don't let poser intimidate you. i started poser 8 months ago and to those who knows me in real life - i am the hardest one to teach when it comes to computers. can't teach old dogs new tricks kinda thing but i did surprisingly well as a beginner. i think what modus has suggested is wonderful and well worth the try. i played around daz studio as well before getting poser. good luck hon!

love it or hate it ,it is for the audience to decide. remember, we can't please everybody. we might deem things to be tongue-in-cheek but to others it might be taken the other way. we all have different opinions on things. you exercised your right to post something that is a little dark and can be considered controversial, don't feel bad if others don't find the humor in it and exercise their rights to tell you so. personally, i don't see anything harsh about the comment just as you don't see anything that can be misconstrued as "sick" in your image. i am immune to dark humor, so such image doesn't bother me and i can see the humor in it but i am not everyone else.

i changed the setting (CSS) a couple of days back but for some reason it turned off my java script and could not open any other sites aside from rendo even when there wasn't anything wrong with it (my java setting). don't know anything about the coding stuff but since removed i can once again browse my other art gallery without a snag. rendo site is back to it's default white background but at this point i have given up so i'm throwing in the towel.

well, as i've told some of my close friends, i won't be posting any new renders for a while and i MAY or MAY NOT keep my account here active. it will all depend on the outcome of the final tweaking and ironing out. but for now i'm posting my new renders somewhere else.
about a couple of months ago, i joined another art gallery where most of my current renders are now displayed. i was suprised when joining this new site. compared to renderosity, it was complicated, hard to navigate and really not that impressed of their features. it took me two months to understand most of it but i still haven't adapted to it fully. so now, renderosity, my home base decided to "upgrade". the idea was perhaps enticing. when i heard about it i thought "cool, they need to do something about the lag". that was my only issue (if i have to name one) - that it took a while to view an image once you click the thumbnail and uploading an image sometimes was agony. the rest which worked so perfectly well i thought was not going to be changed/replaced. imagine my surprise when i learned that my home has become the clone of my second gallery. i'm sorry but i know you guys say we have a different look as deviantART but fact of the matter is, it has a look and feel of deviantART. might not be verbatim and we may have used a program solely made for renderosity but it is moulded from the same slab - complicated and no longer user friendly.
what i'm trying to say is...i don't want to spend another 2 months trying to learn my way around what i used to call my home base. i have a job, two kids and with little free time i have i'd much rather spend doing things i consider relaxing. so good luck everyone...hope it works out for the better and that somehow there is a happy medium somewhere that everyone can be happy with.
cheers,
Rain

ditto on the privacy part...we should have the option to choose whether or not we want everyone to know we are online.
Thread: No Favorites ebots | Forum: Community Center
149 ebots today and only 3 of them are on my list. i even went to the extent of turning off my subscriptions. logging off, re-starting my computer (yes i did) and log back on, signed in and still more ebots are flowing in.
Thread: FINALLY i got my ebots back!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
you can have my ebots hon lol...i have received so far a total of 47 ebots and none of them were in my list.

lol, i sure hope so hon. the "now you see me, now you don't, peekaboo" game sure isn't fun.
and now for some ranting....
i was gonna make a comment along with the first one i sent on the front page regarding the "new adventures to be had with the new gallery" but it seems the "opinions" posted is temporarily down (at least i hope it's temporary). i was gonna state that they need to put up a warning that goes: viewing the new gallery may cause confusion and therefore should not be viewed by those who are prone to sudden seizures.
those pop up, hovering, little windows that used to be a little info at the bottom of the thumbnail letting everyone know how many views, comments and rates an image has is soooooo distracting that it takes the pleasure i used to have viewing the gallery away.
sure, it has some new features but why take away the old ones that worked perfectly well before. it's like they got together and decided "oh i know, how about we complicate things for everyone by making the navigation as hard as possible?!?" to which the response was "brilliant!!!!"
sigh....i give up.

Thread: New galleries going live | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - #2 - Viewing galleries by "Most commented" and "Most viewed" CLIQUEY!!! None of the newer posters are going to be viewed that way... everyone is automatically going to look at the elite of the site. I really wish Rendo would rise above status for a change and give everyone a fair shake. Little guys become big guys eventually, but with that in place, no one is going to get anywhere.... except those who are more known and have been here longer.
that was the first thing that came to mind and i think BBarbs also mentioned it as well and i share their concerns regarding this matter.
Thread: A question about censorship | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
well, it's been good so far. i have gotten some paid work through deviantART and that counts for something. as far as the censorship goes, it's caused quite a controversy why they would not allow certain artwork yet they allow others to express their anti semetic beliefs so long as they don't express hate towards others. don't quite know how that works but it is privately owned so they are allowed to police their website the best way they know how.

Thread: Enough with the textures for Medieval dresses already! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I am sorry, I did not mean to offend anyone. I have been accused plenty of times of not having any sense of humor. To me it sounded like a complaint. One softened up by a LOL, but still a complaint. If that is not what this was, I am truly sorry for the misunderstanding.
i'm with you on that assumption DarkAngel...the "LOL" at the end is probably enough for some people to take it as a joke but the fact that the original poster of the thread created it solely to say "enough already" doesn't make it funny. infact if i was the one who posted the freebies, i'd probably be offended by it no matter if the person added an "LOL" at the end or not. that's all i got to say about that.
kudos on englishbob for that link...well said! and for sylverwyvern, keep up the good work. your textures are wonderful.

Thread: OT : This blows me away (street art) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
lol, not at all hon....actually, i am a huge fan of quantum physics and it's relation to our everyday lives (no, it's not just about numbers and equations and complicated theories, hehehe) and one of the things that we'd sometimes talk about is how a brain interprets what one sees. they did a test on a subject and showed this person an object and watched his brain activity as they were viewing this object and certain parts of their brain light up. next they did was remove that object and had the person imagine the object and they discovered that the same parts of the brain lit up which led them to the question - does the brain see, or do the eyes see? hence the question..."what happened to the cat?" but that's another experiment there altogether. very interesting really and we can branch this subject out to so many different possibilities and theories but we'd also risk our audience to boredom, lol.
