Got an idea for you. Try turning PanV and PanH to 0, this seems to be what's causing it. Now you can just rotate and place your camera normally. Hope this helps.

Well... thanks. Seeing as how I usually have a bit of time between images (all of two days! =P) I'll consider reposting the better one. Maybe I'll try to improve it somewhat; I was happy with it at the time but now I look back and it's "augh!! What was I thinking!?!?" Not that my current images are that much better, lol. Thanks
Thread: Is Bryce 5.5 Worth it? | Forum: Bryce
lol well I should have known. Thanks, but I still don't think it's worth it (starving college student budget and all that). As for the pov thing, I noticed when I was using Bryce for video game graphics that if you changed the aspect ratio of the window, the pov would zoom out. This was not caused by the window changing size, for instance the top and bottom of the pic moving, and so you can see more of the image there; the pov actually zoomed out. This was especially noticeable when you went from default to a very small square (say 50x50 pixels--which I did all the time for vg's). Cheers

Hmm sorry I wasn't a bit more clear I didn't mean turn off shadows for the logs, just for the fire because then the fire itself would cast shadows, and that would be a "no-no" (since fire's a gasish thing and doesn't really cast shadows). Looks much better with the shadows on for the logs though =P I think that the light should be bigger. You might consider using multiple lights at different positions within the fire, then toning down the intensity of specific lights; this would cause the glare from the lights to mimic the shape of the flame. Also you should put mesas in the background. They are easy to make, just use raise/lower dial in the terrain editor and raise the terrain until the middle is full white. Good luck!

I agree with ddaydreams you should make it very very dark with the fire as the sole light source (I mean turn off sunlight and put in a radial light on the fire, naturally you would have to disable shadows for the fire mats =P). You could put some terrains as mesas in the background and also some Poser figures in cowboy hats near the fire. That's what I thought of at first when I saw it. If you make the radial light surface visible you could even make a nice lens glare effect. Just some thoughts hope this is helpful to you.
