Is Corel still signing on new beta testers for Bryce 5? Or is the beta tester recritment now closed?
Thread: Animation Question | Forum: Poser Technical
I just looked at your thing again--nicely done by the way. Now it's running faster. To make it look smoother try changing the original animation render to more frames per second. Leave the time frame the same. Then there will be more morphs per transistion. I would think that would make it look smoother, even if you had to slow it down in giff to get the 8 to 15 fps rate you'd want for the internet.
Thread: Animation Question | Forum: Poser Technical
By choppy I presume you mean slow? If so, check the time between frames with a giff editor. Graphic Workshop Professional's Giff Construction Set will show you how. You can change the timing there. I'm no expert at giffs, but my nine-year old son just made one and he had the same problem. He corrected it by changing the time between frames.
Thread: Painter 3D problems with RDS 5.5 | Forum: Carrara
It is in the "FILES" area of the Egroups group called Raydream: group.http://www.egroups.com/group/Raydream First, you'll have to join egroups (easy to do): http://www.egroups.com Next sign up for the Raydream group (again, easy). There are three Raydream egruops. Join to the one mentioned above--AFTER you join as outlined above. Look on the sidebar for the "files" area. There are several other fixes on there too. Please let me know if you have the same problem I have referred to in my first post in this thread--even if you have no solution to it, I would know that the problem is not related to my own particular system here. Good luck. Let me know if you have any install problems. Make sure to read the "read me" text.

Will check that out in the morning. I couldn't find one earlier. So I actually wrote an .ini myself--modled after the one for Poser. But it didn't work. I'll try your suggestion, though. Thanks for your time.
Thread: Painter 3D problems with RDS 5.5 | Forum: Carrara
Yup, prior to having this problem, I had already done what you have suggested--the problem exists despite the fact that I had already installed the fix you mentioned. Of course, prior to installing that fix, there was no Painter 3D pop-up window available. Now, before I actually paint within Painter 3D for the first time, I have to tell RDS 5.5 exactly where the ".exe" is. I have to do this every time I reboot RDS 5.5.
Thread: Where are Ray Dream's Help files? | Forum: Carrara
Thanks. I went back and ran a "custom" install on top of my first, "typical" install, and NOW I HAVE THE HELP FILES. They should have been in the typical install because they are small. When I click on the Painter 3D pop-up help, I still get the message: ". .can't find cDetMod.hlp. Oh well, MetaCreations has a lot of MicroSoft running in its veins!!!
Thread: Question regarding STill to Real | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I can't get Still to Real to work for me. It seems to install, but when I try to get the program to run all I get is a frozen screen. I think that so many people are having problems with this that Renderosity should get it off the free downloads section. We need to have a little confidence in the stuff that's up there. Too many dead links already. I've already wasted a bunch of time on this. "Still to Real" is still not real; it's just a good looking idea that dead still!
Thread: MetaStream 3 site--what's going on here? | Forum: Animation
Bob, Thanks. The download site that YOU referenced worked for me. I am now running MetaStream 3.0 with no problems. I didn't even have the "quirky" problems that you had downloading. I guess the problem was that I was trying to download from the site mentioned in a previous message in this forum. That site is different and its downloads didn't work for me. Again, many thanks for the help!
Thread: MetaStream 3 site--what's going on here? | Forum: Animation
Tried again to download the MetaStream 3.0 plug-in, and also the other download for "partners?" (to create stuff). Both downloads are on the same page. I clicked them and got this message: "the broadcast key for this page is invalid" Can't they even put a broadcast key on their own web page? BOB--Try to view the "cube" again and let me know if it works, please (if you have tyhe time). Thanks, seedpress

Thanks for the feedback. I'm running IE 5. Still couldn't get it to work. There are sure not going to get wide adoption until they smooth things out. Maybe I'll try again, if I can work up the nerve aAND patience. Seedpress
Thread: BEWARE!!--MetaStream files won't open on some web servers! | Forum: Animation
Hey John W. Gosh! Thanks for the clear explanation. Now I have something to work with. I can't thank you enough. Your advise was very clear; based on your info I shall re-contact my "Luddite" server sysprogs, and try to motivate them to remedy the situation. Again, THANKS SO MUCH! As an afterthought I'm retorically wondering what percentage of servers out there may have the same problem with MetaStreamk files? Hmmm--tooo bad; there're such neat files!
Thread: BEWARE!!--MetaStream files won't open on some web servers! | Forum: Animation
Fur--Thanks for the tip; but I did ftp it in binary instead of ascii. In the meantime I've put my files on another web server where they work fine. Seems to be a problem with just SOME web-server software. Now the question is: which kind? Also, since web-browserimage viewers for other common image file types don't seem to be stymied by my MetaStream-"problem" server, I think MetaCreations needs to tweek their MetaStream viewer software to be compatible with a broader range of server software. I've gotten no satisfactory answer yet from MetaCreations; but since MetaStream is their BIG up-and-coming company focus, you would think they would be responsive to such a problem. Many of my potential "MetaStream"-file customers are using a web-page server that won't allow me to display MetaStream files. Leaves me in the lurch!
Thread: BEWARE!!--MetaStream files won't open on some web servers! | Forum: Animation
The problem I am having is with a MetaStream file that is 42K. So I guess large file size isn't the problem in my case. Thanks for the tip, though. Seedpress
Thread: Beware of Mimic Beta Downloads | Forum: Animation
Hey EdW--Thanks for the tip. I do know about the Windows installremove programs utility; however, if I'm right, sometimes it leaves little pieces behind. Actually, so do some programs' uninstall routines. I guess I should invest in a dedicated uninstaller if I'm going to continue to try out all this "cripple-ware". Hey Terry--I think you are going to have the same problem I did. I don't see why not. It's too bad we can't actually buy the real software now. The time gap between the beta time-out and the commercial release is annoying; but then, like you, I never really had a chance to try it out. So-o-o sad!
