Ondoval,
Maybe it's no longer an issue and you've already found the answers you seek, but...I think a lot of what you like in the example images you posted is done in postwork.ย At least that's when I add the brunt of my shadows and highlights in my work.ย It's amazing how different they can look before and after.
I also think your work is just as good as the examples you showed us. :-)

Manoloz,
I've always had the same philosophy about RAM and Processor power--you can never have enough, especially considering how fast computers become outdated.ย Thanks for giving me something to think about before I get my next computer.ย And yes, Poser 7 is an important consideration as well. ย :-)

I found an interesting article at e-frontier.com about what system andย componentsย work bestย with Poser 5/6.ย I found it enlightening.ย ย I was all ready to order a 4 GB ram, dual processor system, with a top-of-the-line video card, but according to this article, Poser can't use more than 2 GB of ram, and a dual processor or Athlon Processor doesn't speed things up.ย ย E-frontier says hard drive speed is one of the most important factors and space on the drive--now that's one thing I'm short on with all of my Poser products. LOL! :-)
Here's the link for those of you who want to read it.

Of course 4 GB of ram might be great for postwork inย Photoshop...

Realmling,
Thanks so much. I will try that. I would love to be able to render this hair without the wispy halo. :-)

I'm coming in on this conversation a little late, but I have the same hair rendering problem with white whispy ends when I used the Sapphire Fox hair.ย Iย dropped by to seeย if anyone knew why this happens asย it's my favorite Poser hair.ย I assumed that it was bad hair texture transparency.ย I even purchased another texture package for the hair, but the results are the same.ย
Any suggestions on a hair texture package for the Sapphire Fox hair?ย
I will try toย change the texture filtering and see if that helps.ย I don't believe it does,
however, as Iย think I've tried that before.
Thanks,
Bobette Bryan

You have my sympathy, drey99.ย It must be hell not being able to get Poser 6 to run. I hope someone here can help you.
I would also be interested in hearing more about this topic as I'm thinking about getting a new computer.ย I've always been partial to Pentium processors and was thinking about getting a system with the new dual Pentium, but my son, who is a programmer, insists that the Athlon processor blows it away.ย But if it can't run Poser 6, it's not for me.ย ย :-)

Thread: Are you upset at the eternal poser prejudice or art done in poser is not art sit | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm replying a little late...but it looks like you ran into what I call an "Art Snob,"
DarthBobVilla. You'll find them in every field of art.ย I'm a professional writer, andย for many years, I hostedย a writer's forum whereย similar arguments often arose, only the fight would beย about literary work versus mass market writing.ย Some writers feel that anything written for the mass market is certainย crap--just as some artists feel that any artwork made with Poser is somehow inferior.ย Such aย critical conclusion just makes the snobs feel better about their own artistic efforts.ย Ignore suchย people.ย They're shallow and not worth knowing anyhow.ย ย Doย the type of artwork thatย you like to do; for art, above all things,ย is an expression of creativity.ย :-)ย

Thread: CDI Morphs ?????? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I've had Kioki from CDI for quite a while and think it's a terrific product.ย Between that and Netherworks 'Aiko-X' morph sets I can't imagine needing any other morphs for Aiko.
Tunsey,
You sound like you're experienced using Capsces' morphs, so I have a question for you.
I'm trying to render some images with Capsces' Chubblies, and there areย white pixels all around the images I've rendered, because the Mil3 Baby's textures aren't big enough for the morphed body.ย Do you know of a way to get around this besides making a new texture for the Morphed baby?
I really love her morphs, but I've steered away from using them because of this problem.
Thanks,
Bobette

Quote - Clark has been around for a bit of time now and yet there does not seem to be much support (add-ons) for the figure.ย ย ย ย ย ย Is he worth the money?
I've been wondering the same thing.ย I love the realistic textures that are out for him and those incredible eyes.ย So I'll probably end up buying him.ย I just wish there were more clothes, hair,ย and poses for him.ย I've been watching and waiting to see if any new products come out for him.ย :-)

Ava Lon,
Sorry for quoting the wrong person. It was indeed "Sabine Schnelting," who sent me the email. I didn't know that you were Sabine.
Anyway, your new terms of use would keep me away from your site, because it contradicts itself. In one part it says the buyer has "full usage" of the materials and in another, it says that the copyright holder has final say. If I owned a store like yours, (in order to protect myself and the buyer) I would insist that my merchants comply with my site's licensing terms. If they refused, I wouldn't let them sell their wares on my site. Just a suggestion. It is that way on Renderosity.
Also, you should have someone who knows German and English well check your license for accuracy. In this part: "no part of the original material from said product cannot be extracted," you should have "can" instead of "cannot." :-)
Thanks,
Bobette Bryan

Thanks for your input, everyone. Anyway, here's the latest proposal from Bice at Poser-Corner:
"I will pay you the money back, do you paid for this kiki pack AND all of your customers, who bought your tubes can use the things further and you are allowed to sell this package further. But please do not use this indian package again in the future...The guidlines in the poser-corner will be updated and in the future everyone can see the readme in the shop-discription."
Hmmmmmm. Sounds good except that I actually don't want a refund, because I'm worried that it could negate my legal right to use the material I've already created with this product. Do you agree? That would not be good as I've invested a lot of time in creating templates, etc. from my renders. At any rate, after all of this, I doubt that I'll want to create renders from it again in the future.
But I wanted to know what the rest of you think about this.
Thanks,
Bobette Bryan
