...what exactly do you mean by saying "change the map size to at least 1024 or higher"? If you should mean the shadow maps of the different lights in Poser, I have never managed to get them to a higher qualtiy than 1024 - the dials always "jump back" when I try this. You did not mean the shadow maps, did you? Anyway, thanks for the hint with the camera setting :-) Sincerely, Sabine
Thread: More free posable models | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hmm, maybe you should wait some hours before thanking anyone for the comments? I mean, you have posted this at 04:57 and your last meassage was at 07:43... many members of the community are not even awake, lol And, anyway, I disagree. This is the site with the biggest heart that I have ever seen. If you want to, take a look at my gallery and search for a picture called "Why did you hurt us", then you might find out about the reason for my thinking. If you read the comments you might imagine the flood of wonderful emails and IMs that I received after posting this and still receive today! Last not least, both models are wonderful, and as I have said in my mail, I would be lucky to have the dragon (if I am right in time) and think that you are really wonderful to give stuff like that away for free! :-) Sincerely, Sabine
Thread: Difference between Poser- and Bryce-renderings | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
First: I am using Bryce 4, NO volumnetric lights. But just remember: We have 3 maps (color-, bump-, transparency) on the dress at 3000x3000 each here; two textures on the body (bump- and color) at 2500x2500; three hair maps (c/b/t) at 1500x1500) and rwo at 3000x3000 on the amazone palace in the background. This takes ime to render in Bryce! Of course the netting is achieved with a transparency map; how would you do that with a bump map? And I always render the final pictures in Poser and Bryce at 300 dpi. Oh, and, of course, there is more than one light in both scenes. Where, do you think, does - for example - the light on the back wall come from? What I was just so surprised about is that both pictures show these big differences in the dress mapping and the wall mapping. Sincerely, Sabine
Thread: Where can I find... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
...Phil, washing machines eat socks. If you put 10 pairs of socks into a washing machine, there will definitely come out only 8 pairs, three more completely different single socks and one sock will (at least) always be missing. If you put the socks into a drier after washing, the 8 complete pairs will turn into 6 pairs and 4 completely single socks, and from the three different socks two will turn into a perfect matching pair and the third will disappear, because driers also eat socks. This is not the way to find socks, this is a perfect way to loose socks. Cheers :-) Sabine

...creating different color-, bump- and transparency maps for the socks that you have? You could come up with at least a hundred different varietys :-) HTH, sincerely, Sabine
Thread: Another Great CONTEST | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Oh great thank you! This is actually the first thing that I have ever won by doing these pictures :-)
Thread: Should I extend this months challenge? | Forum: Challenge Arena
Yes, a little more time would be great. I have something good in my mind, but just do not have the "head" to get it to paper, uhm, Poser at the moment.

Thread: *.3DMF to *.3DS? | Forum: Bryce
The problem with Polytrans is that the demo version (downloadable at http://www.okino.com) is missing every 5th polygon when a mesh is exported; so I cannot use that; and as I have only two (!) files to convert I am not willing to pay the $395 for the PC version just for having TWO FILES converted! The other one, 3D Explorer, would be just fine if it would do what it is told to do on the website! The website says that *.3dmf and also *.3ds files are supported, but the *.3dmf files are not, as far as I can see. But because the registration fee is here at about $40, I have written to them asking if this depends on the evaluation version or not. I will see if they answer. Thanks even though; maybe someone else of you has some other ideas...? Sabine
Thread: Error creating AVI-File | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
No success with de- / reinstalling the multimedia components. Also tried updating on Media player 7, same success (none). Where do I set up the .avi Codecs? Maybe I am just stoopid, but I cannot find this... Ahrg! I only have 4 days left if I want to finish this project in time, and if I reinstall windows, what I am slowly but surely afraid that I have to, it will take me at least two days if I work full time on it which I cannot because I have some other things to do as well... Anyone having other ideas? Or maybe a description WHAT could be corrupt with my registry entries? Kind regards Sabine
Thread: Error creating AVI-File | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Wonderful files - but - I have seen what the problem is, but cannot solve it with the .key-file, as I cannot import it to my registry editors (seems to be NT-specific; I would need files ending on *.reg, not *.key!) Trying to read the .key file with a notepad did not get me further either. Maybe someone can mail the correct registry entries (.txt or a screenshot of the registry tree or something - I just need to know the correct entries and where they should be) for AVIfile so that I can change them by hand? I have the usual regedit.exe as well as the Norton Registry editor, so this should not be a problem :-) Thanks in advance! Sabine
