Ok, I liked the eBots better than the new Site Notifications Daily Digest, but I'm willing to live with it. However,
Don't send me a Daily Digest if there's nothing to report!
For the past two days I've received Daily Digest e-mails saying "There are no new notifications." I could deduce that information myself by simply not receiving an e-mail.
I beg you to please at least implement this change if you aren't willing to let us have individual notification eBot emails anymore.
The eBots were still better because they were more or less real time. I could keep track of my friends galleries and my own commented images and respond to them at my leisure. Now, I have to wait up to 24 hours later for a single (potentially) massive e-mail to arrive.

Thread: One more Day left and it's Poser Pro 2012 Time | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, I got it to work in Firefox. I couldn't get those links to work in Internet Explorer 9 to work for my life. It must have something to do with the automatic redirect that they try to do.

I can't get my voucher for Pro to work. I've tried adding both the Upgrade version that I bought to my cart and the full version from the link provided in the PDF. The voucher doesn't work with either.
Which product did you all buy and add to your cart?
Pretty disappointed...I guess I'll have to call them tomorrow morning or something.

Thread: Anyone have Windows 7 yet? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I spent all evening installing it and all my programs last night. Running 64-bit Pro here, coming off of over two years on Vista (32-bit for a year and 64-bit for a year and a half). Runs like a charm. Did a clean install. Poser (6, 7, Pro) and Vue (7) both run great! So does WoW. he he :)

Thread: Poser 8 promo.. Are things going bad ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I was woken up at 9:00AM this morning by a phone call from Smith Micro trying to get my to buy a Poser 8 upgrade, and they were even going to throw in Wardrobe Wizard 2.0 (which I already own) and StuffIt. I told them that I rely upon many of the Poser Pro features (64-bit renderer, Render in Background, Render Queue) for my artwork and that I won't be buying anything until Poser Pro 2010 shows up.
I didn't mention that I'm semi-seriously looking at switching over to DS3A these days.

Thread: Dealing with Distortion on Texture Maps | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks everyone for their responses so far. Believe it or not, Miss Nancy, I did do a search before I posted my question - several searches in fact (texture mapping, tattoos, decals, distortion, uv map, making textures, etc.) and came up with nothing of use.
As for planar mapping, perhaps I'm calling the projection of the unwrapped mesh by the wrong name, but V4's is not the easiest UV map to work with for a beginner.
I tried out the demo of 3DCoat, and perhaps I'm not using it right, but the results are far less than what I'm looking for. I was trying to use a hi-res PNG as a decal of sorts to apply to a texture on V4 that I already have using both the paint tool (following the paint picture tutorial on their site), and the spline picture tool (using the paint patterns tool). Both came out very splotchy and uneven and blended poorly with the original texture underneath.
The link to DecalMaster looks very promising, and the price isn't bad either. I'll be checking out Blacksmith3D's offering tonight.
All tips, suggestions, insights, and directions to tutorials or tools are still very much welcome!

Thread: Furries > Poser Artists? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
No, Winterclaw, what you describe is known as Kemonomimi. For "furry" think more fully anthropomorphic animals like Bugs Bunny, or Sonic the Hedgehog. It doesn't have to be mammals either. It could be reptiles, fish, whales - anything that's an animal.
Personally, I don't think Twi'leks count because they're not animal-like. Now, Togorians, or Trandoshans, maybe even Wookiees would count.

Thread: Furries > Poser Artists? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Oh, I do. I think there's two things at play:
2) Jealousy - not of the artwork but of the attention received. Why should something seen as cheating or a shortcut receive the attention it does?
Would I ever say that what I do here is as impressive, as difficult, or as admirable as real artists that create works from scratch - 2D, 3D, digital or otherwise? Hell no. But I wouldn't declare everything done within the application of Poser as unworthy of being called art and ban it from a gallery (who's theme is not strictly focused on showcasing artist skill). But that's not the focus of their gallery - it's furry art.

So, now that Poser 7 is post SR3 it's gotten rid of that weird tiled look on certain shadered materials, but it's still present in those materials in Poser Pro. Ambient Occlusion is more spotty in Poser Pro also. Take a look at the attached link of a shot rendered in Poser 7 SR3 and Poser Pro.Do we know if an SR is on the way for Poser Pro to fix the issue there too?

Thread: Poser Pro Shader Discrepancies | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Interesting. I had thought that the sort of checkerboarding/striping problems were due to the model, not P7 itself. Well it's good to know that should be fixed in the future. Sad about the particular look of the velvet shader being permanently changed though. I'll have to work on tweaking it more.

Thread: Unfortunately, need artist blacklisting and age content advisory | Forum: Community Center
Nudity may be banned in thumbnails, but according to the powers that be here, a gigantic boob w/ a wee tiny little pasty over the nipple or a gigantic boob with the nipple barely out of frame aren't nudity. (However, a hand fully covering a breast, is still nudity.)

Thanks for all the replies. So is the bug in Poser 7 that the noise node does not interact correctly with displacement?
