I think what you want is - on Advanced view in Materials Room - to create a node on Diffuse_Color -> New Node -> 2d Textures -> Image Map, which leaves you with a node you can set Image_Source for and browse for a file. You have options to UV scale, offset and tile as you like from there. Does that help?
Thanks, yes I know how to add a texture map as you descibe.
The item I want to texture isn't UVmapped, so there is no texture map.
What I want to do is tile a texure - you know like you do in PSP with a small tile to fill a bigger area.
Thanks anyway.

Well, that's what I thought you meant - primitive props aren't UVmapped either are they?
edit: never mind I see what you mean (texture goes on each face of the item, which is no good)
You do the same thing as above, only browse to your tile. Then you can adjust the size of the tiling using the U and V Scaling.
Also, I tend to connect the image map node to the Specular Colour and change it to black unless I want it shiney in which case I leave it white.

Ok I see, I have never used the scale thingy.
Thanks

Ok an item I want to texture doesn't have a texture map but has material zones
Can you tile a texture to cover the zone? If so how?
Thanks
