Kiru - To be honest I used scales because I didn't know how to make a mesh in the shape of a Do. Scales, on the other hand, I could just slot together, jigsaw style. I could probably do it know as I've had to learn a lot to get this far, but I wouldn't have known if I hadn't started... you know what I mean. People who are looking for samurai armour of a more managebale file size, could talk to Xurge, or Hokusai, (and I think a third person), who I've heard are making sets. Hey, I got a "wow".

Thanks for the compliments - I feel enthused to tackle another long and lonely night :-) And thanks to pnevai. Yep, your scale is about the smallest element in there. It's the lacing (red)and really ramp up the count (they add about 70KB to each pair of scales) and then those beck rope thingies tip the scales at over 500KB!!. I knew I had to keep them small, but it's only in the last couple of days that I've discovered how. Thanks for the instructions on reducing the size. Unfortunately I can't get Poser to export a 3ds mesh that Max will open. When I sort this out, I'll be able to get it down to a reasonable 6 Mega, or so ;-/

It's nearly all done in Poser. I had a desperate need for some primitives (pnevai helped me out with the basic scale used in the body work) so I had to at least work out how to do that in Max - apart from that I'm lost in any 3d software. I'll try exporting and hitting al th butons till I find the right one - usually works! Thanks

Thanks, ihawk. The render is a bit duff ( the lacqeur effect is giving me a real headache) but I'm pleased as punch. Also my apologies to Paul Nevain (Pnevai)who is of course Peter Nevai, and will probably never make me any primitives again. angola (not to be confused with angora)

Does the kabuto work for you? I have it in 3ds and everytime I load it into Poser it blocks up the machine. As for armour....

Hi Paul, can't find you in the marketplace. If you have stuff for sale elsewhere, or I can return the favour some other way let me know. Thanks again angola

Goishi Gashira Iyo zane scales to be precise! It's some japanese armour that I'm starting - an ambitious project given my utter failure to produce a single scale myself but I want it so badly I'm prepared to bug everyone here till I finish it - be prepared :-) Thanks Paul, you are my godsend. Got the obj file. Off to the store to buy one of your prods. angola

The only way I know is with Morph Manager. You can find it... I don't know where you can find it! ...!?#@$ Ask anybody, they'll tell you (anybody but me). Basically select the face you want to create and hit Create morph target. Save the poser file and open MM, then follow the instructions. It's easy peasy honest! Sorry about the link.

All these apologies are making me queasy. But I'll find you a picture of a samurai saddle and you can say if you think it's feasible given the number of Japanophiles out there... And never let it be said that I miss an opportunity to get models.

Sam 3D comes out guns blazing... Of course your wrong Sam but I like the spirit. You were not exactly accused, but you were judged and found innocent (but mediocre) even before your gritty self defense. That's not bad for a forum like this were warez paranoia draws crowds bigger than Man Utd and people have been lynched before their side is heard. You have your apology, and an all round victory for commons sense. Now, if you fancy doing a samurai saddle (even a mediocre one) I can promise you at least one customer.
Thread: Grouping a scene | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yeah, I think for the cell exporting as obj and reimporting is ptobably the best way to go, unless the toilet seat moves etc. The little plus sign I mean is the one on the libraries side bar. Open the props library select a part of the scene and press plus. Choose the elements to install and voila, a cell (xith or without moving toilet seat) ready to be added to any scene).
Thread: Grouping a scene | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Erm... don't you just press that little plus sign on the side bar? A window pops up asking you to select a subset and you can check the boxes for all the props you want to include.
