What annoys me the most is that the posted images are completely lost between all the buttons, frames, and lines of all diferent colors and tones and sizes. The French have a fitting word for this: cacaphonie...
Not a pleasing environment to show your images at all, to say the least.

Hi Ronny,
About opening images in ACR:
I always open my images in the ProPhoto RGB 16 bit colorspace, because that gives me the widest 'color gamut', the widest range of color and tone information to begin with. All my processing is done in ProPhoto RGB 16 bit; it's only after resizing and final sharpening that I change the image mode to 8 bit and convert my images to sRGB, right before saving the images to be displayed for web use.
You should try it, I'm quite sure this will give you the best way to get the best out of your images' colors and tones.
Greetz,
Geert

Thank you. It was in my (deleted) RR gallery, but it led a very quiet life here. ;o)

It's simpler than that; just a surface shot of drops of kitchen oil in a pot of water.

Anyway, this has been my most "successful" image 'till now. And that surprised even me...

Just an observation:
There were times when a thread like this would have generated hundreds of views and tens of reply posts.

Thread: Critiquing Photos | Forum: Photography
Dilemma:
When a very average image has already got 79 comments and 28 favorites (with only 9 full-size views, by the way, what is that telling you?), what's the point in writing that the image could well be improved in at least 7 different ways?
Been there, done that. It's no use and it's not appreciated. You can't beat the system. Not this one.

There are several companies that make (wired or wireless) DSLR camera trigger devices with extended possibilities. You could try Micnova, Pixel or JJC. Available for several camera brands (Nikon, Canon, Sony, Olympus...).
I haven't tried any, but maybe someone here has more experience with them.

Oh yes, PK, I fail and fail, and fail, until I finally get something right. And then... it's time to try something different. And to fail, and fail again... well, you get it ;o)

The best statement though, I find, is in one of his (Derek Sivers) other videos on youtube, called 'Why you need to fail':
"If you're not failing, you're not trying hard enough."
Being an expert at failing, I can certify that that is probably true.
