Just a reminder, my original post is a copy of what was first sent to E Frontier. They have everything that I posted here. Immedieately after posting here, I did a clean install and still the same problems as posted above. SreeD was the answer to render problems I encountered in Poser 6. I'll check that against OGL but all problems above were rendered with SreeD. To be more specific this subject should probably be: Poser 7 Output Errors as internally the render seems to go off as planned but is damaged at the moment of output. Thanks for your interest.
Thread: please explain Poser and all these addons. its madness! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You just think its confusing, wait 'til you start using it. ; ) Whatever your reasons for plowing into 3D character work, Poser is the simplest for plug and play for this kind of software. 3DS, Lightwave, Maya, XSI have more power and steeper learning curves. "Pose her like a dolly" ??? That metaphor will work if that is the context you want to work in. Despite it's humble beginnings illustrators are doing some very decent work with it. You won't "need" to buy anything else when you buy Poser. Included content would could most busy for quite some time. You're own desires to do more or add on will develop naturally. That includes developing a desire to never waste another second indoors tweaking dials posing 3D characters. It depends on why you want it. good luck
Thread: How many versions of Poser are you running? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
PPP because that is the main Runtime I use. I never actually fire it up as it is OS9 Poser 6 because it is the most stable. Poser 7 as I am anxious to use it but even with SR1 am having some major deal breaker problems so I have been forced to fall back into using Poser 6. More about that problem in a new thread. Why? As above, I never take off the previous version until I am sure that the new version will fit into the pipeline without stuffing it up. Sad to say Poser 7, while having great features, is stuffing up my pipeline.

Her right hand (without glove) You mentioned you were going to change it, that seems to be the most prominent problem that I notice. To me, the forearm and thumb should stay straight and it is the pinky side of the hand that should break an angle at the forearm in order to look like she's holding the rifle comfortably and still have the other hand close to her body. In her current position right hand position the other hand would have to be further out, away from her chest. my 2 good luck

Just in time too because apparently today is a Post Office holiday (?) Post-Christmas Fatigue?

Malvern Despite the length of times between posts I haven't really done much with it (dinner etc) since. So while I have little to report on changes to the look and feel, I will say it seems to render a lot faster than P6. Render settings themselves have changed in a way that it would be too soon to critique. I was really happy with all the improvements that came with P6 but I had skipped P5 so there were a lot of changes for me that I had long been wishing for. All that to say it looks and feels pretty much like the same Poser. Multiple undo's and "duplicate object" those are two pretty cool new features long awaited. cheers

Melbourne here, mine delivered yesterday, have it on screen as I type. Just stopped by to see if there was any news here that might be a warning, like: DON'T LOAD POSER 7 it will erase ALL RUNTIMES EVERYWHERE!!!!! That would be the most extreme scenario but I'm also looking for any other news people might be posting re: Poser 7. There is a thread over at Daz re: Poser 7 renders don't pass the figure alpha. That is specific to using a background picture where (supposedly) P7 uses the background image as an object and therefore represents it as a full screen alpha. I'm thinking there is going to be a way around this but it is a major issue for people like me who used the previous method P4-PPP-P6 way of compositing over backgrounds and depending on the figure alpha for further work. Hope yours arrives soon. cheers,, don

Thread: Pen and tablets | Forum: Photoshop
Is there any advantage to having a larger tablet over a smaller one? I used to only work on large tablets when there was a resolution advantage. These days they all seem to have 1024 pressure and 5080 lpi resolution so does anyone know why they prefer a larger tablet? Currently I'm using a 6x8 Intuos which has been fine for the amount of paint work I'm doing but been thinking of getting a second tablet rather than dragging the 6x8 from station to station. My Geezer Moment ----------------------- My first tablet not only had a cable attached to the pen but the pen weighed as much as a tattoo drill and had so much electronics in it that it would get really hot when used. The tip was metal and would cause the tablet surface to be replaced often as it would pepper it with little divets where the most popular menu buttons were located. OH! OH! AND, we would have to "comb" it with a large magnetic bar to keep it from causing "runaway vectors". Wierd but true.

Quote - If you can't say something nice or at least constructive, STFU!
That's very funny because "STFU" doesn't seem nice or constructive. : ) For the most part I agree with you, it takes away from your own personal time to leave comments so anyone who makes a comment like that is doing it to gets something out of it. Some kind of sadistic pleasure by denying someone else the joyful pleasure of feedback. In the right context, bad feedback can be great to get, more valuable even.

Try to keep this in context. maciek76 comment "This looks like sh*t" This is an electronic booger dressed up to look like an opinion. We don't know how (s)he really felt about it because he flicked and ran. My guess is he didn't like the subject matter. But that's just a guess on my part. There are volumes of pictures posted here everyday that are (IMO) so much worse than zollster's pic. "Silenced" has been posed and lit which has so much more effort in it than other pics I've seen here. Unless maciek76 took the time to make the same comment on those "poor" pics I doubt his intent is anything more than to feel good in the hope of making someone else feel bad. There are so many reasons for posting pics here. Not everyone wants to be the next Brad Bird or Frank Frazetta. Whatever their reason, they have as much right to post as those who are aspiring to a greater level of expertise. Who has time to grade everyone? Or care to give a grade?

Thanks DrunkMonkey, Next to particles, making crowds was really time consuming for me. There's a bit of fun doing all the different reactions, like you said, and a bit of hard work getting three people to look like twenty different people. I know I will have to work at that problem again. There's a number of people that are just running or recovering from the fire down the street and some trying to get out of her way. I was glad to get down on the street level for a change. The Dystopian Waystations really helped spruce up the detail. Most of the traffic was LW freebies but Thanks to Vampir3Princess for the NightStorm freebie at Daz, I had a car that looked a little more futuristic. thanks again for your interest and comments

ithkinlore, I just upgraded from Pro Pack to Poser 6 last August and have been very happy with the udpates to the gui. You can choose body parts from the parameter dials window (saves you from sliding all the way back across the screen to the main window) Point lights!!! Multiple runtimes with nested folders, this means you can really organize files into groups that make sense to you. The scroll wheel works in the library. Plus the library has a drop down menu so you can pass through several folders without having to open each one and wait for the little icons to load. I held back upgrading through the whole Poser 5 trial and think that Poser 6 is a really good upgrade from Pro Pack.
