Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 03 1:41 pm)
A second problem I've had for a while that I haven't seen anywhere else. It involves props and hair ... When I save a scene and re-open in there is a dialog box that asks for strange geometries , "Geo" or "Geometr", "M", "3", "r" or a variety of other labels then since the label doesn't exist the prop doesn't either. It's rather annoying to have to re-load and adjust the prop in each session. I've not seen this asked before so I thought I'd throw this weird occurence out there too. (please excuse my typo's I have a visual impairment and don't catch them all).

Have you tried exporting the prop with all the normals forward boxes checked on re-import? Have you checked the box in the advanced tab in the Material Room for "Normals Forward"?
If all that works, then save it to the Props Library, and name it what you like, and save it in the scene and stupid ol' Poser won't ask for goofy tags again with that.
I've done that HUNDREDS of times It works with hammering the normals forward.

I'd suggest to do the following:
Thank you for your responces.
JOELGLAINE: That sounds like a great idea ofr regular static props. But some of these are hair props and props with morphs. Will I lose the morphs and such by doing that?
Dizzy: I suspect that this happens during the save sequence since yes, the path is corrupted in the scene file.
Miss Nancy: As long as the two lights. (the sss is subsurface scattered in this instance, but it happens with all but a single IBL light when applied)
Nruddock: I will definately try that. Okay ... it improved a little, but they are still there. Back to the drawaing board.
Any more suggestions will be very much appreciated.

Is it possible that you've got two props there, one stacked on top of the other?

I've faced normals forward, smoothed and unsmoothed polygons, removed backfacing polygons ... and a handful of other remedies from a topic search.
This is a WIP, with levels adjusted in Photoshop to clerify the problem. I'm using P6 with a firefly render and 2 lights, 1 raytraced and 1 sss-shadowmapped. (adjusting these didn't seem to make any difference.
Any help would be appreciated. BTW, this always happens with this prop.
