I've not had anything back online, either here or via email, from my own recent communications to Sam :-(
Thread: Distributing an M4 Face Morph based on a ZBrush sculpt plus ++ dial spins | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the pointers guys :-)
I'll have a crack at it later tonight or over the weekend.
The Zbrush sculpt was straight off the M4 base...
If I can get my head around sharing this version then I'll do that.
Otherwise, I suppose I can go back to that zbrush sculpt and refine that more, so the supplementary dial spins with the ++ morphs aren't needed... if that then simplifies sharing it.
Planning some more, on the same theme, once I get this one down ;-)
I was going to have a crack at a skin texture too... using Saint Fox's Merchant Resource. My render there is using JSGraphics' Liam character's texture... selected for the eyebrows it has (or doesn't have) largely.

He he ;-)
Pink isn't just a color, it's an attitude... apparently.
That's a turkey with attitude.
Thread: Wrinkles for conforming clothing... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I wonder if a procedural node pattern for creases and smaller wrinkles, with a painted control map, to control the strength and distribution would work?
Thread: Wrinkles for conforming clothing... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Maybe a displacement map of some sort?
Think it would have to be painted though... not sure this could be done with a procedural node?
Thread: How long did it take you to learn Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I tried to learn 3D Studio back in 1998... and got nowhere with it.
In 2011 I decided to give 3D CG another shot... started with Blender, but again, got nowhere fast. Then I got a copy of Poser, and everything came together much quicker.
That's given me a lot more insight and confidence to go back and try to get to grips with Blender... although mostly focused on ZBrush right now, when I'm not just having fun playing around in Poser... what I still spend thw majority of the time I have free, doing.

Quote - Thanks, and I'm still working on that, promise. Wish I could give more details but I can't right now. Unfortunately I gotta make money too, and that takes time away from bigger things.

That's cool... happy to wait patiently right now ;-)

Yeah... definitely being able to mix and match figures better is good.
It's great that this is where the Poser tech is going I think... whether that's via fitting room, morph brush enhancements as seen in PP2014, to transfer morphs, or add-ons like Wardrobe Wiz or Texture Transformer...

Quote - ..... so maybe Roxie will prompt creativity rather than cloning?
Just a thought :scared:
Careful there Phil... it's a dangerous thing, thought ;-)
What draws me to use Rex & Rox is that they're the most innovative native Poser figures, in terms of the tech at least... in Poser terms, they're the cutting edge, I guess... with the new Subd stuff, certainly.
Dawn is progressive. But is still targeting backwards compatibility... and I kind of see that figure, in the tech terms, as a step forward, rather than a leap, still.
Although, in marketplace terms a pretty decent sized step I think... and still, weight mapped, so... well worth considering as an option.
But seeing Rex & Rox's further development going down the line of more innovation, more R&D, rather than mere imitation, would be the best way that SM could go with them, with the next addition to them, or version / iteration of them, I think.
I guess at the moment, I'm continuing to hedge my bets... and I might end up mixing and matching... something which is also better catered for with PP2014 I guess...
Still waiting for more news from Shane on his project(s) too, of course... ;-)
Thread: Is Anyone Making Face Morphs and Textures for Roxie? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've been tinkering with both Rex and Rox in ZBrush.
But also tinkering with Dawn.
Not been sure which if any I should put effort into using to try to make some of my own characters with... and yeah been put off with the eyelash thing too, as mentioned by Nanette.
A big part of me is still holding out for whatever is coming next...
...and the fact I don't have much time at all just now is kind of reinforcing that attitude.

Poservangelism rocks!
Yeah, some more professionally produced shaping morphs, for both Roxie and Rex would make them so much more useful I have to say...
...and more skin textures... at least to cover a range of ethnicities.
Something equivalent to the ++ morphs and elite skins, if you get me. Doesn't need be as extensive even though... I don't think.
Hivewire and its associates now seem to be doing a good job on this front for Dawn, I reckon.
It seems pretty clear to me that the useability, and consequently success, of any figure will depend on a reasonable quantity and quality of these two elements being made available by the figure's creator / publisher and / or primary sponsor.
I reckon that only through the figure's originator producing a good starting amount and grade of these components will any other third parties be likely to take on the mantle of further augmenting a figure's stack, on these fronts.
So, c'mon Steve, Teyon and the other guys at SM... can you find it in your time and budgets to show Rox and Rex some more mid-term(?) love?
By the way, check out Teyon's Rex ZBrush sculpts in his gallery. Some cool ideas about what could be a better approach to skin texturing there, I think...
;-)
