Quote - They were'nt all that clear, I must admit. However, it has never been the case that old clothing would fit a figure with new morphs. Every time you buy a figure with a super-duper specially custom morphed body, it is a pain fitting conforming clothes. They did say that A4 was a morph of V4. And, since the head and body morph independently, you can have an A4 figure wearing V4 clothes by no using the A4 morphs in the body, so you get an A4V4. (As a matter of fact, this is a lot better than the usual V4V3, or V3V2 sort of hybrid, since the body will take the V4 morphs. If you are still all that ticked off, ask DAZ for a refund, you have 30 days.
That's actually a pretty good point. I hadn't thought of that. So the problem isn't as bad as I thought. (It's still annoying that it wasn't made clear in the advertising though.)
Thanks for that response!
Thread: What is the point of Aiko 4??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Aiko and Victoria have always been close, but now they are virtually (no pun intended) inseparable! With this new release, Aiko is so multi-talented you won’t know what feature to try first. Delivered as a powerful set of morph targets which work on top of the solid Victoria 4.2 base, Aiko 4 contains four new body shapes, five new head shapes, and dozens of new morphs which can easily mix and match with each other AND with Victoria head and body morphs. Aiko 4 works in tandem with Victoria 4.2 add-ons such as clothing, hairstyles, morphs, and accessories. This means you are getting maximum versatility and compatibility for minimum expense.
I have to say, now I'm ticked off.
I've been away from Poserdom for a while now, but when I got the e-mail about A4, I figured, what the heck, I'll dive back in. (I was missing Poser a bit anyway.)
So I bought A4, and installed her yesterday. I haven't had a chance to open Poser yet.
So now I find out that she needs magnets to use V4 clothing? Seriously? (And I spent the big money on the "Pro" pack.)
It didn't bother to mention that anywhere in the product advertising. Actually, it was written to imply that you could just interchange the clothes at will. So now I have to spend another $6 on the magnets? GTFOH. (And while $6 may be a relatively small number, that's after spending the almost seventy bucks on the "Pro" package in the first place. Some pro version that turned out to be.)
That is my last Daz purchase for the foreseeable future. I'm absolutely disgusted. I guess that serves me right for falling for the "early adopter" trap, right? Well, I won't have to worry about that again.
Sorry for the rant, but to me, that's pretty shady.

Well, I guess the final answer to this question is "we shall see."
Those who just want to bash e-F are going to continue to do so, regardless of the evidence against them.
To begin with, I've had a couple crashes in all the years I've been using Poser, and that was due to overloading the scene. That's MY fault, not whoever the producer of Poser was at that point. So all of this BS bug talk is just that, BS. If the problem is relegated solely to you, it's not "fixable," and therefore not a bug. If a select few forum posters group up and complain about the same "bug" that still does not validate it. If it cannot be reproduced by the testing base, then it's probably something that select group is doing wrong. (Sorry, but when the complainers regarding bugs are the same names over and over, it tends to look a bit fishy.) If you honestly believe you've found a bug, submit it. I know for absolute fact that e-F takes bug reports seriously, and works diligently to fix anything that can be reproduced.
I noticed that the point that D|S and other Daz products are being supported via content channels was totally ignored. Plus, these features that are comparable to Poser's features are "add-ons" and require additional costs.
That's not to mention the plethora of content packaged with Poser. I see people using Poser's price point as a matter of contention. Well, when you compare the price of Poser to the price of D|S, make sure you add in the cost of a fully morphable V4 to compare to Jessi. Add in the same fully morphable V3 to compare to Judy. Add a M3 in to compare to James.
Oh wait, I also got Koshini, and LaRoo with P7. Add in a full Aiko3 package, and we'll call that square. (Who's left to compare with Sydney though? And the kids?)
Wait, do you get a 6-month subscription to the Platinum club @ Daz with D|S? I got my Content Paradise membership with P7.
Let's also not forget that CP offers a new freebie every month to everyone who owns a legit copy of Poser.
And before someone says that Jessi doesn't compare to Vicky, don't even bother. Even if you don't personally like a figure, it doesn't make it a poor offering.
I could go on and on, but it won't matter. Those who want to whine will continue to do so, regardless of what is presented counter to their arguments. If you don't like Poser, just stop using it. Enjoy D|S, enjoy Carrara, enjoy Bryce, Hexagon, and whatever else Daz puts out.
But don't start threads in the Poser forum about them. Here's some interesting stats:

Thread: 64-bit Poser Pro announced. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Dudes, you talk a lot
I simply hate 'Professional' word added to new Poser. Perhaps marketing people at eF thought 'Professional' word convert Poser in a serious 3D software (taking sounds of previous 'professional' versions of software like Office, XP, Nero Burning-Rom, etc). Using poser content in Carrara, 3DMax or Maya doesn't convert a software in professional, but its result. I mean: a software fully functional without waiting a second SR pack
I'll follow earn money with my 'unprofessional' Poser7 by the moment  :P

Interesting. Did you also have a problem with Poser 4 ProPack? :b_unbelievable:
Thread: Poser Pro | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm with Xenophonz and Gareee on this one. What are people complaining about? They're coming out with an addition to the P7 you already use.
As for "well this 'pro' stuff should be in Poser 7 to begin with." Please. The app's price would have been double what P6 cost you, and you would have had a fit over that.
You know what I think the problem in Poserdom is? The sheer amount of free resources available to the user base. I've noticed this same thing in regard to music and movies ever since the advent of P2P "sharing."
People seem to feel they are entitled to more than they are willing to legitimately pay for. Sorry, but the first responsibility of a business is to make money, not make the user base happy by giving away the store.
If these features are important enough to you, then you'll "find" the money to pay for them, just as you "found" money to pay for P7, which many seem to believe wasn't much more than a P6.5 anyway. (Which itself was supposedly just P5.5, but that's enough of that.) If those features are not important to you, then you get to just stick with Poser 7.
e-Frontier has not left anyone out in the cold. They've simply listened to what the general community wants, and wrote code to fill those desires. Is it any coincidence that the main features of this Pro version are the same ones discussed in the recent survey they conducted?
It's true people will complain about anything, but in this case, it's truly unfounded. e-F is providing a new set of tools on a higher tier for their big product. Maybe they should just go open source and start giving away the software? Would that make people happy?

Quote - I'm looking forward to this one. Who knows? Perhaps Poser will even get some respect..........
But of course: we are no doubt talking a good bit more of a cash outlay than has traditionally been the case with Poser. With some hobbyists already grousing over the cost of P7: this one will probably cause apoplexy in a few instances. But highend users should be happy. They'll now be able to acknowledge that they've got Poser installed on their machines -- because it will have cost them enough to be worth bragging about.
I have little doubt that this new professional version of Poser will be worth the expense. But I've always thought that Poser was worth the expense.

This is exciting news. Now I have to start considering a way to get my hands on a 64-bit machine...

Thread: Poser 7 render settings | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Heh, these days, anti-virus/anti-spyware has become as much a nuisance as the crap it's supposed to be fighting.
Congrats on your success!
Thread: Poser 7 render settings | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Propschick, what sort of system are you running? Do you have at least 2GB of RAM? A fairly fast processor? Lots of hard drive space?
These are considerations, since Poser loves to consume system resources.
If you have ample resources, here is what I would suggest you do.
From the settings you posted, I would increase the Bucket Size, and the Min Displacement Bounds, unless you have a specific reason for having such a high displacement setting. Considering you mentioned you haven't touched the Mat Room, I'll assume you aren't doing any displacement. In that case, set the Min Bounds to a number like 1.000, to stop the render engine from trying to make those calculations unnecessarily.
HTH!
Thread: E-frontier kills Amapi | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Amapi was one of the first modellers I ever tried. I wasn't very comfortable with the interface, and I'm a terrible modeller, so I gave up on it.
Still, sad to see it go. I had been thinking about trying it out again. Ah well. Good luck to the programmers looking for new work though. I hate seeing people lose their jobs.

Thread: Python script: hide everything BUT?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - destro, I still dont quite get what your script is supposed to do...
:/
It should basically do what Ockham's version did, with the additional bonus of cycling through the scene, turning off visibility for each figure but one, then rendering and saving that image.
You should find a folder on your C: drive named Poser_Renders, and inside that folder, should be a bunch of folders. Inside those folders should be a bunch of images, which would be the renders.
Honestly, I have no idea whether the script actually works or not, since I never ran it. I wrote it at work, so it may have no functionality at all.
