I only have the one myself but I know some of the other dog walkers around here to talk to, some of them might let me point a camera at their canine companions. It's just a bit random who I meet in any given week of walkies (and whether it's tipping down with rain). From my recollections of teaching labs to 'shake', they have proportionally wider paws with more rounded toes (which makes the claws seem less prominent), and the two center toes don't have the claws so close together, much more like a toon-ish or generic dog paw than the whippet/greyhound paw. My dog's paw's width is about half the height of my palm; labradors of the same height as my dog or a little shorter have paws that fill my palm, so about twice the width of the whippet.
A species like a dog is always going to be a problem for morphs because humans have developed them into so very many shapes- how similar is a dachshund to a mastiff? It may not be possible to come up with one model that does everything. In terms of a 'generic' dog, dogs themselves revert to a very similar type where you get breeding feral populations, regardless of where that population is and what stock it derives from: the 'pariah' type (which, to confuse things, also seems to have been taken as an official breed as well). You can Google it quite easily, but to me it looks something like a mashup between a labrador, pointer, malinois and husky, tending towards a lighter frame in hot climates and a stockier frame in cold ones.
Hope your other projects are going well, Lyrra!

No proper photos yet- I'm limited to natural daylight, and the weather and short daylight hours have not been kind. I've done a quick comparison front and back paws from side and front though:

Hi, sorry for the delay, I forgot to check for responses. I don't have a brindle, the only brindle I know right now has a very attractive but very unusual head marking- one side brindle the other side white. The paws are longer, more slender and very much more bony than, say, a Labrador, I'll get photos standing on a hard surface (after I clip his claws, he objects to having his running-spikes reduced but they do need doing!). The ones here are clipped from non-reference-type photos I've taken, but they're mostly relaxed/bent not weight-bearing.

Oh, please ignore the peanut gallery, Lyrra, your stuff is too nice to rush!
I did most of a a greyhound morph for the Mildog myself, a long time ago, and never finished because I could find no way of getting the ears and paws right without remodelling them completely. Hopefully your greater experience and skill will overcome, when you do get back to this project. Let me know if you need any sight-hound reference pictures for details, I'll point a camera at mine (unless you want running, he always moves too fast for me to catch him in the frame when he's running!)

Thank you Acadia, I've got those links fixed now.
Love that little animation in your post too. ^^

For all those who've been trying to find this or any of my other freestuff, I would like to sy sorry for my long absence. The web hosts of my previous website went into meltdown and vanished, without warning or explanation, and my entire web presence vanished. I know, I should have had backups of the site. It's taken me a very long time to find the simultaneous spirit and opportunity to rebuild.I am now reposting all the freebies I can find at my new site in the downloads section, some dredged from the depths of old hard drives and one or two recovered from other people. If there's something you're trying to find and I haven't got it posted yet, drop me a line and when I have another few moments spare I will move it to the top of the list of files to try and find.
The cradle figure is now back up, along with quite a lot of the horse-related items and a couple of animations for the cat. I haven't yet managed to locate my files for the prop version, nor my copy of Seeker's beautiful textures for the cradle. Hopefully they'll turn up somewhere amongst the mess of retired HHDs and backup CDs.

I tried it once, and wasn't happy with it- the rider's not really animated to suit the horse's motion. If I can find some half decent reference material I might have another go 'sometime', which on current showing probably means in the next two years. :/

Another method to slow the animation (instead of retiming it as Zulu suggests) is to make the animation then change the frame rate or frame duration of the final movie render. Rendering the movie would also allow you to see the true speed of the walk, as Poser's preview isn't necesarily the same as the renedered movie.

Personally, I find the picture hysterically funny because it shows so well the sharp devide between 'fantasy fantasy' and 'realistic fantasy'- and those two can both be wonderful but never sit together without starting to squabble. Since the conversation turned that way though... women have throughout history gone off to war to fight by disguising themselves as men, fighting alongside in the same armour with the same weapons as their male counterparts. How many can't be known because if they were successful in their disguise, how would anybody know to be able to count them? Several WERE eventually found out, so one could presume more remained unrevealed. The Knights Templar even introduced a rule requiring all their members to grow beards because they discovered one of their number was a woman. As for the whole female anatomy thing, in my own experience of historical re-enactment if you're fit enough to run around in padded and metal armour swinging weaponry, the 'sticky-out-bits' don't actually stick out enough to show once you've squashed them under the several layers of protection. Most people watching the displays can't tell there are women on the field.

I bought ProjectZ, and it's got a V3 version, but I couldn't tell you what I actually bought- can't remember if there's more than one ProjectZ package at Daz, I mean.

I think what you actually want to do is to 'make movie', not to 'save', to view it as a seperate file? Output either a series of .jpgs or a single .avi file. If I had Poser in front of me I'd do a step-by-step explanation but I haven't so I can't. Anyone else? To save something someone else could use to make an animation, you'd need to save a multi-frame animation as described by everyone else.

Actually, what would really help me find people's stuff is if it all ended up in a character or prop folder named for the figure it's designed for. So all my Victoria 2 clothes end up in a folder called 'Victoria 2 Clothes', all my DAZ morphing fantasy dress texture MATs end up in a folder called 'Morphing Fantasy Dress', etc etc. After a year or more, I forget what character the clothing/texture is for, and in most cases there is nothing in the file to tell me. I do rename now, but it took me a long time to realise that I needed to and now I don't know what most of my older stuff is for. Okay, so my own freestuff ends up in a folder calle Horsefeathers, but it IS for the horse. ;)

Not sure when I'll be back working on the animations. I've got the pack saddle to finish first. I'll check through to see what sequences are actually finished, and what's still in need of work- it's been a while and I've forgotten exactly where I'd got to. The walk here is almost done, including mane and tail- just got to work on that odd sideways-flopping bit of forelock. Not quite sure when you'd find a horse with its mane sticking straight up like this at walk- probably better used when the horse is disguised as a zebra! There's also a trot, canter and gallop. I'll probably put out some of this stuff for free, when it's done.
