Thank you so much for the interpretation. Still have a question, ""blend input needs to be between 0 and 1" Why? And how about the second part of my question? Do you know any good tutorials or resources to help me learn how to read these things?
Thread: Material Room help needed (complex problem) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This is so cool and I'm having quite a bit of fun messing around with it, but I really have no idea what I'm doing. First, I think N is "Normal to the surface" right? So what is P? Then you take P and put it into a Math Add, but what are we adding and why is it negative values and what do they represent? That goes into Clamp, what is a clamp? Does anybody know a good tutorial that explains how to "read" these things.

Looks good. It also says that I will need MacConverter. So I'm not sure if it will work for me. What is a steps package?

Thanks I took a look at that. It seems a bit "toon" to me, but I will give it a try. Now when you say it can easily fit other figures what do you mean by that? What does one do to fit something from one figure to another? Do I need to use magnets? Is there something similar.
Thread: How do I make BIG, CLEAR, Gallery thumbnail's? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I couldn't get a decent thumbnail, no matter what I did, it was 20K. Then I realize I was saving as a progressive jpeg. That basically saves several versions inside itself. So make sure that you aren't doing that.
Thread: A Rave Review for Apollo Maximus! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well from viewing the posts on this site, I would imagine that people don't want another male figure because males don't have absolutely, enormous, bigger than your head breasts! Funnily enough, many of the criticisms I've seen of AM is that he isn't realistic or he bends too far or stuff like that. But again I'm seeing a double standard. It's okay to distort women's bodies to bizarre fetish extremes, but a male model that can do that is just wrong. I'm fairly new to Poser, and haven't really mastered it yet, but I will be getting Apollo when my next bonus check comes in.

Yes. over all scale, x-y-z-scale, x-y-z-trans, up-down, side-side. Everytime I think I've got one gap or poke out fixed, I end up making another one in a different part of the eye. There isn't some trick to help with this? I've spent more than an hour just trying to line up the eye. It seems people must have found some way to do this easier.
Thread: Is there a script or utility to randomize face morphs for mil figures? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Speaking of facial morphs for Millenium characters... I have just recently started working with Poser (version5sr4) and even more recently started working with Michael. It seems that there are no morphs to substantially change his facial proportions. Is this correct? I've injected all the head morphs and get a bunch, but there don't to seem to be ones that allow me to make his eyes wider, closer, the left a bit higher, etc. They seem to allow for a lot of variation, but really not change the underlying structure in the way the face room does for the stock figures.
Thread: I'am a beginner at poser. I need help. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I am sooooooo a beginner as well. I don't have P6, but I agree that the manual that comes with P5 isn't that helpful. What I found helpful was to use the manual to familiarize myself with the names of all the parts of the interface. By working through the manual it made it much easier for me to follow the online tutorials. Also when it comes to the tutorials, I have really found the ones from Dr. Geep to be fantastic. One trick I have found with them is that if get a bit stuck on a page, read ahead a page or two. Sometimes the answer is actually coming up. Also just keep reading through the posts here. Often they will lead you in ways you just weren't yet ready to imagine.
Thread: surface imperfection material shader | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ajax thank you for that. I actually do understand vectors and calculus I need little refreshers now and then, but in general I get it. So your walk through is great. I'm guessing I just need more practice to be able to "read" it the way you did. I haven't ever really figured out about UV. When I look at a flattened out UV map, I'm guessing that one of those is equivalent to X and the other to Y, but since each of them will really be wrapped around in space "they" gave them different designations to avoid confusion? Again, I really appreciate the guidance. If you know of any further places where I can get into the math a bit it might really help me understand what is going on.

Does anybody know a good tutorial that explains how to "read" a shader like this? I did the real skin shader tutorial and what is going on makes sense to me. (Okay, not perfect sense, but enough!) But I still am not quite seeing how to convert mathematical ideas into this kind of node language. Or how to go the other way to run into something like this and be able to come up with an idea of what it is doing.
Thread: mirror mirror on the wall.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Lz2483 I'm so not getting that effect with the values you've shown in your screen shot. If I reduce the softness in all the reflect nodes to 0 or some other very low numbers, then I get it. Anybody else? Or do I just have a crazy backwards version of Poser?
Thread: Tutorial for hair textures from scratch? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Do you mean like the tutorials about half-way down this page? http://www.perpetualvisions.com/tocs/toc-articles.htm Or is a hair texture something different that that?

Now that is what I'm talkin' 'bout. Thank you. I had assumed that PP stood for ProPak and since I'm using P5 I wouldn't need. Guess that will teach me to assume.
