I go one further... I have both P4/PP and P5. Can they use the same runtime? i.e. Can my runtime be on say... h:/runtime, while poser 4 is on h:/Poser4 and poser 5 is on h:/poser5 I believe it can, but I've never done it in practice. I guess both P4 and P5 would have their main runtimes and some stuff would have to be duplicated, but atm if I want to use something in P4 and P5 I either install it in both - or else. My runtime is HUGE, yes about 10gb. Poser takes forever to load :( BTW - I already put V2, V3, M2, M3, Scenery in their own runtimes in the top level poser directory (i.e. Poser5/V3/Runtime/...) but I was thinking wouldn't it be nice to have both Poser versions working of the same copies?

Oh here is another one, is there a way to sink the Poser 5 Parameter Dials window into the UI ala Poser 4? I much preferred that. :(

"Just grab them with the mouse and move them." DUH! Ok I am off to customize in a BIG way now. I can't believe I've been using poser all this time and I never knew that!!!

Thread: A "Readme" appeal :) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Phantast, just one folder called Readme is what I was talking about. At the moment some put them in folders named after them, others in one called readme, others again into readme's, then another into the texture folder, the character folder etc etc. GAH! I am forever scanning for txt files in the runtime because I can't find stuff, or don't want it there. Hence... (for example) D:poserreadmexyzartistxyzproductreadme.txt (or html) top level uncluttered, it's all in one top level place, I can find it easily and quickly, it won't overwrite stuff.... Bingo. I'm happy. I'm sure a great many others would be too.

Ok dumb question......... How do you do that? I'd love to change mine but I don't know how lol

Thread: A "Readme" appeal :) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yup :) Now just name it something sensible....... :P Seriously tho, I've overwritten so many readme files in my time, it's become a major gripe of mine. I do watch out for it now, but I don't catch them all. BTW - there is a folder called readmes (I think it's standart in poser4/5 but not sure) why not put it in there, and if you want to have your own folder - create one in that folder, instead of the top level? That way all the readmes are in one place, but sorted by artist. (That's what I do now, manually, when I install something from some place, not just from here, but Daz, RDNA, Poserpros, Poserworld etc.) And Carolly - I agree. PDF - that's all very well too, but AR takes forever to fire up these days, what with the overblown DRM stuff they added. Gimme text. nods HTML I don't mind, it's universal and loads quick. "mini-novel" Ohhhh gimme mini novels, by all means. I rather have too much info - than none, or too little.

Thread: adding to MATERIALS Library | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Uh guys, he actually asks a good question. Me - I don't care who uses which version of poser. I have both now. I use both, but I use P4/PP less and less. Nevermind all that tho - a tutorial in how to add materials and what the pros and cons are would be very very useful. Don't make me read the manual!!! AHHHHH.........!!!! There are a bunch of tutorials on Curious Lab's site (go to the support link) but I don't think there is one on the materials. I've often wondered the same thing myself btw, because it would be rather nice to be able to put the mat files in there, instead of the pose folder... I think.

Thread: I do not like the Fact we can't use our credit cards for the pay all... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the explanation Anton, it's much appreciated. Paypal will charge your card - if you attached one - after you were approved and the card validated, so it might take a few days. Not really a problem. However, if you are in Europe and you pay via Paypal and don't get what you pay for you are.... screwed. In the US they will let you claim it back, in Europe they don't. Basically outside the US there is no chargeback. Also Paypal has been known to screw up payments in the past (A friend of mine had a huge problem, but personally I've never had a problem with them.) so people are a bit leery of them. Personally I don't mind Paypal, but I don't like having a card registered with Daz and then having to go off site etc to pay for an item in my shopping cart, while I can pay with the credit card for the rest of the bits. But alas, it's only once a year, so I'm not worried.

Thread: DAZ Outdoes Themselves (Platinum Club Renewals) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
LOL Steve, you mean you are allowed to sleep??? BTW - I've renewed on the Annual Plan and no $30 voucher, only the monthy $5 one. You guys definitely need to look at that I think, because I'm not the only one where it's not showing up...

I've emailed them about it already. I did renew via paypal, but emailed them about not being happy about being unable to use a card accepted everywhere else in the store for it. "DAZ's Visa/MasterCard processing company won't let them sell an annual membership through them." So does that mean there is a middleman when it comes to card processing? I'm not sure how merchant accounts work, but as far as I am aware there is no processing company involved who dictates rules to you since that's done with the bank you're at. So I take it to mean there is no merchant account. Also - the monthly one is also an annual subscription, only you pay it in installments. The same rules apply other than paying a higher lump sum up front. You pay $29 instead of $69 up front, but the fact remains that you have to commit yourself for a year. The whole thing just seems very silly to me.

Elaine, I would email Daz on that one. I'm not sure how that one works or if you get the models. And btw - it's 58 models + a lot of the textures to go with the models, so you really get more than 58 items. (I think I counted 63 including the textures)

LOL Yeah, just in case it didn't come across: W-O-W I am impressed by the amount of files. Hydra, Hatchling, Gremlin, V3 Morphs, Ogre, Multi-Sword Pak definitely made my day and were well worth renewing. :)

Hiya Steve, Thanks for the clarification :) (Can't wait for that Big Surprise you're talking about lol) I've just renewed my annual membershit for the full second year annual membership - no $30 Voucher so you guys might want to have a look at that, because I don't seem to be the only one this has happened to. Also - not sure if you read all the bits above... could we have an option in that cart to show files by operating system? I really really don't need the Mac files, and I'm sure a lot of others don't need them listed either. It makes the page enormous and it seems to push our previous purchases out of the area even if we still have available downloads on them. Thanks, Silke

No $30 voucher here, renewed for a full year at $69 Also, I have a million downloads all in PC and Mac format - and none of my previous purchases are listed anymore, so I can't redownload anything I've actually bought. I want an option to only get PC OR Mac files, thankyouverymuch. I don't need any of the Mac files - ever. I have nothing against Macs, but I don't own one, don't plan on ever buying one... so I really don't need them listed. Sorry but that kinda annoys the heck outta me because I've sometimes downloaded the wrong one and not realized until I went to install it... and when it's a 17mb download I'm not too amused when I do that :( Yeah, my own fault, but.... sigh I'm not quibbling the gift horse, there are a lot of nice items in that collection. (A lot of what I consider complete rubbish, too) Hydra is there, the Camel with the maps is there, V3 piercing... bodyshirt, the Gremlin and maps, but also the Walker, Helmet, babyprops... ummm what else... skeleton, knight, the sword pack... Lots. Unfortunately I now cannot see any of my bought items at all and that needs to be sorted out.
