Only if it's not useful to you. If you like the way it renders in stills, and you feel it's worth the money, get it; if it's something you'll see in your Runtime in a year and think "why did I spend good money on that?" don't get it...

The Wisdom of bagginsbill:
"Oh - the manual says that? I have never read the manual - this must be why."Unfortunately all the add ons he was meant to have never emerged. I'm almost certain that when he came out I read that his body would morph into various clothed forms.
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!
I didn't say that I had nothing. I have one alternate texture and some cloting--just not much in the way of clothing. Content Paradise has a texture for him. I have a super hero outfit and a few other weird things. To the Wardrobe Wizard with him.
Of course there's the new Squid Man or whatever the hell it is for him too.
did I imagine it, or do I really recall that they spoke of modelling clothes directly onto him eg morphing his legs into trousers?
Love esther

I don't remember that--but I do remember that they promised a lot of Vincent Parker content that didn't happen. I believe you, perhaps low sales changed their minds. I found all two of my Vincent Parker outfits--ha ha. One day perhaps I'll get around to Wardrobe Wizarding him some BDUs. I think he makes a good looking soldier anyhow.
Attached Link: US Paratrooper
There is one character for Vincent Parker where the clothes are modelled directly onto the body, the US Paratrooper, available at Vanishing Point. That figure uses all the Vincent face maps, poses, etc, but is also a totally standa lone figure that doesn't require you to own Vincent. The reason development was stopped on Vincent Parker had to do with the sale of Vanishing Point products to Renderosity, and my leaving Vanishing Point, nothing to do with the figure, he is a really great figure, especially if you are animating, which is what he was really built for, but he works well in still renders.

Well he certainly ain't dead Jim :) VP has released a new figure based off the VP guy base... http://www.vanishingpoint.biz/productdetail.asp?productID=2184 Plus permission has been given for a bunch of zbrush folks to work on the base mesh in two ways. 1. Sculpting new heads-body parts within zbrush. 2. Using scans from Zil's 3dscanner and combining them with the base mesh to form things such as animrophic creatures. ..both of which means the potential here for some amazing new monsters is well..pretty amazing :) Obviously if someone wanted to critique this approach. 1st thing they'd say... "But he's low poly and zbrush models and 3dscans are not." Normally that would be right, but not here. This is a way different approach. For the figures based off VP guy, these will be kinda like Daz's mil figures, the majority of the body mesh will remain light and the head will have more detail. I'm not going into the how-2 here, it's complicated and after 3 months and 12 people, theres still a few issues to resolve. But I can say it works. On the test meshes, the zbrush gurus have got 3dscans of 70-80b down to 5-7mb. They've kept great detail, got a nice clean poly-structures, no scan holes, have good mapping and grouping. Plus once it's all sorted then that knowledge will be made public for everyones benefit. Something thats never seen in the poserverse before.

The Character seems to be made for animation and low rez.
Is it dumb to get the figure if you aren't going to animate anything anytime soon (If at all?
