Just wanted to say thanks and aye aye to the captain for helping me find the texture map for this texture... and as for the rest of you ninnies - oh well. I had a similar post to this one on the DAZ forum, and I think it was deleted. For crying out loud - you'd think I was robbing Fort Knox or something. Funny thing is - in all of my other hobbies - people trade commodities and help each other out in a mutually beneficial manner in many ways - some of you guys need to wake up and smell the visene.
"Daz doesn't allow distributing the texture under any circumstances."
No wonder I don't browse this sight too often any more - go outside, get away from your terminal, you have acquired a type of cathode ray central nervous system contamination...

After pouring through the log file I found this - 3Delight message #3 (Severity 2): "C:Program FilesDAZStudiotempd2_SBody.tdl" not found. 3Delight message #3 (Severity 2): "C:Program FilesDAZStudiotempd1_SBody2a.tdl" not found. 3Delight message #3 (Severity 2): "C:Program FilesDAZStudiotempd3_SHeadDef.tdl" not found. 3Delight message #3 (Severity 2): "C:Program FilesDAZStudiotempd6_SLashes.tdl" not found. 3Delight message #3 (Severity 2): "C:Program FilesDAZStudiotempd7_SRef1L.tdl" not found. 3Delight message #3 (Severity 2): "C:Program FilesDAZStudiotempd8_SEyeDefL.tdl" not found. 3Delight message #3 (Severity 2): "C:Program FilesDAZStudiotempd4_SHeadDet.tdl" not found. 3Delight message #3 (Severity 2): "C:Program FilesDAZStudiotempd9_SRef1R.tdl" not found What is a .tdl file? Is that a temporary 3Delight texture file?

Hello, That would make perfectly logical sense - that a 3DDelight software render warning message should not be card related, but I somehow have this feeling in my veins that it might somehow be distantly related to texture overload (only because of the chain of events leading up to the incident itself). I also just tried reducing the bucket size and that does assist in my render times. I was hoping that someone would know why the 3DDelight Warning was popping up - and that associated texture loss, or whatever one might call that. The weird thing is that I cannot replicate the error - if it comes up again, I will copy and post it, as well as the image in question. I may run a post on DAZ's site and see if someone lurking there has encountered and diagnosed this. Thanks all.

P.S. forgot to mention that I have relegated myself back to using the old version of DAZ, only because most of my installed content does not function with the currently offered update - does anyone know if the bugs with the distorted figures has been resolved? Hope so - I look forward to using the updated D.S.

Thanks - I will try the diffuse tab today. I have a strong suspicion that my graphics card cannot handle too many mega textures at once - but I am not sure about that either. I know that if I have a texture where I apply too much reflection, this can cause DAZ to sit and act constipated, and the render seems to never take place. Thanks again.
Thread: NEW DAZ STUDIO? - DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT! | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Well - I'm surprised that my original post in this matter was not removed for troll like behaviour. Why on earth wouldn't DAZ allow a number of their users to pre-test this version - then iron out the bugs - then release it to the seething hordes? Me, I am just beyond being a newbie with this software, and the issues that accompany this release are out of my grasp. How many crashes will you all tolerate before DAZ Studio - into the recycle bin it goes? For what it's worth - the folks at DAZ are good people, as well as most of the Renderositers who I have crossed paths with. I will terminate this post with an ancient Chinese proverb. The great question is not whether you have failed, but whether you are content with failure

My friend - there are many among us. Please visit this web site and submit as detailed report as you can - I guess the more the merrier?!?! It's kind of a pain in the you know what - but what isn't these days?!?!?!?!? http://www.daz3d.com/bugs/main_page.php My relative question is this - if someone gave you a Ferrari - without a motor in it - would you enjoy it (unless you were a Ferrari mechanic that is)?

Yes, to certainly fair, there are problems with certain packages - that were not affected by the previous version. It seems that dials were tweaked by the new version without (to my limited knowledge) rhyme nor reason. I hope that if this issue is resolved - that the people at DAZ (they are very nice there I have to say) will make some sort of announcement. Also, I did use the DAZ uninstaller, which uninstalled the previous version of the program, and most of the functions seem to be intact ;-). Thank you so much for all of your support, now I can take the single bullet out of my revolver - but I still have the bags under my eyes - I guess there's a different cure for that!!!

Well, Upon further inspection, it seems as though random dials have been tweaked without my input, which I would consider something most would not desire. Especially in light of the fact that the old installation did not have these issues. This evening I spent 3 hours trying to determine if this was me or something else. Thanks all for the help.

Thanks for the info - you know if there's no easy way to fix this - who is going to pay for all of the time wasted fixing this problem on all the DAZ user's machines with pre-installed content? Does anyone believe that they released software without testing it with pre-existing morphs? Are they f---ing kidding? A simple warning on their web site would have at least been the decent thing to do. I'm sorry to vent this on Renderosity's doorstep - but this goes beyond "bug" status in my book.
Thread: New DAZ Version | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Thank you all, I downloaded the new version and it seems to work quite well. I have yet to monkey with the added features to any extent. I did notice the color widget now has coordinates - which I agree with. Also, the null node button is a good added feature to be on top of the interface. I'll be digging in further at another time.... Thanks again.

Thanks so much, I will try this - just in case, I am going to copy/rename/move my runtime folder until it is complete... Here's hoping.
Thread: Lighting & pre/post rendering | Forum: DAZ|Studio
One other question came to mind - in the pre-render of this image - the bustier has reflections and highlights - however, the render itself - comes out flat or matte black. Some materials/colors/textures that I use, no matter how I tweak the dials and settings - do not seem to respond in regards to reflective properties, bumps, etc. Is there something that I am unaware of, that does not appear in the manual in regards to reflective surfaces? Hope you all had a happy new year.

Thanks so much - after looking at the files - you are so right. I will try to decompress the files right away.
Thread: DAZ vs Poser (and other platforms we won't mention) | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Well - I am taking your advice and trying some of the tweaks immediately. I am not really on one side of the fence or the other in particular. HOWEVER, the more that I utilize it - the more I like DAZ. I have to say that even with fairly simple renders - Poser 6 (at my current settings) melts my poor little 512 Dimms, and sometimes even resulting in an unsettling full system kabosh :-0 Thanks so much for your input - it's good to hear from someone who really knows, and is honest and forthright. As we speak - I just had to task manager Poser 6 away from an unspeakable render. I need to learn patience and apply more limitations - nearly every conversation with someone knowledgable leads to their statement i.e. "you should probably lower this/that setting - you seem to do that alot." I guess the word "limit" should be added to my vocabulary - I swear I will try anyway.
