Hello all and once again hope you are all having a wonderful weekend

Listen I thogut I had ask this once but cant find the thread if I did, so asking again.

Please can someone tell me if it is possible to resize a layer once I have placed it on my orig picture in Photoshop.

I want to make borders useing multiple layes but cant figure out how to do the following.

1, make my outter layre larger then the orig picture.

2, Crop the inner part of the layre that will be placed over the orig picture or second layer.

Any info will be much appreciated

Steel

Attached you will see what I already have

If you are going to make a layer larger than the original image you would first increase canvas size:

Image > Canvas Size

To increase size of a layer you would first select the layer then:

Edit > Transform > Scale

**Sorry another dumb question please.**

If you look at the screen print attached you will see a little lock next to the blank layer which will later be black in the Layes menue.

Can someone tell me please how do I unlock so I can move it behind my main picture?

Thanks again

Steel

You're talking about the background layer, right?  If so, try double clicking on that layer, it should do the trick.

2.Type Ctrl-T to transform

3. Drag on corner handles (hold Shift button to constrain proportions)

4. Double-click inside to commit
