I'd only received this error message with Windows 2000 Pro and Windows XP. In simplistic terms, Poser sometimes has a conflict with your Windows swap file. My easy fix was to install Poser on a different hard drive than Windows. After that change, I rarely received the error message. If I did, it was time to defrag the hard drive. Curious Labs, and others, state that you can adjust your swap file to fix the problem. I always hesitate to change the swap file.

Hmm, the author of the program stops in, and doesn't answer my question. Two days later, still no answer. I guess I just saved myself $90.

Oh, but there is a direct correlation between the length of filenames and the amount of folders. If you get over the max limit of 250 (255?), you see less of your filenames than is actually there. You can "treat the symptoms" by changing your filenames. However, it gets pretty hairy if you're down to 3-5 characters in a filename. You can fight bloat in many different ways. In the past I made a decision to dump all the Poser4 characters and stick with the Millennium figures. That bought me a month or so. In the end, PBooost was the ultimate answer.

Boy is this confusing. We want to make Vicky 3 (woman) look like a man, but she doesn't have a "willie." I'm not surprised at that. Now I hear that testicles have bones. I do my own investigation, and find no bones. Somehow those pictures of penises seem very unsettling. Maybe it's because they have no body attached. Oh boy, was that a boner or what?! Excuse me, but... Um... bye.

Uhoh, maybe I'm dumb, but it seems to me that you want a MAT Pose to make Vicky all white, and wonder why her eyebrows are not correct?! Maybe I'm not seeing things correctly?! You might want to spend some time at Ron Knights' web site. He helps newbies, and has good tutorials on MAT Pose Edit and Vicky & Mike's texture settings.Thread: New in Freestuff (my first) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

You could give us more information concerning: 1.) What version of Poser do you have? 2.) Your computer hardware 3.) Your operating system... more. Just off the top of my head, many of us got this kind of error with Poser 5. The error was fixed with the Service Release Updates. Just a tip: You can find information on this and other issues by just doing a search in this Poser forum and the Poser 5 forum.Thread: This may be a stupd question... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hogwarden didn't cause the Poser "bug," but he offered a wonderful alternatiive to the problem.

Your Poser libraries are too large. You need PBooost. It costs about $20 and will take care of your problems.

I'd consider this a "troll message." Hasn't this very topic been covered "a million times," already? So why do we continue to respond, and get caught up in all the conflict?
Thread: "You are out of memory" message | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Sometimes we get the "out of memory" error after we get other error messages. For instance, Poser asks where to find a geometry file, and we don't know where it is. In fact, I can't think of a time when the "out of memory" error comes by itself. Everytime I read about someone's problems with "out of memory" errors, I figure they forgot to tell us some important facts.

Let's not forget all those readme files called "readme.txt" Guess what happens when we unzip stuff into our Poser folder? They over-write each other.

I took control of all my Poser stuff long ago. I actually went through each item in my collection, and unzipped everything to a temp folder. Then I renamed everything I wanted except the geometry folders. I used CorrectReference to fix any changed or incorrect texture references. You talk about problems? Incorrect texture references are the worst problem I've found so far. It's amazing that the artists don't take greater care with those.

So how about a good, clear description of the features involved in CR2Edit6?! I just couldn't get the proper message by visiting the site. Call me a dummy, but I am interested.
