Thanks for the replies. I was trying to avoid the copy/paste screen scraping approach, but I guess I'll have to go that route.
Thread: Daz Studio 4.9 Big Changes Incoming!! | Forum: DAZ|Studio
They're converting Studio into another storefront. The ability to render the content you buy from them is becoming its secondary purpose. The main goal is to make advertising to the users prominent and make purchasing seamless. They'll get more impulse buys than ever before. "Hey your scene has V7 and some ropes in it - click here to buy some chains, whip cream and a new S&M outfit which will be automatically installed and populated into your scene." That's where this is going. They could have done tons of things to fix how users install their content to achieve their purported goal of addressing all the "I can't find my stuff" support tickets they're whining about - integrating directly with the store isn't necessary for that.

The cloud part is undesirable. I don't want my content across the network. I don't need my software phoning home. I don't want things I paid for DRM'ed. I won't take any release of Studio with that in it (as is the current plan for 4.9) and I won't buy any content from DAZ that is DRM'ed (which is the stated future DAZ content delivery plan).
Thread: testing scripts - need to restart Poser? | Forum: Poser Python Scripting
I think reload may be the thing for my debugging purposes. I'll give that a try.
Thanks.
Quote - Those are regular python , that is Not part of the poser methods.
look at www.python.org for the manuals. You want the Library Referance section.
imp (import) and reload are in the index.
I dont know if they apply to what you are doing.

I'm not using any explicit calls to tKinter or wx, but I am using some of the dialog boxes specified in the poser python API. Do you think that will be a problem.
Quote - I hope it will be written so as to work in Poser 9 / 2012 and on a Mac. The Mac version of Poser 9 / 2012 does not handle tKinter-based puthon scripts at all in 64-bit mode, and worse in 32-bit node because it makes Poser useless when you try it. At least in 64 mode you just get an error message.
Developers have had success (Shaderworks is one) by avoiding the tKinter mess altogether and updating their scripts in wx Python.

Actually, I've hard coded them for now, the expressions and features are each in their own separate list(s). But putting them in files is a better idea. I'll have to figure out a good way of doing that. Maybe a JSON formatted file including the figure name and the two lists...
Quote - This sounds like a very good idea!
How do you handle the division of the morphs? Do you store lists of expression and feature morphs in editable text files?

Do you have any idea if it's part of Poser Pro 2010's API? I can't find either in the documentation.
Thanks everyone for the replies.
Quote - Its regular Python.

I couldn't find this in the poser python manual (poser pro 2010) - is it a regular python library call?
Quote - there is a reload() or inp functions to reload an imported module. check the manual to see if it applies to your code.

why bookmark?
there's a Subscribe option there points at base of post
So I can find the thread more easily using search. Is there a way to list the threads you've subscribed to?
Thread: Poser 2010 vs Poser 8? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
So is it safe to say it's worth the extra $120 to cross grade to Pro 2010 rather than 8 from 6? The GC alone looks like it might add years back to my life spent compensating for underexposed lights.

I assume we're talking about her left hand, and that you want it to be a fist?
I notice that when I used some 3rd party hand/pose files this can happen. I think something goes wrong with how the geometry is affected by the file. Occasionally it gets fixed simply by clicking on the affected part in the pose room - not sure why, someone else might be able to explain it better. If that doesn't work I usually try zeroing the figure using the hierarchy editor and then applying a different pose/hand file.
Best of luck.
Thread: Glowing Nostrils - again | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think this gets it. I had it set to .600. Putting it at .300 seems to have solved it.
Thanks Sam, you're the best!

Personally I still just take about 10 seconds and fix it in post work using the burn tool.
Wash yer mouth out!
Adjust Shadow Min Bias on your shadow casting lights to 0.25. That should cure it.

Thanks for the help gentlemen, I'll give your ideas a shot when I get a chance (apparently every day isn't a holliday for me).
