I just got Vue infinite as part of my Lightwave 9 upgrade. Should I load this patch or do you experienced folks recommend letting things be? I am unfamiliar with E-ons upgrade practices... All I can see is that this patch went from beta to final recently and doesn't seem to be fully working... Does this mean that there will be a future patch or is 5.10 the last version to be replaced by 6
Thread: Trees growing in wrong areas | Forum: Vue
I'm really a lightwave user who just got vue as part of my upgrade, but I did see a few things on this while messing around.... I think what might be simple enough is to use a temporary box on your path. Vue has a density contol that has reference to "Foreign object" in other words just dropping box to sit on the path, then press populate... Vue will not place any trees near the box.
Alternately I noticed that a grey scale image can be used to control population. I suppose if you render an overhead shot of the unpopulated ground surface, and then convert the image to black and white (invert if necessary) tress should not grow on blank areasÂ

Thanks for the input Charlie.... I actually based it on a unit used by Seals rather than Splinter Cell. My version is actually smaller than the real unit which connects to throat mics.

Well Libernull, they're taking way longer than I thought with life constantly getting in the way. I like to keep people informed so they know I haven't dropped off the planet.

Hey DaSerialMole, Its not a bad Idea. This one is probably my first serious attempt. I've picked up a couple of tips from Moe that I will be trying. I haven't exported this to poser yet so I'm sure that I'll run into some gotcha's. I'll keep notes and maybe I'll be able to come up with something.

Satusgai, these are FPRIME renders out of Lightwave....Once everybody is happy, I'll start dragging it into P5..... I'll probably create some procedurals in P5 for the surfaces initally. Once there I'll make some P5 renders.
