Subject: displacement maps

how do you use displacement maps or add them to your characters? I want to add foot wrinkles to their foot soles, G8F.

Hi, you apply the image texture in surfaces / geometry / displacement.

It must be grayscale values, towards black is negative displacement, towards white is positive. RGB 128, 128, 128 is no displacement.

See an example below. Increasing that subD gives more detail (G8F is render subdiv 1 in this image). Also it will only appear in render time.
