i would defintely be interested in a Linux version of Carrara! in fact it is programs like Carrara and Poser that have kept me from migrating to Linux already. i am not "upgrading" from Win2K to XP. so when the software stops working on Win2K i am not buying. greg

Az Chip, here is what the after effects 4.1 help file says: To import a sequence of still images: 1 Do one of the following: In Windows, make sure that each filename has the correct file extension and that all filenames in the sequence contain an equal number of digits at the end of the filename, but before the extension. For example, File000.bmp, File001.bmp, File002.bmp, and so on. In Mac OS, make sure all filenames in the sequence contain an equal number of digits at the end of the filename. For example, File000, File001, File002, and so on. 2 Move all the files in the sequence to the same folder. 3 In After Effects, choose File > Import > Footage File. 4 Locate and select the first file in the sequence. 5 Select Sequence, and then click Open. Premiere has a similar feature. hope this helps! greg

Clint, That may be true, but what then is the purpose of being able to choose colors in the preview section if you cannot render with them? How do you get that nice preview coloration over to the renderer? Thanks greg
Thread: Problem with Walk Designer and Custom Figure | Forum: Poser Technical
Yes, Jeff it does. When the new walk starts it assumes the pose of the first frame of the walk and just freezes there for the rest of the walk. This has happened on two different figures i created originally in Carrara. I wonder if Carrara's different Z axis orientation has anything to do with it? thanks

Brenthomer, in the properties tray go to the modifiers tab and add "spin" under the behaviors tab. in the cycles per second select 1 for example and then set the duration time to say 4 secs. if you drag the scrub bar in the sequencer tray you should see your letter spinning one time per second. don't set any degrees or yaw--the modifier takes care of that for you. just adjust the cycles per second and the duration to fit your needs. hope this helps--i just did it in about a minute and it works fine.

Hi Hoborg! How about a simple tutorial on making a realistic fork in the spline modeler? thanks
Thread: Circular Wave not working? | Forum: Carrara
thanks guys. It also worked for me with a squashed cube. Strange how all the other wave options work with a plane tho.
Thread: Sketch designer help | Forum: Poser Technical
Trew, Go to the Animation Menu; click on Make Movie. Under Quality choose Current Sketch Settings. It will render the movie with the settings you set up when you last used the Sketch Designer under the Window Menu. Hope this helps--it offers all kind of interesting animating possibilities. siva
