I loaded up a figure with ALL Head and Body morphs... It took about 5 minutes to complete. And that's on a 2 GHz system with 1.5 GB of memory. Buck

I parented the toruses (tori?) to the head, but can't figure out how to save them as a smart prop so they can be applied to other Vicky2 figures. They position themselves in her abdomen!
Next step would be to create a "wet skin sheen" overlay for the head texture, to provide the look of tears moistening her face. Addition of a "tear" prop emerging from the corner of the eye would be another option, although seldom do you actually see teardrops falling down someone's face.
It would be nice to be able to incorporate all this in some MAT/MOR files to simplify application.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Buck

Anthony, There are at least 2 of us W2000 users here who were unable to launch Poser 5 after installing the patch who are now able to run by dropping back to the old version of tpkd.sys. I don't understand why you don't advertise this as a workaround until you guys figure out the ultimate solution. If I had waited on CL I would have been down for 3 days now. If you're scratching your heads on why some W2000 users are affected and not others, I'd take a look at who has installed W2k SP3 and who hasn't. I have, and I have the problem. Buck

I copied EricofSD's file into my system and it worked! Thanks much, Eric. So Poser 5 is up and running unpatched. Now, with trembling hands I am off to install "The Patch From Hell". Thanks to all, Buck

OK, I found a tpkd.sys file in my winntsystem32drivers directory. It is version 4.1.1.1074. Could someone who has Poser 5 installed and running on Win2000 please check theirs and let me know the version? Thanks, Buck

hpdrag, I just did a file search for tkpd.vxd and I don't have one on my system. Where should it be located? Buck

Marco, The EXACT same thing has happened to me. I have contacted CL Tech Support, (copy of e-mail at end of this post) but it takes a while to get a response. Meanwhile, I am without Poser 5 (fortunately, none of my other programs seem to have been affected). I have tried everything I know to restore the old working environment, including restoring my System State data and program files from last weeks backup (I backup the whole system on a weekly basis). Even after doing this, it still freezes. My OS is on a separate drive from my Applications like lalverson's, so that's not it. I hate to think of having to reformat my C: drive and reinstall W2000. Your workaround might be preferable to that. One thing... I had taken advantage of Poser 5's library file system capabilities to customize my file structure. Because of this, I ran into errors when I tried to install the figures part of the patch, and think this may have been part of the problem. By any chance did you experience this too? I'll try Penguinisto's suggestion next. If anyone has any other ideas, please post them here. I'll post any progress here also. Thanks, Buck copy of e-mail to CL tech support Hi, I have a Win 2000 machine; Pentium4, 2GHz, 1.5Gb RAM, I was running Poser 4 and Pro-Pack. When Poser 5 was released, I installed it in it's own directory and both versions ran fine. Last night I downloaded and installed the Poser 5 patch (the two part version). Now, when I try to start Poser 5 the system hangs and requires a power down reset. I decided to start from scratch, uninstalling Poser 5 and reinstalling the original without the patch. The system still hangs!! My original Poser 4 still works fine through all this. I just can't get up and running on Poser 5 again. Help please, Bob Bulkley

Just to wrap this up (since I started the thread), I have found a workaround for this... just bring up the clothing item's Hip proprties and uncheck "Bend". Haven't tried it on Poser 4, but I'll bet it'll work there also. Buck

Well I'll be damned! All the Poser 4 scenes I've done and I never experienced this! I just now opened Poser 4, and there it was! One big difference though... with Poser 5 it starts deforming at around 16 degrees of rotation and gets progressively worse as 180 degrees is approached. CL has accepted this as a bonafide problem. Sure hope they get this fixed in their "patch", as it's really ugly. Thanks to all for your insights, Buck

I installed the Bonus Content .pz3's from the Application CD, but I can't open either pz3 file from Poser 5. Poser 5 just hangs and I have to use the old 3 finger salute to close it. Has anyone else experienced this?
Buck
