Before I was replicand, I was squid69. Replicand  currently has 999 posts and is saving the 1000th post for the unveiling of the new mesh, which will happen very soon. I am currently detailing the base mesh and I'm starting to get the impression that this is a project that I can never finish (thanks odf for ruining my world re: three years between preliminary and final mesh).
Patorak: thanks for your support - it is truly appreciated. Rigging was tested during the development of the previous mesh. The smoothed / low poly design philosophy guarantees relatively pain-free rigging. I have no plans to distribute it and it is not designed for use in Poser (so JCMs, Â et al do not apply). But since it is low density, I'm wondering if I should make it available to the Poser community to see what they will do with it. I will consider this.
I have spent considerable amount of time integrating muscle flow into the topology but animation loops have been a challenge - there aren't many present yet. Particularly the knee and the elbow, I really want to get those looking right. I've found though, that adding an extra bone / joint for those areas help to keep things neat.

Poser is so well loved but is frustrating to use due to system instability and a perceived sense of dis-integrated modularity.
Thread: Rendering Letters and words on Texture maps.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Don't know if this is much help but: texture filtering off as you mentioned, Shading Rate less than or equal to 1, pixel samples around 3 X 3. Regarding your font, you can either BOLD it, or choose a font with less contrast between the strokes such as Garamond, Egyptian or Helvetica.
Thread: OT - Switching to Mac | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Don't forget there is always the possibility to install Windows on an Intel Mac. I have opted not to go this route, but I still keep Windows boxes around when I need to do something that isn't supported by the OSX. I side graded Vue Infinite and Renderman at no additional costs (the Windows licenses were dismantled). Contact the vendors in question to see what their policies are.
Thread: OT -- recent well-hyped CG movies not living up to box office expectations...... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Having the most awesome tools at your disposal will do nothing if your story is lacking, but it does offer the director the ability to realize his vision, as mentioned earlier. I was very disappointed with the Transformers. The look was awesome - dare I say photo-realistic - but the story, I dunno, maybe I'm old seemed very junior-highish (no disrespect to junior high students). There's such a huge desire for studios to quickly release movies, three years or so on a production, and so little attempt to make the story really work. Any movie for me with a Deus Ex Machina ending, CG or not, my suspension of disbelief is out the window and I leave feeling cheated. There have been several great films with CG and a solid story. The earlier Pixar films and the first Matrix immediately come to mind.

Thread: Favourite Modelling app for Poser? Help! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"pretty much any app that can export .obj files will work with poser just fine."
It's worth mentioning that Poser uses a subset of the obj file format; curves and surface patches are not Poser friendly.

(hangs head low)
Just saved V4 mat to the library, applied it to D3 character, switched maps and indeed it looks more like its supposed to. The difference is subtle; I will apply it to the entire character, Â render pre-s and post-s. Thanks for your assistance.

Point taken. I never though it was a mesh problem and when I noticed the difference I thought it was strange, so I re-checked the settings to make sure they were correct. I'm pretty sure they are, although I'd be happy to run through them again.
Regarding "try saving your duplicated material", is there a way to save the entire shading network independent of the *.pz3 file? If so that'd make life alot easier.

pjz99 - I shouldv'e mentioned that the scene was developed for the V4 character, which was removed and replaced with the D3 character. All scene elements (except the characters and their original shading networks) are exactly the same.

Regarding the yellow arrows, this edge blend region in V4's network is reddish but in the re-made network they're blue, even though all the values match exactly. Odd.
