You know, I DID actually considered exporting as a single object. It seems to be THE quickest easiest way. I found a Material Setting for making superb line renderings of scenes, and setting every material individually was/is absurd. Thanks for the suggestions all!
Thread: Converting Bump Maps | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Okay.......now who can recommend a good/simple way of converting .BUM files back to an editable format? Sometimes already converted .BUM files are included with a product rather than .JPGs. Personally, I use the FREE Graphic Converter program. Its the only app I know that can read .BUMs. Anyone else have a solution? If so, what is it?

Just used the above-linked DeleteLights Python script in P5 for Mac, and it works like a charm! Easy as pulling a chicken in a wagon! Thank you Ockham!!
Thread: DAZ Studio Artist Guide .PDF encrypted | Forum: DAZ|Studio
That was weird. I tried opening the file yesterday in Preview (on Mac OSX), and yes, it said only the copy/paste features were prevented, yet every page was nothing more than a pic of a lock (or was it a key?). Nonetheless, I just tried again, and voila......OPEN! Ah well, thanks and nevermind.

Thread: is it ok to put the artist name and a copyright on a poser render??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Unquestioned acceptance of ANY information submitted by strangers from the internet is no way to do business or make rational decisions. Always follow up with your own research.
It will cost $30 US at the U.S. Copyright Office to OFFICIALLY register a copyright. However, you can register as many images as can fit in the envelope for THAT price, whether it be one or 1,000 images. Each image will require either a photocopy, slide, or transparency etc.. As I mentioned in my above post, GO TO THE WEBSITE. Likewise, you can get a copy of 2004 Artists And Graphic Designers Handbook at your local Borders Books & Music. Therein you will find copyright details as explained above.
My reference above was in regard to "recompense" for stolen work, i.e., receiving MONEY for ones work. And copyright theft is not limited to a reposting on another website. Rather I refer to having it used in commercial venues wherein the thief receives a profit from your work (magazines, books, television) without your knowledge. On www.whatiscopyright.org, third paragraph clearly states, "He then registers his copyright with the U.S. Copyright Office which is a requirement in order to sue for monetary damages should a violation of his copyright arise." Simple and simply said.
And the FACT is, you do have to provide proof. I don't know what country you are from, but in the U.S. we support the notion that you are innocent until proven guilty (with some albeit arguable exceptions). THIS is the very reason why you would officially register a copyright. Proof. If you have no interest in monetary compensation, and consider the registration of copyright an unnecessary expense, disregard it.
Hypothetical example......I complain to Webmaster@Joe3D.com stating that X-Poster has posted MY work under her name. Yet I am lying and have no means of backing up my complaint. And X-Poster has NO means of proving it is her original work, since she ignorantly deleted everything from her harddrive after posting her image, Its a skewed unrealistic scenario, but were it to happen, who should be believed? A crime with absolutely no evidence at all is not a crime.
Thread: How do I save a figure's shape? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This requires more specific information. If you are referring to making a pose.....pose it and then save it by clicking the "+" button at the bottom of the pose library window. Apply that pose to your appropriate figure If you are referring to the pose state that the model is in when you first load it (and each time thereafter)......load the figure, apply your pose, and then save (+) the figure (.cr2) in the character library under a different name (otherwise it will prompt you to overwrite the existing file). When you reload that figure, it will be posed as it was saved.
Thread: is it ok to put the artist name and a copyright on a poser render??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
All original image work is automatically copyrighted by its creator. However, LEGALLY there is no real recourse other than a 'cease and desist' without a visible opyright symbol. And better yet, registered opyrights hold infinitely more sway in court. Registering a opyright can be done in the U.S. for $30 via the U.S. Copyright Office (see http://loc.gov/copyright).
If your image has been stolen for profit, AND YOU CAN PROVE IT, you are far more likely to receive compensation with a visible registered opyright.
Caveat/Warning:
U.S. Copyright Laws do not apply everywhere, so goodluck if your goods are stolen by individuals from most Asian continent nations (China, Russia, etc). Its one of the drawbacks to the internet.
Lastly:
This is a digital age. ANY image can be modified to remove Watermarks, Trademarks, Benchmarks, Stretchmarks or Skidmarks with time and expertise. Just because a opyright symbol can be cropped/blurred/erased/etc. does NOT negate it. It merely requires you to provide proof of orginality. Posting here at Renderosity timestamps your image. Conversely, it opens you up to being ripped off. Your choice.
Thread: Macintosh OS X newbie needs help | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
1.- Congrats on getting a PowerBook.
2.- Do you mean that you are moving the entire series of nested folders (Runtime>Libraries>Characters>etc) into Runtime? IF SO, don't. Instead, move the contents of the folders to the appropriate locations, creating new folders as necessary. Use MacInstaller if you want it automated. See Soft-Rabbit.com for deets.
3.- DAZ3D uses .sit files for Mac products, which contain an installer that is ONLY OS 9 (Classic) compatible. To use them you MUST have OS 9 installed. If you are booted in OSX, Classic will start immediately to enable the installers (per default, I believe)
4.- IMPORTANT- Avoid using the " / " (forward slash) character in folder names. The contents will not be recognized. Something about UNIX(?)
Anything else?
Thread: Anti-Poser People :(!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
to be fair........point #15 of the Epilogue.net Art Guidelines says : ___"Poser, Bryce and other software - Artwork created in these programs must be of exceptional quality to be approved." ___BVH began this thread by implying that Poser images were NOT allowed period. Tsk tsk. Nonetheless, I should hope ALL their accepted artwork would be of exceptional quality. And at the very least Epilogue.net recognizes that software programs DO create Artwork, according to the above guideline. Also keep in mind that 'other software' must necessarily include Photoshop, Maya, Lightwave, and more. Lastly, OF COURSE THEIR DECISIONS ARE ARBITRARY! When all is said and done, the images will be accepted or rejected based on the whims of the judge(s). How else does one make determinations concerning something as transient as 'art'?

so wait a sec.......StudioMaya was attacked by The Toilet Wizards?!? Those bastards!!! I knew The Toilet Wizards were up to no good, secreted away in their Toilet Tower, "muahahaha"-ing and rubbing their hands together all sinister-like.....I just KNEW it! Hopefully StudioMaya is just temporarily away getting partial body morph injections for larger muscles....or something...
Thread: DAZ Studio | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
All I ask is that 'someone' release a Mac OSX compatible program that will free me from relying on Classic OS Nein. I understand that Curious Labs is working on P5 for OSX and DAZ|Studio will be OSX compat, and I am grateful. I will wait as long as I have to for a good reliable product....but only because I have NO choice. :)
Thread: Um, whats the deal with DAZ3D.com??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, clearing my browser disk cache solved my problem. I suppose it was premature of me to fire off a "Gimme back my DAZ3D!" e-mail to ScreamDesign... :) Alas, what is done, be done.
