Yeah, I think maybe you missed my post where I said I poked around the file and found the setting I needed to change. I appreciate the list of tags so other people will know what to look for. Thanks!Open the cr2 in a text editor

I tried doing that...loading it, deleting it, reloading it...on 4 different hairs from that "era": A3 Ponytail, A3 Lotus, Leah hair, and Girl Ultimate Ponytail. For the first 3, it did seem to work...they would reload in either wireframe or some other display style, but I could acutally change the style to textured and it worked. But there was no effect on the Ultimate Ponytail...it still loaded in wireframe and could not be changed. Probably something more going on with the settings in that file.Indeed: I've retrieved an old one that refuses to obey to the figure style: LotusHairA3, except if I delete it and I reload it immediately, it's only after this that the figure's display settings is respected.
That's something we can sometimes see with clothes, too: if they don't conform correctly, delete it and reload it.Probably something buggy from Poser at the time.
I just chalk it up to being the "wild west" early days of content creation and not having any real standards when it came to making the files.

Well, they're both pretty old. It's the A3 Ponytail and the Girl Ultimate Ponytail (and all of their other figure versions). Those are 2 I use fairly often, but the problem also affects other figure hair from DAZ from that era.Which hair is it? I'll take a look in my runtimes to see of I have it.

I appreciate you looking for it, but I think I figured it out.ÂI don't see it here. I'm afraid it might have been on the SmithMirco forum
I started poking around the cr2 and found the problem setting. Apparently, years ago, whoever made these items chose to write the wireframe setting into the cr2 file. Maybe earlier versions of Poser were more forgiving on stuff like that? I don't know, but after going through the file and replacing all instances of "wireframe" with "useparent", the item will load with the proper display setting.
It looks like forcing the item into wireframe display via the cr2 will completely override Poser's ability to change it via the Document display setting or the Figure display setting, at least with Poser 11.

Right, I get that. It's a hair figure...it has body parts. It's only the random really old figure where this happens...most hair figures load in textured display, as they should. It depends on the kind of hair: some are not characters but objects, so that you may have to change the setting at this level
As I said, I remember this problem being bought up before, but I can't remember what website it was on or what the fix was. I can't remember if it was a setting in the program or something that had to be edited in the file to make load properly. I vaguely remember it being a file issue but can't be sure.
Thread: Default save location | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

I know what he's talking about. If you use Poser's import function (File -> Import), then save a new file, it will default to the file you imported the item from.
I keep all my PZ3s in one folder, so there's usually no issue if I import a Poser file. But I keep my OBJs in a different folder, so if I import one of those, the next time I save a new Poser scene, it will default to my OBJ folder.
Yep, that's the issue. :) I keep different things in different folders (figure setup files, scene setup files, obj files, etc.). I was hoping there was a way to make Poser default to a directory of my choosing when I wanted to save the scene, as opposed to the last directory referenced.

Has anybody ever found any use for the body circle? It's one of the first things I turn off in preferred scene. I don't recall ever using it.
I only use it when I'm zoomed out and need to easily grab things to move around. Once I'm done moving stuff, I turn them off.

This post might be helpful:

It's about deleting preference files if they get corrupt, but they're the ones you want to backup.
I'd also add your Python scripts, since some of them might not be readily available any more. Like Wardrobe Wizard, if you have it.
Yeah, I learned the hard way once before about backing up Python scripts and any sort of custom morphs/injections. Thanks for the link!
Thread: What is Going On?????????????????? | Forum: Community Center
The site has been logging me out for a couple of weeks now. Friday morning, when I tried to log in, I got a message that said my account had been removed...even as I contined to get wishlist notifications about sale items. It took three emails, but they finally responded and got my account working again.
There's definitely something screwy with the site now, and the lack of communication about all of this is not encouraging.

Let me know if you run into any snags.
Worked like a charm...thanks!
I actually just exported/imported everything together and it worked just fine. Since it was going to be a statue with everything one material, I didn't need to worry about material zones.
I appreciate the help.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot.
I think I tried the export/import thing before, but it resulted in this horrible, jagged looking thing...probably because I didn't know what settings I should use...hehe.
Thread: Why was my thread removed? | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Then you should have simply deleted/edited the offending post...there was zero reason to nuke the whole thread because of that. You folks earned back a little goodwill by acknowledging the issue, and then promptly wiped it away by deleting the post, and the evidence of the issue.

You are correct. I am not sure how a few prime items got into this group sale. The system is setup to block those from being added to group sales. I will look into that issue.
After a sale has started there is no way to remove those items from the sale. I would suggest waiting until this promotion is over if you are interested in purchasing that item. And we will work to be sure it does not happen going forward. I believe the only way this occurs is if a vendor asks to put a list of items in the sale manually. I will speak with the team about this. thank you for bringing it to our attention.
I was hoping it was a bug. Thanks for looking into it.
