That's a really cool figure, will have to add her to my runtime one day :-) Is it a whole figure or a composite?
Thread: anybody have the new Hivewire Horse? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - These renders are beautiful. I read on your site someone thanking you for the zebra tail for the milhorse. I was hoping to find it somewhere there but could not do so.
Is this something not available any longer or available elsewhere...free....purchase item?
Thank you :-) I haven't seen that about a zebra tail? I haven't done one but maybe they were muddled up with the free donkey textures I made for the old (not milhorse) daz zebra model, I included a trans map for the tail that could also be used with the origional zebra texture.
Quote - I have been using the P4 horse forever. Only recently switched over to the MilHorse (1) and love it. I would like to get the MilHorse (2) but can't use it in Poser 7 and it looks like the HiveWire horse is also going to be nonuseable for me for now.
You could use it with Daz Studio Pro, it's still free at the moment, I use it almost exclusively now, I open Poser occasionally but get fustrated with the interface, shame as I think it still produces crisper renders.
Quote - What I an cruious about is the renders of the P4 horse on yhor freebies section. The tails look better than they do in my renders, less faceted and better strands do appear nicer than mine. I have a trans-map for the tail I got with a hi-res texture set from DAZ but it makes the tail look shorter and lengthening it to work makes the bends look awful. Do your free txtures add anything to this problem and the morphs...do they also add more functionality to the old P4 Nag?
The above images of the p4 horse are from my free downloads section, they both come with my tail trans map that I use for my own renders but not the mane which was another unfinished project.. You can download them and others here, the easy poser horse has some of my morphs, textures and trans maps, eyeball props and easy pose dials to control the neck and tail included.
Quote - Also, I got Ali's Cindy Centauress which is a pretty nice self contained figure. THough not as realisticly shaped as the MilHorse or the HiveWire horse nonetheless quite useful. I am looking for fetlock hair for it. I have begged Ali to add more stuff for it and make some adjustments and though he has been pretty cooperative with adjustments is too busy to do much now. I have been trying to find fetlock har or feathers for it but no luch. Does this Hiv Wire Horse have seperate fetlock hair/feathers?
I've not seen the centauress yet, the new HW3D horse does have seperate fetlocks, much more realistic than the MilHorse's too :-)

Just wanted to update with another render of one of the pony :-)
Thread: anybody have the new Hivewire Horse? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi everyone :-) I've not been keeping up with the 3d community lately (just getting over pneumonia) so this horse purely by accident after viewing this thread and went over and bought him straight away.
I've spent a few hours playing around with him and love what they have done with him, especially how they have rigged the hair controls into the base figure. One thing I've not been able to find are the controls for the fantastic hair movements displayed on their forum thread (as a new member I can't post on there) but don't know if I'm missing them or they didn't make it clear that they are a seperate item?
This is how the Daz Horse 2 should have been, the expressions are very realistic and the inculded morphs allow a lot of variability out of the box (see image above created from a few dial twists and scaling.)
So far I've only used him in Daz Studio and am working on a pony morph which I've adjusted the rig to but the mane isn't following the rig adjustments, not sure if my foggy brain is missing a step there? Anyway here is what I've done so far:
I'm in the middle of writing an in depth review on my website but won't finish it for a couple of days until I've tried him out in Poser and Carrara.

agreed, very cool!
Thread: A new figure has just been ridden into town | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've been thinking about making new conforming manes, tails and fetlocks as well as Carrara dynamic hair, but having the time and energy is always the kicker for me :(
Thread: A new figure has just been ridden into town | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This horse has seperate conforming hair which is a much better option, but the mane is sorely lacking in morphs and the mane mesh is incomplete. Also there isn't an option for feathers, I thought this would be another conforming figure?
I suppose you could make a short trans map for the mane and have a second one conformed to the horse figure instead?
I'm really loving how this horse bends, it can even graze properly which no horse model has been able to do apart from the Heavy Horse but have just noticed that there are no scaling dials for the legs like there were in the MilHorse which is essential for different breeds.

I bought the Pro bundle and although it does pose and bend **much** better in DS 4.5 and CRWR's textures are just gorgeous I'm dissapointed in a few things. The geometry does not have any fetlock hair built in or as a conforming figure, the conforming mane figures geometry only comes partway up the neck giving a part shaved mane appearance, no good for wild or wooly natural horse renders and the mane figure although having loads of morphs for the forelock is severly lacking in mane morphs.
The other thing as previously mentioned is the lack of backwards compatible uvs, this just smacks of trying to force people to buy all new textures. I like the new uvs just wish they had included MilHorse compatible ones too as they did for V5 with V4 uvs.
I'm in the middle of a blog post about it with some renders and screen shots at the moment, so far I've only installed the horse and textures, none of the tack and other addons but from what I can see from the store images the saddles and bridles look like the exact same models just reworked for the new horse which conviniently had a slightly longer body so older stuff won't fit out of the box :(

Thread: Sharkey's War Horse? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank you for all the replies, I have sent Robert a message on here so will post back when I hear from him, that is if he comes here at all to recieve it.
It was Robert Sharkey who made the War Horse, it was a beefed up, muscular morph of the Poser 4 horse with modeled mane, tail and fetlocks and was a nice model. This is a render of it with one of my free textures.
Bloodsong made the Heavy Horse which was entirely new geometry and I think is still the best horse model out there for posability, the Charger looks like a fat pony to me and the the Millennium Horses draft horse morph is well, imaginative.... I'm currently working on my own draft morph for the MilHorse, but it is a different type to the Heavy Horse and will continue to use them both.
lmckenzie: it's been a long time since I've posted on here, my health hasn't been good and I was just in hospital a couple of weeks ago. The good thing is that after 16 years of telling me I have M.E. and that there isn't anything they can do for me they have now found out that it has been my heart all along....the bad thing is that the betablockers they put me on are making me feel like hell. I don't know what to think, I was only 27 when I first became ill, I'm 43 now and am angry, bitter but strangely relieved but also scared stiff lol! I was in hospital earlier this year for a major operation and they didn't pick up on it then either so heavens knows...
I still use Poser, Daz|Studio, Carrara and my other programs but don't get much time, with three horses to care for with my energy levels so have loads of half finished projects sitting on my drive waiting for me to finish them up. I've spent most of my time lately working on my websites and will hopefully be bringing my main website up to date in the near furture :)

*edited to attach the render...
Thread: Dimension3D's Poser File Organiser is it possible to upgrade to V3 from V2? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hiya Jen, not yet as I thought it might be quicker via here but I'll try if no one on here knows.
I love his work and own lots of his Poser tools, they cut out so much tedious messing around and hand editing :)

Thread: Figure from Daz to poser?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There is a free script somewhere on the Daz forum that takes a character with new morphs in it and creates a CR2 from it so that it is useable in Poser, sorry I can't remember the name of the creator off hand but maybe you could add an empty morph and then use the script to spawn a new cr2? Don't know if all of the magnets would carry over though.

Thread: Question Regarding Modification to the DAZ MiHorse. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank you :)
It was a real shame that when Daz had the chance to sort the model out that they didn't take it and the cr2 is so heavy! I'm sure that is was all of those hundereds (exageration) of seperate parts for the forelock that cause it to take so long in loading. I made a custom one, removing all the morphs and the hair bones and geomerty just for posing and it loads like like lightening...
I made a morphing forelock smart prop using Poser's grouping tool on the mane and to my eye it looks much better than the one on the default horse. (see attached render)

Your welcome :) I used to have a grey arab gelding many years ago, I don't know what breeding he was though, just that he was of the stockier type, 14.2hh and could clear 5 feet - had to install electric fencing just to keep the so and so from jumping out lol.
Welsh section C ponies are the smaller version of the welsh D's (Welsh Cobs), the smaller araby types are A's and B's. Although only 13.2 ours is very strong, much stronger than my thoroughbred mare and she's 16.1hh:blink: He's also got the most fab personality, we think he was a pet dog in a previous life......
C's have a lot of spirit but are strong enough to carry a small adult but very, very cheap to feed, we have one heck of a job keeping the weight off our lad!!!
Here's some photo's of welsh C's http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/mid/sites/aberystwyth/pages/aberystwythshow06_championsectionc.shtml?15
I bet your paint x tb is lush :) Coloureds are very popular here in the UK at the moment, I often go to York sales and you can add £1000 on to the price of any animal if it is coloured!

PS the photo is of our ponio after a bath, a very cheesed off pone! There's loads more photo's of him and our rescued TB at my daughter's website www.ponydaze.com

I will add though that for poseability the MilHorse comes a long way behind the Heavy Horse!
