I didn't found a word in the Bryce3D manual (french version). I couldn't compare rendertime (my actual image is rendering now for four days!) with the gamma off. As Alleycat says "curiouser and curiouser"!
Thread: Gamma correction option? | Forum: Bryce
Thanks for your tests. My render tests (on PC) present the same results: better with the option OFF (more contrast). I've just opened the Real World Bryce 4 book and Susan says (as I understood it) that the gamma correction is a Bryce 4 standard correction (the same for all computers and screens). For her, it's better to leave the Gamma correction option OFF and adjust the image in postwork (with Photoshop or other). Mac and PC seem to have different gestion of ICC profiles, it's perhaps better with mac?.

You can do it (and many other things!) with Morphmanager. In the freestuff (search for "manager").

I totally agree with you but if I use these textures for close-up I'm not satisfied. My idea is to make five or six groups of feathers (in each group the feathers are superimposed). So - with the same size of texture I'll get a better result - with the scan of real feathers I can make a new texture quickly My english is far from perfect but I expect you understand my goal.

Here it is!!! You will find other treasures!!Thread: Silly question about Bryce interface | Forum: Bryce
With my current project, I can take a one year cruise!!! At this point, I really think I'm gonna leave it. :-( I can't render the Neftys "VeryFrench Hair" with simulation of radiosity lights. My next chance is to delete some lights. PS: I made a quick tour of the Bryce manual and the Realworld Book (WOW, what a book!!)and didn't found anything. Thanks for the info.

Sipa: you confirm what I was thinking (also about the accuracy!!!). PS: have you got your renderosity mag? Phantast: About the render to disk option, I think that the percentage is the pixels calculate / total pixel of the image so progression is not linar.

Gazukull, if I understand: 1) spawn morph target from the magnet create a morph target (Breasts for exemple). I can transfer this morph target to the clothing via the Tailor 2) there are supplementary morphs target in the VVFR to get a better clothing. So these to products are not redundant, I'm I right?

Yes about minimizing (my english is far from perfect!). The "funny" thing is, with only Win98 and Bryce running, when I click on the tool bar: the speed of the Bryce's rendering statut bar decrease even if I do anything else. I forgot the "render to disk" option, I'm going to use it. Thanks Agent Smith.

Thanks for all theses informations, I'm gonna compare with mines. It's in the excellent book from Jeremy Birn (Digital Lightning and Rendering) that I learn that we get best lightning when we master everything and disable environnement lightning (sky,...). I really agree with him. Thanks again.

Could you, please, share the way you've done it? I tried to do the same in Bryce 4 but didn't got perfect result: when I use an infinite terrain in the "black" scene, it doesn't merge with the black sky at the horizon. Thanks
