I'm using Vue 9 and am also having a problem with Vue not fully populating an ecosystem. Let's say my camera angle is 30 degrees. When I click to populate the screen only the lefft 15 percent is being populated, other than at the closest point there are no plants appearing in the right half of the image. Any idea what could cause that?

These don't seem to be in a format usable in Vue.

Just recently got a email from Eon that they were having a Anniversary 50%+ off sale. I would suggest looking at Vue 10 Studio as a good starting edition. It includes all the suggested modules except EcoPainter.Thread: Vue Fantasy Version Questions | Forum: Vue
I'm very new to Vue myself and have not used Vue Fantasy, but you will probably find that you need to invest in several additional modules to get the results that you want, especially if you want larger renders or the ability to import Poser or Daz characters. Ecosystems is another must have. As another user has already said, you would be better off to invest in one of the beter packages like Studio or Complete. In the long run it will save you a lot of money.

I certainly agree with you about the module discounts! It would be nice too if every so often they would give you a flat percentage off that you could use on any Vue objects, like you get with Renderosity.

I think the Club is worth it. I've been able to pick up lots stuff that they have reduced to 99 cents on the monthy club discounts page and you also get a $5 voucher each month. The vouchers are a bit of a hassle because you can only use them on some items, but it can still save you some money.

I purchased several items last night and it worked fine. However, I did lose everything I had in my wishlist over the weekend.

OK, but if I wait until next September I can get Vue 10 Studio at half price anyway. I don't see that the subscription saves me any money, it just saves some time. I can get Vue 10 now at half price with the subsription or get it next year in September on sale. Am I understanding this right?

I have never quite understood how the maintenance contracts work. I got Vue 9 Studio last month and I think I'm still in the 30 day window to get the contract. Would it include Vue 10 and Vue 11 free? I'm trying to decide whether it is worth the cost.

Every year in September or October, just before the new version hits the shelves, Vue puts the current version on sale for 50% off. I stay one version behind that way, but I do save a lot of money. I had been using Vue 8 Esprit with added ecosystem module, but was able to upgrade to Vue 9 Studio for less money than Esprit plus module upgrade.

I'll probably wait til next fall when they have a big price reduction before Vue 11 come out. I can see maybe waiting a couple of versions, but 5+ is too much. You'll lose out on the upgrade pricing and probably have to pay full price.
But speaking of pricing, I got an email from Eon about the printed manual for Vue 9 being on sale half off and I was ready to buy until I realized that they charge $13 for shipping! That's half the cost of the book! I cancelled the order when I saw that.
Thread: I've upgraded, now what? | Forum: Vue
Quote - You can use the object within a scene saved as a Vue 9 scene file, the original object will still be readable by Vue8. It's only if you resave the object (as a vob, not a Vue scene file) in Vue9 that it won't be compatible with Vue8 anymore.
Thanks! That makes a big difference. I always save the scene while I am working on it so it's good to know that won't modify the object file.

So until I've had a chance to throughly check out V9 I should keep my V8 directory as is? But I can access the V8 content with V9. But if let's say I open a V8 spacecraft in V9, will it change the file so I can no longer use it in V8?
Thread: Time to upgrade? | Forum: Vue
I just ordered sidegrade from V8 Esprit to V9 Studio for $124. I have 30 days to add subscription if I decide it's worth it. Usually in the fall before the next new version comes out they put the old version on sale for half price. So whenever V11 is about to come out I should be able to get V10 at half price and going studio to studio it should be cheaper. I stay one version behind, but that's OK. I'll have to look more closely to see if a subscription is a better deal.
