Subject: !! Problems

bostone737 ( ) posted Wed, 09 August 2006 at 10:19 AM · edited Sat, 10 August 2024 at 6:45 AM

Hello, Is there a way to rename folders (the head and body morphs) in runtime to not begin with '!!' and not have poser do a search for inj files everytime? The '!!' really annoys the heck out of me. I need to have everything sorted and that just makes it difficult to sort. Anyone has any suggestions i would appreaciate it..

thanks

The easiest way is to use either CRPro or PoserFileOrganiser both in the store here. Otherwise, it's a search and replace through all the files that refer to !! and remove etc.

The important thing is not to stop questioning.

Yes, you can rename any folder besides the Poser "root" folders (i.e. Cameras, Characters, Poses, Props, etc.) to anything you want without breaking anything.

Any folder inside the library folders (camera/character/face/hair/hand/light/materials/pose/props) can usually be renamed without a problem. There are just a hand full of old products that have references to injection poses in the pose folder rather then the libraries/!DAZ folder, but those few can be adjusted easily with a text editor.

You shouldn't need a text editor to change the folder names, unless you're redirecting the path to things like geometry, morph inj/rem, or textures.

If all you want to do is rename folders/products (say, in the Pose folder), right-clicking on the file and selecting rename works just fine.

Hmmm.

Did you move or rename the !DAZ folder in the Runtime:Libraries folder?

Because otherwise you shouldn't be having any problems with inj morphs.

You should download an actual version of those morphs, as only the original release got that problem.
