Great work Fur! Searching by higher rate brought to light amazing images that were buried inside the galleries (at least for my slow connection). A question: which is the 2nd sort criteria after that one? Apparently all pics with the same rate are displayed out of order by hits & date. Sort by rate made me realize what a extraordinary group of artist we have here!

Yeah! First one: change the name - Brue or Vryce :) Where is the wish list? A prospective buyer.

Thanks for the idea Nuke! The problem with using FOV in this specific case is that I'm placing some Poser figures in the foreground - any perspective distortion would affect them also.

Try this: 1- Make one terrain for the sand with texture. Duplicate it, lower diffusion & ambience, incease spec. & reflection, and move it a bit up and towards the water. In the terrain editor, or better in a paint program, cut both terrains to get a common irregular border. You'll end up with the beach's dry and wet sand. 3- create a water plane and locate it bellow the dry/wet sand's border. 3- Make some very flat round terrains with curved rims. Those are for the water going up and down the beach. In a paint program create some noise around the rims to simulate froth; do the same over the top side - the PhotoShop sponge filter is very good for that. Apply those "water layers" to you beach using some superposition. Choose an altitude dependant texture and edit it to have white at the top, and wathever you are using for water at the bottom. 4- Create some very elongated ellipsoids and apply a volume cloud texture for simulating breaking waves. Sorry for not attaching an image here. They are at my home computer. Email me if you have any doubts.

Never used Rhino Tracy. What if you make some boolean with cilinders along those edges to rond them? I'm sure I've been to some sites with Rhino tutorials, but can't remember where :( My advice: repost your tank and your question to 3D app forum, and don't forget to mention your Rhino problem. Sorry for not beeing able to Help. Nandus

Tracy, To smooth, you must left click on the smooth sphere at the left. You'll see the polygon's count beeing displayed there. Edit/smooth is a weird function. It doesn't smooth some corners in low polygonal count meshes because, as you can't bend a polygon, there's nothing else to smooth. Look at your mesh and try to figure out if it's possible to smooth the corner without bending any triangle. If you already tried angles greater than 90 deg, the only way is to go back to your modeling program and round the corners. BTW, what did you use for modeling?

Tracy, the numbers you see in the edit box are degrees - they limit the maximum angle between 2 faces to smooth. Don't forget to save your work before smoothing. Unsmooth brings you back to triangles! Nandus

Diane, they look better now. What happens is that you never see running tears like a continuous "river". They refect light back in 1 or 2 sites. If you leave the reflections just over the skin's specular areas and darken it in the others, the effect would improve a lot. BTW, you really did that after the firts post? That's fast! Nandus
