FWIIW I think this is the thread that describes converting Genesis to native Poser:
http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/?thread_id=2874212&#msg4113185
However I am not sure this is still necessary. You could just try loading V6 then saving as a new character.
For me V6 works well in Poser 2014. If load a clothing item to V6 then 'Transfer Active Morphs' seems to do a fine job in fitting. Also the morph brush rocks for any final fiddling.
I have all the DSON stuff in a separate folder. DSON does not seem to interfere with anything else.

Wow. I have been looking for a replacement for iTunes and Media Player. Downloaded foobar2000 and took to it immediately. Thanks for the suggestion.
Can anybody suggest a good CD ripper? I have been slowly converting my CD collection to mp3. It would be good to control the space between tracks and at the end of an album.
Before the site upgrade I thought it was possible to insert smileys into text. Is this no longer possible, or did I dream it?

Thread: Ezskin with Genesis 2 models | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You can use EZ skin on whatever figure you like. If EZ skin says the figure is unsupported you can define a new figure using the Editor tab. I am sure if you seach the forums you will find masses of information about EZ skin. This site and RuntimeDNA. EZ skin is indispensable.
Thread: Genesis - error message | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - None of those apply - I just followed the Daz instructions.
This morning I deleted all the files relating to this figure (Bot Genesis), went back to Daz and downloaded them again using the installers as instructed.
But the error message is still there.
So ... is it worth deleting ALL the Daz stuff from the drive and starting again?
The DSON importer generates a whole bunch of temporary files. These are odd for temporary files because they seem to keep hanging arround.
On my system they are in my Poser content folder. For me this is Poser Pro 2014 ContentRuntimeDSONauto_adapted. Much of the temporary stuff has unique keys associated with them which are of the form '7cd4c5f0-213d-a94d-4692-89b851efa914'
Rather than delete the folder with the Bot Genesis installed I would suggest looking at the auto_adapted folder. In the data folder under auto_adapted you should find the temporary .obj and .pmd files. On my system they are grouped into folders which take the name of the author of the model. As an experiment I would first delete the temporary files. This would give the importer a chance to re-create them.

Rather less than the Romans I think :)

I am sure there could be many reasons for this. However as a start you could open the material room and click on the Avanced tab. There you will see the shaders for the figure. What is plugged into the Diffuse_Color input of the PoserSurface? It should be an image map. The Diffuse_Value may be 0 depending on the shader.
Thread: Installing Genesis Two In Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Nothing should go into a folder called 'content' in your Poser library folder. You need to move the stuff in the zip below the folder called 'content'.

Well, I have one Poser library I install ALL my genesis stuff into. I called this, rather imaginatively, 'DSON'. The Starter Essentials are unzipped into this. The Starter Essentials CF is also installed here. This must be working for you based on the result of your experiment.
All the rest of my genesis 2 stuff is also installed in 'DSON', both the DS studio stuff and the companion files.
I only have genesis 2, V6 and V6 HD. All this works. I have a few items of DAZ stuff for V6. All works. I have converted some V4 stuff for V6, again this works.
I unzip from the folder below content. If you drop below content in the zip and look at the hierachy in your Poser library the folders should match.
One other experiment. When you change from Girl 6 to Victoria 6, does the figure actually change?
I do have problems with V6 shaders, but that is a different topic.

The list is long but, one small example is the String Bikini that comes with V6 Pro Bundle. It DOES come with a CF zip file but it will NOT conform to V6 but WILL conform to The Girl 6.
...
Interesting. If you start Poser and navigate to the DAZ People folder in the library you installed genesis you should see your genesis 2 characters. There will be, I assume, Genesis 2 Base, Victoria 6 and Girl 6.
For you: if you load Girl 6 the string bikini will conform, however if you load Victoria 6 the string bikini will not conform.
What happens if you:
Load Girl 6 and conform string bikini. Then select Girl 6 body. In the properites window parameters tab there will be an entry called Actor. If you expand this you will find two sub-entries. If you expand People you will another called Real World. If you expand this you will find all the genesis 2 female morphs you have. Girl 6 should have a setting of 1.
If you set the Girl 6 setting to 0 you will get the base g2 female. Does the bikini still conform? If you now set Victoria 6 to 1, does the bikini still conform?

Well, from posts here and elsewhere DS autofit is the way to go. I will have to re-install DS.
Thread: Help with a DSON FAQ | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I tried the saved cr2, also both skinning methods. There are a couple of threads on this at Runtimedna. There seem to be problems. I do not think it is much of a hindrance. I can scale the item, copy joint zones, then wave the now wonderful morph brush about to fix remaining poke through. The item is then saved in my growing library of converted V6 stuff. Except shoes; cannot seem to get good results converting shoes.

Yes I got the HD morphs. I also came to the conclusion that they did not work with Poser subdivision, but did with the importer subdivision. Thanks for confirming.
Since my original post I found V6 does not work with the fitting room; cannot have everything I suppose. Does anybody have a solution?
Thread: Help with a DSON FAQ | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I did not like the DSON importer. It was too slow. Then I updated my version of Carrara. It came with masses of V5 and M5 stuff. So I tried again, for fun, with the latest version of the importer. This seems much, much faster. I tried with both Poser pro 2012 and Poser pro 2014.
I was so impressed I got V6 and a few related items in a DAZ sale. This works wonderfully well in my Poser. You have the choice, Poser subdivision or DAZ subdivision. I do not yet know which I prefer. I cannot tell any difference in speed.
Make no mistake; I am a committed Poser only user. However, as a simple user, I am impressed with V6 in Poser. Once imported V6 can be saved as a cr2 file. It then loads even faster.
I think the FAQ is well worth continuing.
