I guess I never grew up. I am sorely disappointed when the storms pass and leave nothing. Ok, the toes and fingers get cold too quick when I'm playing with the stuff, but I wouldn't trade the snow and ice for warm sand.

Although I asked some very skilled Photoshop users, none had an answer to your question. The only suggestion offered was to post your question into the Photoshop forum.
Thread: Hey, GonWaki, how 'ya doing? | Forum: Writers
Thanks Cres and Shanna! Zebra stripes are an improvement over plain lime... Once I get caught up with all the past threads I'll be posting more. I just need a little time to figure out who's who and what's been going on between my visits here (this was one of the few forums I ever left viewable). While I'm primarily on during the evening, starting next week I will be checking in periodically throughout the day. I buckled and gave up on the idea of using the cell phone to access the 'net (the cell phone's 14.4 modem is too slow for this sort of work).

Thanks for the welcome and comments on some of my gallery photos. Like everyone here, I was surprised by Crescent's resignation. I just hope everything goes well! With few exceptions, I am unknown to members of this forum. Many of you may even wonder where I came from and how I managed to become the moderator of this forum. Let me try to explain. During the past 18 months, I have been fortunate to be a member of Renderosity Magazines staff. My magazine "career" began shortly after the magazines third issue was started. Initially, I was assigned to serve as a guide - assisting authors in making the publication deadline and providing suggestions when needed. Soon afterward, I was tapped to help with some light editing. [The true editing star of Renderosity Magazine is dialyn. Without her, wed all be lost!] More recently I have become the Managing Editor of the magazine, a job I take seriously. There was no notice because everything happened so quickly. On Thursday (1/8), I found out that I was being considered. My appointment was approved by Saturday evening. In my wildest dreams I never expected things to move so fast. It would probably be a safe bet that nobody here expected it either. Thats the story of how I came to be here. [Ok, I cannot lie. What REALLY happened is that I fell asleep and was unable to defend myself when the finger pointing started.] I welcome the opportunity to serve everyone participating in this forum and members of the community overall. To that end, if I can be of assistance, send a message or email, wave a flag, or toss a pie my way (chocolate will work in a pinch). Karl
Thread: The Most Difficult to Read book I've never read. | Forum: Writers
Dune wasn't so bad after the 6th time I started it. Took nearly 10 years to get to that point however. Enjoyed War and Peace. Nice distraction from the psych course I was taking at the time. Absolute worst book, in my opinion, is Moby Dick. It's been sitting in one of my "junk" drawers for 14 years - right where it belongs. I just can't bring myself to finish the last 40 or so pages. I turned to Homer instead.

Thread: How do I change my username? | Forum: Community Center
Just a suggestion, but have you thought about creating a new profile/username and stopping the use of the old one? Then just let the admins know to delete the old account.
Thread: What's with the giant banners? | Forum: Community Center
I've seen the same banner multiple times, only in "normal" size. No idea why your browser decided to enlarge it, but the problem isn't with the banner. Best suggestion I can offer is to restart your broswer and flush the cache.
Thread: Renderosity server | Forum: Community Center
No need to delete your gallery postings. If you'd rather not wait until all the images have returned. simply edit your posting and upload the image again. This way, any comments should be retained.
Thread: Problems accessing Renderosity | Forum: Community Center
I really don't think you need to go to all that trouble. I've not changed the default settings of IE, other than refusing it to allow automatic logons to any site, which I did during my first use of IE (do this for every update as well). Meaning that I always log on when visiting Rendosity or any other site (Yahoo, MSN, WSJ, etc). IE is set for medium security, on my XP, 98SE, and ME boxes and I have never received any SQL notices, white screens, or the like. I'd suggest deleting all your cookies and cache files (I do this every few weeks just to clean out the drive), tell IE or Netscape not to remember passwords or automatically log on to a site, and make sure it checks for page updates every time you visit the site. You can always go back to your original setting later if you wish.
