I had just looked at Adobe Illustrator CS2, and it traces drawings, makes them into A line drawing, then you just drop in the colors with the color bucket. Check it out and see if that is maybe something that will help you.

You might try "the Forge" Chris has one on using the graph editor. This is a great tool for fixing bad areas in your animations in particular. He is also getting ready to make one in animation. I don't know his timeschedule for that though!
Thread: Selling an older version of poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
(The problem with selling your old version)
There should not be a problem with the serial number there. You had just bought your upgrade (Poser 6), which will be in yours and there files. If you ever had to up grade again, You will have Poser 6's versions upgrades serial number. before you upgrade to Poser 7, You would be a fool to sell your current version before you test drive Poser 7 for at least 6 months. 1 you may like the older version better for some reason, say because maybe it renders faster, or what ever. I had bought Poser 4, and Poser Pro Pack. those two versions were linked together which I'm sure was a quick release till they finished Poser 5. and thats is fine. They should be sold together.
But I bought Poser 5 upgrade and never liked it. A lot of people like it, but I thought there were to many problems to work around and found it to be slow. This came as a complete program all by itself, but it was sill an upgrade.
Then came Poser 6 and I bought that. It's a complete Program all to itself but an upgrade. I have all the serial numbers of all the older versions. The other versions just set here because I now only use Poser 6. What a waist!
Now lets see what I will do with the money if I sell the older versions (granted for not much of a profit) of Poser that I no longer use. Maybe a movie, or more Poser Items, or put toward the next upgrad. What ever.
Lets see what will be the most likely thing a person would do if they bought one of my older versions of Poser that I sold. My guess if he liked the program, he will want to buy a new version. Sence he never bought that Poser from EFrontier, he will have to buy Poser 6 or 7 complete and New.
Thus. What has just happened is, someone else buying my old poser which became a sales tool for a newer versions of Poser. For me I will contenue to buy each Upgrade. If this could be worked out It would be a win, win for everyone. To my knoledge, they no longer sell Poser 4 anymore do they? If they did, they would be selling a brand new version with a manual in better condition than what I would Have, and I see big discounts on there sales.
I have no problem of them charging me a small processing fee to sell the older outdated versions of Poser. That would be fare.
I completely understand why Software companies are so guarded to protect there product and I agree with them. I will do everything I can to protect that company because I like what they produce. If People pirate there product to often they will go out of buisness and that will kill me and what I use Poser for.

In other words, you have still bought all the upgrades faithfully, and now you have all the other copies that you have bought and have no further need for. Which if someone else was able to buy, They might get hooked on Poser and buy the newest version. I have fulfilled all my obligations buying all my upgrades. I know a person who would be interested once he played around with an older version, I'm sure he would, down the road buy a newer version at a later date. What needs to be done is have the Dics that comes with Poser to have a code in it that can't be copied onto a computer without a release from EFrontier, that code logs into EFontier your email address. only one copy per email address of each version of Poser. You no longer have posession of that version of Poser, it is then transfered to the new owner. It would then be up to any owner to keep your information of your transfere sales information to EFrontier to another person. If you couldn't prove it, you couldn't sell it. There should be one other stipulation involved with the sale, You couldn't sell your older Poser version untill another newer version came out and you upgraded too. From that time on you could sell your older version. Although it would be wise to keep your older version for at least 6 months to make sure there are no other reasons you would need the older version. I'm glad I can sell my car after I get a discount, (rebate) when I want to upgrade to a newer version.
Thread: Doubt with POser 6 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't have Poser on my machine right now, but I'm pretty sure if you look under Window/Hierarchy , on you menue bar. You will find Ben, look down all his body parts to the Penis which is either by the hip or at the bottom of all his body part, it will be shown as not visable, click on it, and it will make it visable and will function at that point on.
Thread: OT: Is this genuine Microsoft? Or is it malware (I'm paranoid).. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'd like to take these People who send virus's, Worms, Trojans and such in the back alley, and show them how much I appreciate them waisting a lot of mine and a lot of others the time and expence fixing what they think is cute! When we get these people to pay a heavy price, one that will cost them all the time and expence that they cost so many people, is what is needed. Like the old fashion dunking stool. For about a week 24 hours a day 7 days a week, and under the water for about 1 minute at a time. Then they can find out what some people think is funny in punishment.
Thread: How old are you? (Mostly OT) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
60 and I haven't givin up yet. Oh its good to see someone else near my age there Larry. I'll be 61 in just a few months. So I guess that makes me the oldest of the ones who have posted their ages. It's hard for me to fathom being older than so many people. I still havent givin up on finding the fountain of youth. So I guess you can call me the new version of Ponce de Leon.

And I thought I was the only one. Hey maybe you and I ought to go out and have a beer, and discuss Poser, and its content. DAaa.
I love poser for animations and Illustrations. I use it to advertise what ever I'm needing to advertise. I also write novels and I use it to create my charactures. I print them out, and it helps me keep their personalities in line through out the novel.
Just like buying poser content. I have 8 novels I'm working on. I should say. I am working on about 3 at a time the others are layed out with a lot of the theme and plot ready to get into gear after the others are completed.
I have one Childrens book with Illustrations throught done with Poser. So I hope Poser starts paying for all the stuff I have invested in.
I don't even want to count up all the program expensives like. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier, After Effects, Then there is Vue, Poser, Truespace, Shade. Oh and Content. Content probably runs more than all the programs together.
Then there is the upgrades in new computers so when you render a Poser Photo, or an Animation, It will be able to complete the mission. Hey! What ever it is. I am addicted like nothing else.
I had always wanted to do an Animations, but I had added up all the cells the old fasion way of doing animations and it would take me forever to do not including the expence. There were Cells, Paint, Layout Camera rigging, pencil drawing for each scene, not to mention a lot of other things I left out. Now I make all the animations I want. I couldn't be happier!
Cheer up, Your not alone!

I am writing a novel with a mansion in it. Maybe you will have what I need. I do like it so the doors open and close, even if you have them as seperate props that I can attach bones to would be nice. I like to get into my novels with charactures that I make in Poser and print them out so I have them in front me. It keeps me in line with each charactures personality.
Oh! and somewhere along the way, It would be nice to have a big trees with big thick limbs that you see moss hagging down, that would be nice. I don't need the moss though, I all ready have that.
Thread: Making a 3D Motion Path in Poser 4 | Forum: Animation
That Seems awful complicated to me.
All I do is Place a car on the ground. What ever curves you need you put in your walk path. Then from the top camera pull away so you can see the whole scene. (the numbers are for Example only.) a thirty frame animation. Frame 1 the car looking from above. line the car up with the walk designer path. Then at frame (between 10 and 12 - and 18 and 20) depending on how tight of a curve you want to make it. For example sake, use frame 12 which is before the curve using the Y Rotate and and X & Z Trans. pull your car to that position and line it up in line with the walk path. and I use spline break then go to frame 18 and again line the car up with the path and spline break it again. finaly the end frame pull the car to that point and line it up again and your done.
I have as smooth of a turn as you could want and can do the hole thing in less than a minute.
If the subject should be a rocket going up, then down. the same applies as when you are looking down from above only I use a side view camera. I all ready have the turns completed, now all I have to do is bring the walk path in the air while Im in the side view camera.
From there I use a side view to raise the craft in the air lining it up with the walk path then use the Rotate X to line up with the arch with the peak of the path. using the same steps as above and bring it down.
When you get into math that becomes confusing. If it looks correct to the eye. that is what counts in animation. I wish I was good at the calulations use use. I could sure use them on other things!

At first, you think you have so much to learn, But will start coming to youin gobbs. It seems like you have a mountain, but all of a sudden you will ba able to do most anything within Posers limits, and then some. Then you'll start doing what you like doing the best and at times be a little rusty on some of the most challanging things Poser can do if you haven't done them in a while.
Thread: Welcome to Earth and reality | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
My bigest hope above all is that Curious Labs Keeps on producing Poser and making it better. I paid the extra, while others might have gotten it cheaper. Being cheated is when you order something and you don't recieve the merchandise that is promised. Then they would have a problem. I am not going to complain so much about their reasons which I can not judge. The real question should be. Is the product worth it. Would you prefere not having Poser 6. Some people pay $150 for a pair of shoes. You can go to the store and the next day after you bought an Item, that same item is now on sale. Boy if I let those things bother me I wouldn't injoy life. And to think, In Russian people had to wait in like hours for just a loaf of bread. I think I made out on the deal, Some people have it real rough!

I use almost exclusively Spline except I will throw in a Constant at times for a few frames. I see that most everyone likes Linear. I choose Spline because I like the nice and even flow it has. The big problem that you have to watch for is if you don't Spline break, your pose will keep going into an extreme pose. I don't know why you would use a constant unless you are wanting to hold a pose for a number of frames. I use it sometimes, or I will copy the body, or body part and paste a number of frames down the line where I want to pick up the action again. I've never used Linear except more as an experiment. And I know a lot of good animators use it, I just like Spline and the consistant flow it gives. I've seen some nice animations that people have, but I can do anything I want in a complete Spline animation with Spline breaks. I have some little tricks that keep me from always having to use Spline breaks so much. Spline breaks at times can be too abrupt for the natural flow of a movement.
Thread: Looking for a wind-chime sound effects | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Oh! You want the sound to play back. I see. Otherwise what I do when I want a chime sound, or something to that effect is bang my head against a metal pole a couple of times and I get all kinds of chiming sounds, with this tingling feeling. Unforchantly when I hit playback a couple of days later, after I clear the cobwebs out, for some reason I just hear a gong? I guess it must be all in my head!

You can get the Baby and animations at http://www.cubed.ie/cgi-bin/db_search.pl?Category=New or the Forge. I think Forge carries the Baby and animation.
