Certainly. Like I said a lossy format is suitable for websites. But say for example you were creating some fantastic surreal image that you hoped to sell as prints. You would never save it as a jpeg or other lossy format. But you would make a smaller jpeg copy for posting to the web. The fact that Nearly all textures available for Poser are jpegs is generally to keep the download size small. But I would prefer them to be Tiff's or TGA's. Especially since I have DSL. I couldn't careless about the download size of the item.

It makes zero sense to save your final renders as a lossy format unless they are not serious renders or you want to save disk space. For web you would simply save a copy as a jpg

Yeah never render as a jpg if you want to retain quality. Rendering as a TGA(targa) image will also be just as good as TIFF or PSD. Pete

I agree with R Hatch. While one can make Poser figures look different using morphs. most that would submit a Poser model either did not build the model themselves or they did not create the morphs themselves. I also thought it to be starnge that the rules state that I must wholey own the copyright on the dta I submit to them and yet there are poser submissions

Yeah most of the models look real crappy. And some are just Possette. There is may 2 models that actually look good. The contest has been going on for a while and yet hardly any entries. So basically its a waste of webspace

Wanna save yourself from copyright/trademark violations. Create your own textures and or models. Its as simple as that. In the pro world you pretty much would never buy and object and use its supplied textures unless it was a generic object anyway. Such as an old boat. A couch, or a chainsaw. Thats a general rule. I mean how many of you pros use Mike or Victoria and use them strictly as they are. No morphs in otherwords. I havent seen a single add that uses Mike or Victoria that looks like thier default selfs Pete Janak

Thread: Poser art theft... (yamato please read) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Perhaps Yamato gave permission. Since after all it is a "fan site". Lousy compressioon? It looks just as good as his original gallery post. I dont see anything that suggest credit is being stolen. Although there is that url addy that has been included as part of the image. But in fact, they all have that URL included with the image. Pete

YOu may not have been looking at the finished 3D object in those video clips on the discovery site. They all looked pretty true to the real deal to me. Pete

Thread: MAT pose files | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thats true Rebeka, but it almost defeats the purpose of having a MAT utility I'll check the nethworks tool you mentioned karen. Thanks
Thread: MAT pose files | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yeah it doesa create mats but they are empty. Meaning, you still gotta go into notepad and enter the things you want to add or change. This is not what I was hoping for so I'll look into the lates MAT POSE EDIT YOu know I had searcvhed Renderosity for MAT POSE EDIT and I did not find the 3.x version. Thanks for the links Pete
