At the college I work at we have a site license for 14 seats of poser 2014. I installed one copy to the first computer and then had the content installed to a NAS Box. This took the most time. After that I just installed the Program to each computer and then copied over the Poser Preference Files to each clone. Every computer used the same Runtime and for student use the NAS was a Read-Only Drive so they could not change the common data. Posedr has no problem with doing this.
Did you connect via Ethernet, Thunderbolt 3 or some other method

Thread: Opening Daz scene in Poser | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
I want to make sure I understand what is out put. If you have a scene with a lot of pieces and you export from DS 4.10 you get one giant prop or figure with everything in that prop or or figure as one object file....Is that correct? (at least that is what happened on the scene I attempted to export) Did I do something wrong?
Can you select every item independently and export and then rebuild the scene piece by piece?

Thread: Python 2 to Python 3 | Forum: Poser 12
I am on a Mac. They say Poser 12 for Mac will not be released until sometime in December. On the Python website the have a script called 2to3 that is supposed to either convert or help with the conversation of Python 2 scripts to work under Python 3. Anybody tried this?
I have a lot of scripts I purchased, freebees or wrote myself that I use constantly. Without them I would be lost.

Thread: How many external Runtimes do you use? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
C like posted above. Runtimes for every character. Then over a 100 for all kinds of categories for various buildings (architectures), vehicles, factory equipment, office equipment. Bushes, Flowers, trees, ground cover, morphing ground, backgrounds and the list goes on and on. I take a lot of pre-made marketplace scenes and add to them or rip them apart and use pieces from one with pieces from others.

Thread: How can I make a figure's skin lighter? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Using Firefly you can put an HSV node between the main skin texture and the node the skin texture was connected to and play around with the value (bump higher) and reduce the saturation. I got that from a thread by BB years ago. Have yet to try that same trick in Superfly

Thread: Poser Has a New Base Figure!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I really appreciate all the deep thought and the time expended by the developers of LaFemme
(soapbox on)
Regarding the nit-picking, No product developer of any product from software, to any retail product, to a poser figure, can anticipate all the various uses and setting combinations of any new product they create. In my lifetime I have created hundreds of mechanical products that have endured for over 40 years. Most if, not all have been revised over time based on customer feed back. How many updates have been released to fix problems for either the operating system or the web browser you are using to read this thread? Lots!
In the Poser world the most popular figure in recent times is V4. I think some of you are all forgetting there was the original Victoria 4.0. Then version 4.1 . Followed by version 4.2. We as a group didn't cast Victoria 4.0 aside because of flaws discovered that Daz didn't know of when Victoria 4.0 was released. And again even when 4.1 was released. We pointed out the flaws and waited for Daz to react.
Going back to the mechanical products I have developed over the last 40 some odd years, I craved constructive criticism.
There is a motto that goes something like this. You can please most of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time.
I am not a fan of Studio's interface at all. My hope is that the clothes, shoe, hair and character product developers get behind LaFemme and that causes a resurgence of the popularity of Poser. And that the product developers behind LaFemme react to constructive criticism and improve her in ways they did see or know about on the day she was released.
Very few if any products as complex as a 3D character are ever prefect on initial release. If they were there would never have been V4.1 or V4.2.

Thread: Why are you still using V4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

I use Poser 7 and Vue 6.5, and I also have over a thousand bought items for V4 and M4. Trying to "upgrade" to the latest Genesis would likely mean completely replacing all of this, along with learning a brand new way of doing things. That's thousands of dollars of software/assets and hundreds of hours of practice.
At this point in time I'm fine with V4, until there's a seamless upgrade path. I think she looks great, and my only real complaint is the lack of new products for her.
Fall into this category except no Vue, Use P11 Pro, and sketchup. Too much invested in V4 and M4 to replace with G at any level. I place them in scenes with building, cars, landscape and they work just fine. I wish there was a plugin to covert Daz materials to Poser materials on props :)

Thread: Load same light set parented to muliple props | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical

The only way I know of to save a light parented to a prop is to edit the PP2. You can save as many lights as you want, attached to the parent prop as you wish; and name them accordingly during the edit. One parent prop places all lights, and each light can be then be adjusted as per need. I released a few light sets like that over the years designed for specific scenes.
Yep figured it out by editing the pp2 and adding the spot light and the point light I needed from a light file I saved off positioned how I needed, etc parented to the prop light poles. Made lighting a road in the distance Mikey was driving Vicky on during a recent date super easy. Now have several move night time scenes to light using the same set of lights

Yep no groups show up, and a lot of body parts in the hierarchy editor. Weird part is product has a Dson core installer, and I have used that several times in the past and it doesn't seem to work with this product either. Hair has no morphs other then fit morphs. Product is Curler Hair for Genesis 8 Female(s) . Yes I have Poser 11 Pro. I think I will just use the object, save as a prop and use magnets as needed to fit better the around the back of the neck

Thread: Adding Toe Bone to Shoes that don't have them can it easily be done? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Infinity I took a real hard look at the shoes which are figures. Took them into the setup room and the toe, foot and shin bones are there.
What appears to be missing is the groups. The shoes have toe groups and no foot groups. So based on the above I just use the grouping tool and sue the auto group? Going to get the gas can out and mess around and pour more fuel on the fire.
Thanks

Was that kick a Bam, Pow, Boom or ??? Hate to say it I can't remember them all any more. Based on the colors of the costumes B&W TV didn't do the show justice. But those were the days that is for sure.
