Ah, that makes sense. I do wish they took some nice tools/features from Softimage into Maya. Well, we'll see what happens.
I like Maya, and yes, once you learn the hotkeys, you'll be able to work faster. You can also have a custom shelf that puts your most-used tools within easy reach, and that helps, too. :)

It's very sad indeed. I used XSI for a while, and I loved its modeling tools. I like Maya better for some things, but there were a few features that were really nice in XSI. I wish AD sold it to somebody else instead of just getting rid of it.

I really, really don't like this drab grey color. It's literally making me feel sick to my stomach. I don't mean to be a jerk about it; I haven't said anything until now, but when I checked the site today and saw all this grey and black and yellow, I couldn't hold back anymore... I just don't think that it's attractive at all, especially for an art site.

 Before running the cloth simulation in Blender, I would do a planar UV mapping on the cloth object. Then run the simulation. This should retain the UV map and the texture should look more natural. I don't have Blender, but this is what I would do in the programs I use.

I'm very sorry about your loss. I love that picture of him; IÂ agree, he was adorable! Pets are members of the family and it hurts to have to lose them. We lost our cat suddenly and unexpectedly last year and I still miss her a lot. She was also only 13.
I agree with Gill; I'm sure he had a wonderful life with you, and he'll always be with you in your heart.
