My Poser 11 Demo expired. So I don't even know what version it was. It won't let me get to the About screen to find out.

Thread: Photo skies - alpha and/or omega? | Forum: Vue
Back in the day, I used MatchMove software to render 3D objects in filmed environments.

This was when Vue was compatible with such software before Autodesk bought up the technology and shut things down.
I see using photo backdrops as part of the overall render process. I still use HDRI images in Vue scenes when they are needed. I still do the occasional QTVR render from Vue (pointing the render camera in six directions and putting the images together to view the scene). Sometimes, with photo backgrounds.
Would I consider such renders strictly Vue renders or mixed media renders? I tend to categorize my art by what app I use the most.

Yes. I'll agree that Vue has one of the best ecosystem paintbrush tools. I still have GeoControl 2 for making terrains if I can't get Vue to do the exact one for me.

ShawnDriscoll posted at 5:02 PM Sun, 2 June 2024 - #4485578I have an i9 with a newer video card. So VUE 2023/24 runs blazing fast compared to Vue 10 Infinite on an i7. The final rendered output is the same, though, in both apps.I've noticed that rendering in both 2023 and 2024 is much faster than my last purchased version whch was 2015 Inf.EA posted at 6:55 AM Sat, 1 June 2024 - #4485526
True. VUE's rendering has not changed since 2010. Its obsolescence was artificially planned to keep users re-buying it for over a decade without any improvements made other than the GUI. Hobbyists figured this out long ago and left. Renderosity and Cornucopia3D both lost their data history at some point with no backups. So there was nothing to come back to.As a former Vue user, I think I won't really use Vue again. I let it down when eon-software has been bought by Bentley and now I really prefer Twinmotion and I really don't understand why there is not a twinmotion community here. It's not only an application for architects and it's free for hobbyists. I posted my last Vue image on renderosity in may 2010... 14 years ago already, and when I look at the images made with Vue in 2024, I don't see big differences with what we did 14 years ago.
Poser users are still here. It's kind of what Renderosity made its start from.

Thread: Vue cannot find Poser 11? | Forum: Vue
So what's the exact version and release number of Poser (Pro or non-Pro) for Windows that works with the free VUE 2023 and VUE 2024?

Did you get your Poser 11 from Smith Micro? Interesting.
Has anyone had a problem with the Poser 11 from Poser Software (Bondware)?

I'd like to hear from VUE 2023/2024 users here who do have Poser working for their importing. Specifically, which version of Poser for Windows is being used? I see that SkinVue is now included with VUE. Does it work with the Poser used for importing?

Just for my understanding, why do you all insist so heavily on pz3 file exchange? Has anybody tried to export from Poser in another format that Vue can read and use this route?
So I don't need to fiddle with every material for every body part. Why do you think I insist so heavily on PZ3 for import?

The PZ3 I used was the default figure when opening Poser Pro 11 TRIAL. No Poser add-ons.
On my old computer, I have VUE 9.5 Infinite with Poser 6. I can import a PZ3 made from Poser 6 into a VUE 9.5 Infinite scene. Save the scene. And them open the scene in VUE 2023. The embedded Poser 6 PZ3 object loads with the scene just fine into VUE 2023. And the scene renders from VUE 2023 look just like the renders from VUE 9.5 Infinite. This all happens without telling VUE 2023 anything about Poser importing.
I don't plan on buying Poser Pro 11 if it's not going to work with VUE 2023.

I'm on Windows 11.I have downloaded the free version of Vue 2024 and it is unable to find/open poser 11 when I import a poser file?
Error code DLOIS_1791
Has anyone else run into this issue?
Are more up to date versions of poser compatible?
Thanks for any advise.
For fun, I downloaded the trial version of Poser Pro 11.3.818 from posersoftware.com and installed it. However, I get the same error message as you. I don't have a serial number, so I can't test any further. Maybe Posersoftware will contact me about buying a serial number. I assume TRIAL versions of Poser do not work with E-on's Poser SDK.

Been using AI to do scenic and space landscapes that I can then use HDR-like for backgrounds when rendering my starships and whatnot.
