Hallo,
as suspected, someone must have solved this problem before. By coincidence I figured out, that some characters have a material setup that fixes especially this problem and doesn't serve any other discernible purpose:
This black image does absolutely nothing to the render. It only makes the eyes visible in OpenGL preview. Well, problem solved :-)
Bye,

Thread: Preview Problem with OpenGL | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
Hello Y-Phil,
thanks for your reply. But this has nothing to do with characters or the light settings but is a general problem with transparency:
I also updated my drivers but this didn't change anything.
And as far as I remember I had the same problem for a long time mith my old Poser Pro 2014 and Windows 8 (with the same hardware, however).
By the way, has anyone a recommendation for a graphics card which is fast and doesn't make any trouble? Maybe I should get myself a new one.
Thanks,
Kyraia

A couple of years ago I bought myself Manga Studio Ex 4.0 from a really cheap special offer. It is a nice and quite powerful program but the support for german Umlauts is close to zero. They can be inserted one by one through some cumbersome sub-submenu or so, but it is not really feasible so I stopped using it after a time :-(

OK, meanwhile I figured out that it depends on the IK chains. In the image above the IK chains end in the toes. When I let them end in the feet it works better
Thread: Walk Designer for self created character | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hello PhilC,
thanks for your reply.
If your body parts are named the same as those of standard Poser figures then you can use the walk designer as a starting point.
Well, that was not so good:
Although you may be better off starting from scratch manually.
So that means the Walk designer cannot be customized for non standard figures? What a shame. Has this never been tried before? I can impossibly be the first one who wants to do something like this ...

Thread: Load Morph Target Problem with Poser pro 2014 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hello again,
Which figure is it?
I called her Mango but since I am just creating her you wouldn't know.
Unfortunately, your suggestions didn't help, but I noticed something else. Mango has a brand new geometry, but I re-used a skeleton (from LaRoo, I think). Now, I created a new skeleton from scratch, and with this the distortion doesn't happen. I have no idea how this skeleton transfer introduces a distortion like that, and as I mentioned before, it is even different for each body part. Every part goes into a different direction, but the distortin is always very small. If someone from the Poser developers read this thread and want to analyze this I can send them the stuff, since now I have two Mangos, one with and one without the distortion. Otherwise, this will probably remain a mystery.

Hello EldritchCellar,
thank you for your reply.
Need more information about how you created the morphs.
This distortion appears even if I don't create anything. All it takes to reproduce it is the following: load figure -> export a body part as morph target -> load this as morph target back into the body part (without any processing in any application so the data is never changed). If I do that with another character (tried with Vicky 2 and others) I can scale the new morph up as much as I want and everything remains in place.

Hello cspear,
That depends on how you 'open' the scene from the library
Cool. It works as you say. Thanks a lot!
Thread: Andrew Price's UI proposal | Forum: Blender
Andrew's suggestions are great.
The current user interface may be good for the 1% hardcore Blender users. It makes things quite difficult for the - let's say - 19% occasional users like me, and it succesfully prevents the other 80% who would gladly like to use Blender but simply can't because the UI doesn't let them.
I have put quite a lot of effort into learning the UI but still I say: discard this disastrous thing as soon as possible and make a good one. PLEASE!
Thread: Feature requests for Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Some environment stuff like terrain, trees, sky with clouds etc. would be nice. I can do all this in Blender, but having it natively in Poser would be great since Poser is MUCH easier to use than Blender, at least for occasional users like me.
Especially terrains should be a piece of cace since you need only a plane, a greyscale displacement map, some realistic looking textures and a set of parameter dials to adjust all of this ...
And by the way: I have been using Poser since version 3 and it is getting better an better. I really love it!
Thread: Newbie trying to put up a background image | Forum: Blender
try this (in Blender 2.71): World -> Surface: Background, Color: Environment Texture
I took a landscape from cgtextures.com in the example (which is unfortunately not tiled so what you see depends on the view angle).
Note: the background is only visible in rendered preview!

Cool! It worked. Thanks a lot.
When doing this with an object like the leaves on a tree be prepared to wait awhile for your computer to process this command as it can take some time due to the number of objects that need separating.
Actually, I wanted to use this for an autumn or winter tree which doesn't have many leafs.

Thread: Bug or beginner's problem? | Forum: Blender
Hello everyone,
it seems I found the solution: I updated the graphic driver!
By the way, my PC at home has Windows 8.1 and as it seems Blender is running quite well (although I haven't tested it much yet).
Thanks for your help,
Kyraia
Thread: Bug or beginner's problem? | Forum: Blender
Hello Lobo3433,
actually, it seems to be a problem with the PC because I tried Blender on a different PC and there are no problems.
Maybe I find out some more details later.
Thanks so far,
Kyraia
