I am away from my Poser computer on business till Friday night, so this is off the top of my head. But in the case of V4 there is a init script supplied by DAZ you have to run that loads-sets the moprhs channels in the main V4 character that has to be in the base runtime and in the same folder name that Daz installed V4 under. Move V4 or rename the folder and the init won't run right. After you have confirmed the morphs work after injecting them (a second step) then you can move V4 to the runtime of your choice or rename the folder she is in. The init program rewrites-alters the cr2 file. Make sure you don't have mulitple copies of V4 in your runtimes. One with the Daz modified cr2 and the other without.
One way to check that the init worked properly is to select the body actor and dial the breast moprphs form there. (the way it should work). The other is to select the chest actor and dial from there. If they work in the chest actor and not the body actor then the init of V4 is hosed and you have to redo.
Plus make sure you selected V4 and not the bits when you injected the breast moprhs into V4. This is a common error I make all the time. Wrong thing selected when I inject. Some 3rd party breast morphs don't work form the body and have to be dialed from the chest. 3rd party magnet breast morphs you will most likley have to dial the magnet found under props and make sure they are parented to V4 and not the bits.

Agree with Markshum regarding the hands and posing them to hold onto something. Where this really works well is when you need to position all 4 limbs like riding a bicycle or a motorcycle. Speeds up getting the feet positioned on the peddles of the bicycle or foot pegs of a motorcycle in addition to the hands on the handlebars.
I am not a score keeper and others with more knowledge can maybe help here. In you sig it says you are using Poser 8. Older versions via my experience had the on off jumping issue at random times. But from PP2012 or PP2014 I can't remember that issue and turn IK on and off all the time with no issues in more recent verisons.
Does anybody remember any kind of recent changes to IK in say Poser 9 or after?

You people forgetting one key point...
A forest ranger? Oh great. Let's see her crash and sprain her ankle when she jumps from a tree. A trooper? "Girls! Wait for me! I just broke a heel". That will help under heavy fire. Also, let's not forget the catburglar/infiltrator agent with that really cool skntight catsuit. High heels will clap-clap happily on the pavement of that high-security facility/museum. And she'll break a couple legs too when she'll rappel down from the ceiling.
We have all wittnessed Vicky completely nakkid except for a pair of spiked heels slay numerous dragons in a more temples then you can count with a huge heavy sword in just one hand. Vicki jumping out of trees or being a cat burgler or climbing down a rope in nothing but a pair of spikes is childs play compared to slaying dragons while dating Alan Alda :thumbupboth:

Quote - Does the "Lock Actor" work for M4 as well? Cheers
The lock actor works on all actor parts of any figure, so yes it works on M4

The Poser morph brush has push and pull and now transcends body zones. I am sure JoePublic or Cage could figure out how to get the skinny girl and Kim in and out of Poser....problem solved!
Edited to add and you could sell the moprhs you created in the market place for other girls to use also!

Look under your scripts menu under partners and see if you have the netherworks PoseWriter Panel that has come with the last couple of versions of Poser. It allows you to save off just selected body parts, and has check boxes to select just Tranlsations, Rotations, Morphs or Scales or any comb of those 4 you want. I use it all the time to do what I think you are wanting to do.

The phil C method is used on a lot of dresses that have handles that show up in the pose room but not in the render.

The question comes down to what you are doing with your art?
Advertising? A book cover? Poster to sell a product? think advertising companies. The people they typically use are not ugly, homely, etc.
In the galleries here, illustrate a story then vareity is what works and you need homely plan janes to make it work. That said illustrate a story for the place you can't mention here with a 50 year old looking V4 is not the fantasty character that is going to draw in readers.
In my opinion each has it place depending on the project at hand and the target you are trying to reach.

I am burning up my computer generating renders for some stories I illustrate for friends. I don't have as much time to visit the forums as I used too. Working longer hours with a group of staff trying to help the company generate new sales and get growing again.
The ecoonomy isn't exactly stellar. Lots of layoffs announced the last 2 weeks here in the US: Radio Shack, Disney, Staples to name some big ones. I think the economy has to get better before the hobbiest flourish here again.
My 2 cents, less inflation (means it's not worth much)

Thread: Scale Comparison Chart for Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
How high is up? How low is down?....there has been a debate for many many years on just how tall each character is. There has always been huge disagreement and massive debate over exactly how tall any poser compatible character is.
My suggestion is grab a ruler prop from say Dr. Geep or Phil C or any of the others out there and use it to scale your characters in reference to each other. It doesn't matter if V4 is 6-0, 5-11 or whatever as long as you yourself create a reference scale for your rendered artwork. Meaning if you you use the same ruler for everything and think M4 is 6-2, and you want V4 to be 5-7 with M4 in the same scene, you bring in the ruler you have choosen and start scaling away to the relative height to each character in your scene.
If we all wanted exact precision with no disagreements on character heights, we would be using Solidworks, ProE or AutoCad and not Poser. Art in a general sense is not precise.

Thread: OT-Barbie Doll cover of SI Swinsuit edition, when will Vicki make the cover | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Vicki will be on the cover when they sell 16 million copies each year, which is how many Barbies are sold.
BTW, her full name is Barbara Millicent Roberts, and she was designed by Ruth Handler...
Edited because of my bad math...
16 million Barbies sold a year after all this time, who knew!
But it the case of Vicki, they should change that to when the 16th millionth bikini to fit any Vicki character is released into the marketplace. My credit card tells me we are fast approaching that number! :crying:
