Hi gang, just a follow up on my former problem, E-onsoftware now has the extraplantfix.zip (didn't have it posted until today)-and yes, the fix WORKS. I can import Alien and editplants all day long now without VUE 5 crashing---Again Peten, thanks. Plutom

Yep, I think I'll stick with .PZ3 files since I can import flawlessly import them into VUE without any hassle. Just wanted to know if there was a quick and dirty on importing .obj etc files into VUE. From your replies, I don't think there is any. Plutom

I just purchased the Vue5,Poser5,and Mover5 power bundle. I too have problems importing Poser .obj, 3d Studio,Lightwave and Wavefront.OBJ figures into VUE. I get messages that the Vue 5 program can't find skin, clothing etc in VUE 5 directory. I have to manually search the location of each file within Poser and can finally get everything except hair. PZ3 imports are not a problem. I'm sorry if I'm infringing on a thread (a newbie). Plutom

Hi, I'm extremely new too. However, if you have Poser 5; you can make your own dynamic clothing--somewhat. Look in your primitive section and locate that square piece of Hi res square cloth. You can drape that puppy over anything, shoulders, hips, chest, furniture, etc. It sort of looks like a toga if you do full length. However if you do say the chest, hips, thighs separately, it sort of looks fairly decent. I'm been having fun with it the last couple of days. Within a few days you can do your own nun's habit and you will learn the Cloth room. Plutom

Thanks Steven---I'm beginning to think that there is a lot of material in Poser that is not for the faint of heart--sort of like an adventure game where you can't get there from here--groan. Plutom

Hi Steven, Thanks, now I know it can be done and by which methods. Been into Poser for 7 days now and haven't studied that yet-that's definitely on the top of my list now. Groan---Thanks Plutom

I'm just a newbee, but you got me thinking about this. Try bringing up a new picture and delete the character in it so that you have a blank screen, then go and load a skull cap. You can stretch it etc, then simply grow hair on it like you normal would. Makes pretty good grass. Haven't tried it yet, but maybe you can link it to a portion of a body, hip, leg, toes etc. Hmmm might just try that crazy idea---Plutom

I'm finding out that with hair involved, everything slows down real fast. Since I'm new to this game, I'm experimenting with just the Hi Res Judy 5 model, then I can save her and the hair in the hair gallery and pull the hair out when necessary--still working that room as well as the "CLOTH" room! I think I'm going to cheat and paste all characters, props VUE 5 scenery into PSP and build my scene there. errg Plutom

Hmmm, have you tried the stock hair styles to see if you have the same problem? Next question, where are you saving the hair and character? Another problem could be that your RAM is not clearing itself after you've been using it for some time. Try a reboot (clears RAM cache)and see if that helps. PlutoM

I'm a newbie too, just got my software last week. However, I found a quick and dirty about posing figures with dynamic clothes (since the material separates, I assume too that you are using the cloth room). Here is the website www.render-lab.com/Dynamic_Clothes.htm. It's just 13 steps. Just read each step very carefully (when he speaks about going to frame 5, look at the bottom of your screen. There is funny looking bar, click on it to display the motion frames, increase the counter to 5. P.S. down load the instructions and landscape format (only four pages). You may want to reboot your computer before bringing up Poser (rationale, sometimes RAM memory gets clogged up while using XP plus Poser plus serfing and doesn't clear after you close programs. This will speed up your Poser processing of your subject. Plutom
