Thread: Vue Demo Question | Forum: Vue
Thanks for the help. gebe,Should you be able to import with the Demo? How striped down is the demo version compaired to the full version? All I'm trying to do here is to get a feel of what Vue will or will not do for me.After makeing a costly mistake of buying Poser 5(and still to this day doesn't work very well),I promised myself to never spend money on softwear I don't try out. I've gone over alot of the forum post here, and most people rave about how good Vue is,but I did see a few post of some issues about the Poser import.I had to purchase Poser4/Propack,at full price as there is no discount for backgrading and now CuriousLabs days look very numbered,so I won't be getting any Poser to Vue support from them. I spend alot of time looking in the Vue gallery, and people in there(like lynwhite)that use Poser and Vue togeather, just blow me away.
Thread: Windows XP | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Don't know if this post is too late, but for what it's worth...I tried that XPantispy, mentioned towards the start of this tread...Boy that is nice! Stoped those ballons, and would have stopped Messenger(if I hadn't already killed it), plus a few other nice things. And it dosen't run in the background, like many of the other progs mentioned.
Thread: Windows XP | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Microsoft Messenger drove me crazy...easy fix..right click on it,in options, disable run in background,..and then when nobody is looking....go to programs, and deleate it!

Been using WinXP Home Version for several months now(it came with my new puter).Runs real nice and smooth...never added any updates.Just wondering...so many people seem to like Win2000 over XP, because it does not use as much resoures as XP.Well..how much less? On my computer all that I have added is the drivers for the printer and scanner, four Adobe programs,Painter7,and Poser(no antivirus etc.)But yet from a fresh startup,I have seventeen system related items running(as seen in the task mgr.).That does seem like alot.Does Win2K have less?
Thread: Poser4 Swap File Question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This is all still very fuzzy to me.Seeing how well Photoshop and Illustrator did with a swapfile away from Windows (XP),I was thinking Poser would do just as well.Today I put it to the test.I installed Poser(2 gigs. worth of files)on a seperate 10 gig partition...set the minmax size to 800mb.for that partition. The results..Poser showed no increase in performance at all! The swapfile size for my computer now shows as the combined total for both partitions. I think the two Adobe programs did well, because you assign the swapfile location from within the program itself(an option Poser does not have).Well...It was worth a try!?!?

Replicant, that's what I'm trying to find out.If only one default swapfile is used, there would be no performance advantage using a seperate partition.
Thread: P5 problems vs praise - Is the balance tipping? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm one of those people that was not interested in upgrading to Poser5.Poser is not my main app.that I use,and all the new features that Poser5 offered are very nice, but not vital to me.However if I did see a need to upgrade,I would never have been the first in line to purchase it(as so many that are now having problems were). When large companies like Microsoft,Adobe.etc.release a new or upgraded softwear product, they are far from being problem and bug free. Those big boys have huge resources, funding, and manpower devoted to research&development...and they still can't get it right the first time around.Curious Labs is a small guy and lacks their resoures,so the fixes will be slower to come, and they need our understanding and our support.Yes I'm seeing more people that seem to be able to use Poser5...it just takes time. You must remember that Poser has always been a very odd, quirky, buggy program......BUT IT'S COOL...IT'S NEAT....AND IT'S ALOT OF FUN!
Thread: ? re older Poser version | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'd stir him to someplace like Ebay to find a copy of Poser3...this won't be stepping on anyones toe as Poser3 has been offered free on several magazine coverCD's(ComputarArt magazine in the UK may still have some for a small shipping charge).Still some nice things to be found on the net. for P3...gotta get Ultra Morph Woman & Man by Confusius. Most important is alot of things found in tut's for Poser4 can be applied to Poser3.
Thread: Does anyone know.............Help please! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Or...look in Free Stuff, both here and at RuntimeDNA.Several VERY good background props, can be found, that can be shaped, resized, and morphed.Cyclo Drop,Infinity Cove, and Waver are the names to look for.Cyclo Drop even has several layers or planes that let you use more than one image at one time. I use all three, and after doing a major house cleaning on my Props library, wonder why something like this wasn't built into Poser in the first place.
Thread: Error-no disk in drive D | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
PabloS...Thanks!! CorrectReference fixed the error message problem. It's amazing just how good and useful all those Utilities programs really are...Morph Mgr.,Tailor,P3dO,UV Mapper, etc.,and now CorrectReference. Thanks once more.

Crescent,Thanks for the responce. Yes Kira is loaded from the .cr2,but I don't really know what to look for if I open the file. I just deleated the .rsr for all the Mil Obj.,but that didn't help.Kira older is in fact based on the MilGirl and not Vicky. She is scaled up much larger than the standered Preteen, almost the size of Posette. Maybe that's part of the problem.
Thread: how do I fit clothes on teen figures? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
curtskin,I've only been using the Milpreteen for two weeks, and have found a big void in nice looking clothes offered(most look like something out of the Sunday comics). The best thing I've found that works is the Morphing clothes pack and Fantasy Wrap for Vicky...gotta be the morphing one...the plain one is useless. Also do a search in Free Stuff for Gypsy Rose.Gypsy Rose has a two part bikini that shapes and fits not only the Preteen, but any model better than anything you can buy! By the way, where do you find your morph?
