Let´s bring that topic up again. Since I still use my Poser 11 Pro...I wanted to improve my render. So I wanted to try the Octane Render demo.
Installation fine but viewport keeps white...until I put the progress saving to ON. BUT: that only works with full version. (Are you kidding?)
Nonetheless... I went to the shop on their website to download Octane...but it´s only available for other applications there...like blender...c4...daz...but no option for poser anymore. (Funfact...on the Index Site of the shop you can click on poser and it shows the system requirements.
I´m bit p.....ed to be honest.
Is there any chance? Or maybe another (still available) render plugin for better render?

The Poser file is in F:\Program Files\Smith Micro\Poser 11 Content\Downloads\runtime\libraries\character\SciFi-Lab
I´ve tried every HDD but I think I know the problem, but can´t solve it
I´ve seen that there is a write-protection on everything. Even I can save and delete stuff on it as an admin, the folder options still says "write-protected" no matter how often I unchecked it. An I have the full access controls as admin.
So that´s why poser says it needs an writable folder.
I use win11 and I haven´t found a solution to it.

i´m sorry i am an idiot. i did a displacement map on the M4 skin :(( . everytime i´ve clicked on the forearm, i did changes on the nanosuit (which is the metal part). i´m sorry false alarm^^

btw i only use firefly (i´m not used to superfly and settings) not even for all material stuff you mentioned (Cycles surface,...)

I did what parkdalegardener did. use the same texture for fur and for skin below and here is the result
i changed the texture map itself a bit so you see the stripes better.

i have no idea what this all means (is there a tut for those in general?) it´s not part of the manual. i did this like you and i got black texture as result :(

@ghostship2 the video just helps for hair room and for a random texturing. the tex in that video are just colored spots. but the tiger texture is specific.
i tried this: here i use the alien for m4 texture. as you see there are those tiger stripes
i did all the same hair with length and thickness all over the body. i used the limb texture on fur on the limbs and body texture on fur on the body. and as you see i don´t see the tiger stripes anymore. (best part are the legs)
so what´s wrong here?

the evolver looks to difficult for me (looking at the manual) i will stick to the Sag morph brush for now...maybe try blender (which i never used)
too bad you can´t use the morphable cloth animation for that (even without doing a animation at final)

...i did save the character as an .obj-file and to import that in new scene works fine...so not a problem with the geometry-part?
ok...this is getting more strange...i import the obj file in the empty scene and THEN added the poser-scharacter to it and saved it...now it´s working that way. but if i delete the obj file (as a "statue") in the scene and just save it the EQpop - character...it crashes again... strange :(

Maybe you don´t understand. it´s not about the ibl light. it´s about the ibl itself. for example if i use a ibl of a beach but the scene is inside a room. so u can´t use that...so i wanna make an ibl photo of that room so i can use it in that scene...you understand? i hope so :D

impressive for sure, but that´s the point. is it the right method to make a poser scene in the right light, then add a sphere to it, make photos of it in poser (like in reality with camera) then use THAT for envSphere?
