Thread: Hair Morphs Missing | Forum: DAZ|Studio
That was it! Well, the bones were different. HR-119->head->cap->hair That is where the morphs were located. If I autofit the hair, the bones are replaced with G8F bones and the morphs are lost. If I manual fit in the zero pose and then parent the hair to the head, I can used the original morphs that came with the package. (Why do I think all of you know this already?) Thank you RHaseltime for helping me get this sorted out.
Thread: Moving faces between groups (request for help) | Forum: Blender
I got it! I don't have to add a face to a material group, I have to assign (or reassign the correct material) to selected faces. Yay!. But, Thanks you for the replay because now I know how to make Vertex groups. I a watching the Blender Basics from Udemy, but I was getting a little ahead of myself.

This is very helpful. (I learned something, including, I was asking the wrong question.) I did select keep vertex order. I only have one vertex group named default, but I have the three material groups from Marvelous Designer> After correcting the triangles, I have a few faces are that are not in the correct material group now . (Now I am asking the right question). How do I move the faces from material group to another?
Thread: Copying Conform Information to new figure? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I made some progress. The problem is in the new UV map I was creating. I took a copy of the original OBJ into Silo3D, added materail zones only and saved it out as is (No poly mods) to a different file name. I used QuickConfrom 3.0 to copy the rigging and conforming information from the original clothing into a new .cr2 file using the new obj mesh. This creates a new figure and places in the library (great tool). This new figure loaded from the library, with material zones in tac and rigging that works (confroms).
SO I went back to Solio 3D and removed the unwanted geometry from the the nipple area of the apron, and saved it again (not creating a new UV map). I used QuickConform to copy the conforming informtion from the original (donar) as before. I loaded it into Poser through the Library Figures and it worked! So I was able to do minor mods without recreating the UV map (which may cause problems but I am not seeing them. I am sure will cause some problems if I create materials with patterns. But when I assign materials in the material room, all seems to work well.
I guess something I did when I pinned the UV or during that work session fouled up something in the OBJ. Now all I have left to do is try to copy in some of the V4Morphs++.

edTHanks for the information. After reading it I though I realized that the new figure is not grouped. QuickConform is a tool (here on rendo) for taking rigging and conforming infomration from a donor figure (clothing or base figure and applying it to the new OBJ file that you are creting new clothing from. I think the figure has to be grouped prior ot using QuickConform.
More specifics on what I am doing. In general, I have taken a figure that works in Poser, (V4Apron in the freebies section) and editied the geometry in Silo3D, removing some unwanted detail around the nipples. I want a smooth front. I deleted some ploys and smothed the geometry.
What I would like to do is replace the geometry (OBJ file) of the original figure with my updated one. I understand that the UV map amy be messed up by doing this, and I will create a new one in Silo3D. I used Poser File Editor to change replace the figure geometry in the .cr2 file and that did not work. (the figure loads from the library, but the focus circle is around an 'invisble' do on the floor... aka, the geometry did not load.
The obj files imports as a prop just fine. Material zones work and the normals are right.
I want to copy the rigging and morphs from the original figure to the new one. It uses skirt handles in the rigging and I would like to use those.
So I need a way to copy the rigging (and conforming data) from an original figure to a new one, OR, replace the geometry of the original figure with a modified geometry.
Sounds easy, but, I am stuck. Qucik Conform 3.0 is supposed to do just that, and I have used it before, but I get a figure that will not load geometry.
Thread: Using Lace as a brush | Forum: Photoshop
The seller actually did help me. I contacted her and asked how the lace was intended to be used. I was familiar with the pen-path-stroke-brush method and she explained how to convert to a brush. I thought I had it at this point, but I had never used a 'stamp' brush in this way. (I did not understand the spacing and direction control.) She was working on a project and I felt bad about going back to her again. I have found that the sellers here are extremely helpful, I just don't want to bug them too much. ;)
Everyday is a learning day.
Thread: Using Lace as a brush | Forum: Photoshop
The edge lace trim was too long and made it hard to apply to a curve, so I sampled a smaller section.
To get it to "flow", the key was setting Angle Control to "Direction" and playing with the spacing in Brush Dynamics. I did not want to feather the entire brush image because I need the details of the "Picot Edge", so I just blurred the edges where the brush stamps joined which helped with the hard edges where the "stamps" met. The result is ok, nothing I can't touch up after stroking the path... As the angle increases, the edges become visible. Any tips on minimizing this are appreciated.
I am not sure I am doing this right or if the result is acceptable. I used the brush to create a mask (no textures) so I could look at it critically. See attached. Comments, tips and criticisms welcomed. Remember, two days ago I did not know how to create a brush from an image.
Thanks for the help.

Thread: Scene Rotation? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the reply. I did check the Heirarchy Editor and most of the room componenets were parented to the floor. (I was rotating the wrong floor before, temp on that I added during compositiion. ) THis saved be a bunch of time. (thank you)
The rest of the items in the room were parented to UNIVERSE. I had to manually reassign each one. I wish there was a feature or a script to allow you to select many figures/props in a room and change a parameter that applies to all of them, like paraent. Seems like a script that I have heard of somewhere.

Thread: Stop writing to me in site mail - I can't answer | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I am not saying this si your problem with site mail.
My site mail did not work after the change over. I was using Windows XP Professional 64 (because I had all of my pipeline setup there and did not want to rebuild.) I worked with the Rendo IT department and learned that IE 8 was not fully supported. (Java was breaking).
I had built a second machine for production, (Dual Xeon Windows 7 box). I tried mail with that and it worked fine. SO, I am migrating all of my applications to the new machine. IT was over due.
