Haha thanks Bill. The last update for IE for Mac was about 10 years ago, so that won't be a help. lol
Anyway, I understand the manual render settings and have done everything I can think of to lighten the load. I've been using Poser since v6 and have never had any issues with renders (other than sometimes having the time to build a house during some. haha) I've rendered more complex scenes on my laptop with v7. It just seems that P8 does not like me or my Mac. (But sorry Bill, the Mac stays! ;) )
I think I just need to go back to 7. I haven't had any issue whatsoever with it. I rendered out the same scene I was having issues with in 7 and it completed the render wit no errors.  And it has the same settings as it did in 8. I've actually not had good luck with P8 at all. I'm on my second incident report with them since I got it. Every day I have new issues and add them to my incident responses. They have been very helpful and responsive but P8 and I just are not friends. All in all it may just be a ghost in the machine. (and I do love a good ghost story). So I guess the marriage is over and it's back to 7 with me.
Thanks all,
R

I just contacted them about 2 weeks ago about another issue and they sent me the links to the latest updates. I'm guessing I am up to date, but never hurts to check.

I've tried it with and without inherit bends. Does the same thing. I've even tried adding a ball as a primative, parenting that to the hand and parenting the prop to the ball. Same issue just slightly different effect.
And the pant leg at the bottom mark, is actually the bow string deforming when I tried bending the wrist, lol
I'm just not having much luck with poser 8. I have 4 different projects that I started that came to an immediate standstill, all for different issues. oh well. That's what post work is for right?
I'm gonna try to get this one done before the holiday is over lol
thanks,

I have an injection builder script that works pretty well. I'm just hoping whatever the deformity was doesn't get transferred to the morph. But there's always copy paste.  lol

I've never actually gotten an update icon for the figures, but I don't usually by characters other than the base and then create my own from there. I just don't get why thy were fine in he other versions of poser, but not 8. Oh well... live and learn. I'm just hoping that I can salvage the characters that I've made from D/V4. (Luckily I really haven't had much time before now to work with them, so there are only a few.)Â
Thanks,

I uninstalled both V4 and M4 and downloaded them again from Daz, then re-installed both figures. I added the new M4 into the scene and loaded the M4++ morphs. I dialed up "toned" to .4, bent the arm and had the same effect. I opened up Poser 7 repeated the process and everything was fine. Tried with V4 in P8 and had the same issue.
Finally I got frustrated and Tossed everything M4 and V4 morphs and all, the went back and re-installed and so far it seems to be working. I wonder if the issue was with the morphs and not the figures.
Thanks for everyone's help. I'll update if it (or something else) happens.

John I think you just emailed me back from SM about another issue. Either you or another John.
Thread: I'm finding Poser 8 totally useless | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I was having an issue with content disappearing from my library. It was like playing runtime rolette as to what would show up and what wouldn't. I actually amused myself refreshing folders for a time. Anyway... I emailed smith micro who I have to say responded within 10-15 minutes of my initial email to them. They sent me a link to the newest service release and it fixed it right up (so far) as well as the speed of my indirect lighting renders. Don't know if you've tried it yet... but it can't hurt. Go to the site and check out the updates.. there are 2.

It is at the joint zone. I've tried fixing it adjusting joint parameters, but it just made it worse. I never had it happen in P7 either.

It doesn't seem like the other post ever really got resolved. It became a "Posette" discussion and ended there.
I tried re-installing both figures and it's the same. The second I introduce any body morphs the forearm shifts. :(
It does make for some interesting poses trying to hide it though haha.

Thanks for the help.. I'm not using any existing poser elements, so I'm not going to worry about Poser's pz2 files. I was just using what I knew about the way Poser's conforming clothes worked. Everything that I am going to use in Blender will be of my own creation. But I'm learning pretty much everything, Other than texturing, from scratch. I'm pretty much done modeling the character, and then I thought about the clothes. I may for ease sake, Chop him up, and build him with the clothes already part of the model, which will ease up rendering time I'm sure. But, if I do decide to add clothes as a separate item, I can just add them to the same armature as the base model. (think that's what you're saying.) I just have to weight paint it separately, right? (Sorry.. like I said Total super newbie to this whole world, always wanted to learn so I'm taking it one step at a time so I'm just making sure that I'm all clear.) Thanks again.. R

I did the same thing IsaoShi. That's why I posted this lol. Sorry I missed your first post, or I would have saved you the time. But.. go to the link pjz99 posted about svdl's spawncharacter.py It works great. It doesn't Include the MAT INJ, but hey, that's my next venture. Thanks pjz99 for the link. R
