Interesting I did a search for Poser Pro 2010 and came up empty.
Content Paradise is offering Sidegrade/Upgrade from Poser 8 + Pro or from Poser 8

I'm a Lightwave and Modo user. I've only used Daz Studio to bench/compare its abilities.
With the Pro version and new features I'm considering rigging and getting my animations done in Studio. Since character animation is a ways out for Lightwave (Core) and Modo, it looks like it might be the most viable option. Looking forward to seeing the final package.

Mazak - thanks for the GC2links. This level of control looks to change how I've been using view. I expect to put a good part of my day going through these tutorials.
Chippwalters - thanks for the Quadspinner links.
I'll admit I all but stopped using Vue in favor of Teragen lately, but he really offers some great tips on the free video and the pay for video is very much worth it.
In summation - both GC2and Quadspinners video are great purchases. Both compliment each other very well.

I bought it earlier today and have the serial.
My question is this. Is it tied to my copy of Vue 7 or can I install it on another machine.
Thread: Poser's demise.. are we working towards ...?... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I remember starting with Poser 1. I had an immediate use for it then and ultimately expanded on its use in various business projects. Poser has been accused of being a one trick pony for many years and it still around with a large base of support. I don't expect that to change anytime soon. Of course Poser has changed hands more times than a user can be comfortable with and Smith Micro seems the oddest owner of the lot.
With that said, I have no compelling reason to upgrade to Poser Pro. 7 does what I need it to do with DS is quickly becoming more competitive. That doesn't mean Poser is going to die on the vine, it just means Smith Micro is going to have to engineer a purposeful upgrade to get people to part with their money.
To draw parallels I compare Poser 7 to Lightwave 9.
After 13 years I'm moving to XSI as Lightwave is showing its age just like Poser is.
Lightwave and Poser are in a state of a much needed overhaul. But just because many Lightwavers are moving to XSI doesn't mean Lightwave will go the way of the Dodo. So long as both programs can rally their price point while expanding their feature set, they will continue to sell in the hobbyest markets.
Thread: Poser Pro Released | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
wow interesting points being made in this thread.
I understand Blackhearted's points being made. When a company is dealing with marketing to new users, what one gets "out of the box" does matter. How usable is it out of the box? To a new user being introduced to Poser via Poser Pro, I would say there are additional costs to consider; be one a professional or a hobbiest.
I started using Poser 1 as a hobbiest and purchased each successive version for business in professional applications. My colleagues and I have been using Poser models in medical, industrial, and entertainment promotion and presentations. The lack of quality base models strikes me as a bit odd for that reason. I doubt that adding the word Pro is meant to filter out some users thus curtailing valuable sales. Not all professional users of Poser are modelers by trade.
Aside from the low quality of the base characters, I am not yet convinced that Poser Pro (even at $200) is worth the upgrade for other reasons. I'm still on XP32 so I'm still looking into Pro/Cons but I'm guessing the next version should feel more complete.
Thread: Poser sighting -- CBS 60 minutes | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Poser is used allot more professionally than many lead on. But honestly allot of work is layered composite work. It would be inappropriate to say "x" piece was produced in Poser.
Yes Poser has a professional stigma within 3D groups, but most execs/managers/producers aren't involved with that level of idiocy. Some of the work I've done with CBS used Poser models rendered in Poser or Lightwave - you use what assets and tools you have to get the job done. It's that simple. None of my work was ever used in a televised production.

For all intents and purposes 64Bit apps enable accesing greater than 2GB of system memory. Most if not all speed increases would be memory related which isn't a minor detail. Larger scenes and textures would also benefit.
Thread: Help: Blend Modes Layer Styles BUG?!? | Forum: Photoshop
After more testing I found out it is a bug using "Hard Mix" blending.
I've been using it for some high contrast blending lately . Well not anymore.
In the meantime I'm going to multiply surface effects layers to achieve more or less the same result.
Thread: Inserting Layers - Action | Forum: Photoshop
SWAMP - Wow that looks as close as possible to what I am looking for. It may just do the trick. It looks like allot of options can be keyed in . I think you're right I do not believe a script can be built into an action, but this script alone could more than offset the current drudgery. I'll give it a run and see how it goes. Thanks again. **

Thread: Inserting Layers - Action | Forum: Photoshop
Hi Joe - Thanks for the links.
I have about 8 Actions I've made over the past two weeks that have saved allot of production time.
Where Action features appear to come short is opening multiple PSD docs and Inserting one into another. Imagine manually inserting hundreds of PSD layered files in a deadline. Yikes!
Inserting layers by "dragging" is not recorded in actions. It just shows documented selected. I've tried the "Open" action (folder location) but having two "Layered PSD" files interact with each other is where the limitation appears to be.
I'm sure there's a work around here somewhere.
