I use Photoshop SR4 and find that the Exposure correction layer is a great way to get the overall effect I want. For example, to avoid washed out areas I usually render with a little less light than the final image will have and then boost Exposure by 0.2 or 0.3 which adds brightness while maintaining color saturation. Then I use the gamma correction if the shadow areas are too dark.
Some people add backgrouns in postwork. I use a background prop like the one by Emma&Jordi because I can position and scale it to get exactly the result I want in my render.
My most common use of postwork is to fix little glitches in 3D and capture them in partial renders which I overlay in postwork.

I have an old legacy email address manged by Earthlink but my ISP is Verizon. When I got the Verizon service they did not support email on the Macintosh, which is why I didn't get a Verizon email account. Which most fios users have. This compllex set up seems to lead to occasional email interruptions from a minute or so to a couple of hours.
I think your newsletter mailer is just too quick to suspend service when a newsletter doesn't go through right away. Just like you say you don't have the problem with other members, I don't have the problem getting newsletters from RDNA, DAZ, Hivewire, etc.
Since I dont think you are going to change your mailing system on my account, why can't we have a streamlined way to get it turned on again the next time this happens without goinng round and round on what made it happen, since I doubt that anyone wants to take the time to figure it out. (It seems to happen about once or twice a year starting a couple of years ago. I have been a member since 2006.)

It is strange that I am getting emails with no problems from everyone else including other types of messages from Renderosity. For example when I make a purchase in the marketplace, I get the confirmation email in less than a minute, just like I did this evening, which you should be able to confirm in your log records.
Once again, I have never failed to get regular emails from RDNA and DAZ. Or purchase confirmations, gallery alerts and forum alerts from Renderosity. So logically the problem would have to be in how Rendo is sending the newsletter.
FYI, ix.netcom.com is a legacy email address managed by Earthlink and my service providerr is Verizon FIOS.

FYI. As of today, 22 Feb, I am still not getting newsletters. I am getting the gallery notices, purchase records, newsletters from RDNA and DAZ (ahem) but no Renderodity newsletter.

Speaking of sports gloves, soccer goal keeper gloves are probably the most often worn sports gloves in the world, and as far as I know not available for Poser/DS. And we have some nice soccer uniforms, poses and props for sale in the store here, but no goal keeper gloves so it isn't possible to do a proper soccer scene in front of the goal. Sad.

Itried again a few hours later and the download worked fine.
I agree that it looked like the download got interrupted before it dould finish, like a server connection was dropped. I have Verizon FIOS with the speed enhancement and a zip file download normally takes about 3 to 5 seconds, so maybe on account of the load, the server couldn't keep up.

In the case that you were seeking partial information, the multiple choices should have included 'none of the above' in addition to 'other'. Othewise you have no way to distinguish between those who were not interested in the topic and those who ignored the survey. These could be quite diffeent groups, but the way you put the survey together, you can't tell. And i would think you would want to know. (Just trying to be helpful. I once worked for a psychologist who was an expert on surveys and how people answer them.)

I just got back from lunch, and yes, I got your email.
And the last time the newsletter stopped I wsa told it was because I had clicked the 'unsubscribe' link on one of them. I had no memory of doing that. If so, it ws pure accident. But I'm wondering if that unsubscribe record is still lurking in the newsletter data base and got reapplied. That would certainly account for the newsletter stopping.

I don't think so but I could have missed it. I get lots of email. But I received the Forum Reply alert sett at 12:20 pm this morning and I received order confirmation messages from Renderosity.com yesterday at 7:54 pm. In fact, I have never failed to receive an order conformation message. So I don't know what is going on.
The email address in my profile is correct I just now checked it to be sure. And it is working for all emails from renderosity except the newsletter.
The last time I stopped getting the newsletter the problem was that I had been put on an 'opt out' list apparently on account of an email glithch. Could you kindly ask the technical staff to check whether that has happened again?
And if you try another test message, use the address in my profiile. It looks correct to me and it is working for all the renderosity messages that are getting through.

I am subscribed to the newsletter according to my view of my profile.
There is nothing wrong with my email service - I am getting all messages sent by Renderosity on marketplace purchace confirmation, on gallery comments, and calendar updates. The only possible reason for my not getting the newsletter is that it isn't being sent in spite of my subscription. Has the technical staff been told they have a problem? What do they say about resolving iit?
I am attaching a snapshot of my profile showing that I an subscribed and should be getting the newletter and notices of special offers.

Here is my idea of what may have happened. On account of some database glitch - they happen, no system is perfect - the newsletter with my member id is sent to the wrong address, so I don't get it. But suppose the person who got it clicks on the do not send link. That means my userid ends up on the 'do not send' lest which over-rides the mailing list. I have no way to reverse that - which is a design flaw - and the systems peope seem to have a rule - misguided - of bever touching the opt out list. So here I amm a faithful customer since 1966 - how many of those you have - unable to get the newsletter and take advantage of special offers. OK if it happened once, but this is the second time it happened, so whatever happened hasn't been fixed, and neither is there a standard procedure for taking care of it. This is less than wonderful.

I did not receive the newsletter. I have sent an email to this effect to marketing@renderosity.com. Can someone on the staff please forward a copy of newsletters and market announcements while the automatic systemis being fixed?
