I've noticed problems with morphs not working correctly, and sometimes even not loading correctly. If I start with a blank scene, add "The Girl" and then inject morphs, sometimes they work, sometimes not. I haven't figured it out yet - anyone else run into this?
Thread: What do you guys think of this? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Looks good! Interesting based on the replies, everyone imagines this at a different scale... One constructive critique... The water seems to have rounded edges inside the glass which gives it a meniscus appearance (like mercury does in a tube...) If this is very small scale, that might be accurate for a liquid metal like mercury, but water usually has a concave rather than convex meniscus. If it's a large scale item, the curve would be so small in reality, that simply making the top flat at the edges would have the right effect. I think you can improve the water texture also but you might have to make two objects - one top flat disk and another cylinder for the sides. I think the recent water tutorials really apply to looking at water from the top. The texture that you've used on the sides makes the water look very turbulent. It's actually a cool effect, and might work great in a lava-lamp type thing (maybe even with different colors!) One last tip - just before you're done, edit the glass reflection map - that's the standard P5 one, Just make something in photoshop (or similar program) that looks somewhat similar, but is a bit varied (so that your map is unique).
Thread: Just a thought about a biblical art forum. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I agree with Lorraine and find it interesting that there is such a need for inclusion of all religious beliefs and even the absence of religious beliefs in any such proposal. That said, I don't think that this is the place to debate religion. Its a place to share art and artistic techniques. One of my individual uses for Poser and other computer graphic applications is Biblical art. I have used art from Poser, etc. for teaching classes to teens, illustrating scripture (Bible), providing illustration to accompany singing in a worship assembly. I would love to see a place (be it here or elsewhere) that allows sharing of images, models, and ideas for such use. To answer the question, sounds like a good idea.
Thread: problem with textures importing poser animation in max | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think the problem may be with the SR version that you have of the propack. I use P5 now, but I remember a problem like this when I used to use the propack. It's important to make sure that you have the last Service Release (I think it's 3), and that the Max plugin is for that release.

Thread: I've done something today I have not done in years because of Poser!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Interesting... I have found myself looking for features on people that I want to use someday in a figure in Poser... I used to use Bryce more than I do now, and during that time, I was looking at almost every scene in the day and almost every texture that I encountered through different eyes... I think that this world helps me see the real world more clearly, and to appreciate it more!

I assume that you are demonstrating movement at the Left Shoulder joint. If so, it seems that there are some polys in the arm geometry which are not grouped with either the shoulder or the arm (or hand...)

This is perhaps the worst violation of this portion of the TOS that I've seen. Mods - step up to the plate on this one, (as you usually do so well). From the TOS - restricted activities: "Personal attacks. This includes but is not limited to, destructive, abusive, defamatory communications in any form, and retaliatory attacks from personal attacks. If you need assistance, please communicate with someone from our Renderosity Team. Destructive commentary/communications made with the intent to disrupt or attack (Trolling). This applies to any communications within this community, whether in the forums, art galleries, graffiti wall, chat, or IM."
Thread: Umm. Why is Khrys attacking me? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't understand why this thread is here... The purpose of this thread seems simply to bring the other referenced thread to everyone's attention and create much more public discussion about it all. I know neither party involved, but it seems like a matter that should be solved with civil, calm discussion in private.

I was struck with the similiarity to a "Star Wars" robot also. I was thinking of the one that Darth Vader was about to use on the Princess on the Death Star...

If P5 could simulate the sun better, you could burn a hole in your background with that thing! grin

Maybe not smoother, but just smaller scale textures (same bumps, just smaller) Great modeling!
Thread: Will there be a Stephanie 2? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I bet that Stephanie was only an in-between spanning V2 and V3 in time. I may be wrong, but I doubt there will be more Stephanie development (at least in the near future)
